  • These are real men singing real music instead of this studio crap and digital voices. Young men take a queue.

  • Maybe the best tag ever...

  • Oh wow ^^

The very left one looked like he feignted :D

  • wow - the finish!!!! tiiiiiiight

  • So amazing...I wish I could take vocal lessons from the bass 2! Stellar performance. What was especially great was their passion and emotional connection to the words they were singing, which made the performance all the better! :)

  • Man.. That was awesome. The best i've ever heard. Perfect harmony throughout!! Like an instrument.

  • Anybody know where I can get the music for this?

  • I love how David Wright is such a music genius when his major is in math... This is probably the greatest barbershop song ever written and performed.

  • @TheAnkielFan24 It's pretty surprising how much math is involved with music

  • @JAWZxz true, but it's simple math, not stuff you would learn in like calculus.

  • @TheAnkielFan24 It's evident that you have never dabbled in counterpoint. Cute response though.

  • @emuwithrabies Which of my comments are you attempting to reply to?

  • goosebumps!

  • Is the announcer Rural Route 4's baritone?

  • The last notes like having a orgasm for the guy on the far right lol!!!

  • This has a very good balance. Most barbershop groups are a bit tenor heavy, but this is just right.

  • If I could "Like" this 100 times I'd do it. Absolutely wonderful - brought tears to my eyes (even on the 6th listening in a row!)

  • daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay

  • That just blew my goddamned face off...

  • This sounds like an instrument being played to perfection. Incredibe.

  • best lockage sound, best quality live, ringing is evident ! no other quartet can come close to these guys, well done !

  • tremendous ending loved it this group sure has talent!

  • that rocks! fuck autotune!

  • @merlinos95 damn straight! all you need is a pitch pipe

  • wow

  • Does anyone know where I can find the music to this??

  • well done gentlemen

  • omg the guy on the far left held that last note for 20 whole seconds PERFECTLY!

  • Anyone else get chills when they hear this?

  • That was so fucking awesome.

  • this video/song/group are amazing. i love the final harmony jus such an awesome sound.

  • bass!!!!

  • oh my god...

  • the far left is the baritone u can tell at the end because when he is holding that note there are 2 higher notes the main(tenor2) and the Tenor 1 which is the far right but yes this was amazing

  • @jorcallison No, the guy on the left is the tenor, from right to left it goes Tenor - Fred Farrell, Lead - Michael Slamka, Bass - Jim Henry and finally Baritone - Bradon Guyton. I've seen these guys live, trust me.

  • @Jackman24601

If you've seen these guys live, I am extremely jealous :/

  • @AMGwtfBBQsauce Aye, you should be, they're AMAZING! Plus, my chaptermaster is friends with Jim, so I got to actually meet the guy! :D

  • @jorcallison The far left (most bald guy) is the tenor. He was best-suited for the long note (post) at the end, so they gave it to him. It's very common in barbershop arrangements for the lead or baritone to come over the top of the tenor as a falsetto part. That way, there is only one falsetto part instead of two, since the tenor usually has the highest comfortable full-voice range. Lung capacity is important, too. Also, if you don't know already, the melody is in the second-highest voice.

  • I think I just pissed myself. Twice.

  • OMG the baritone and bass on this are EPIC !!

  • Why would anyone in their right mind dislike this video? Honestly

  • Fucking love these guys

  • rolllllllll around heaven all daaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyy

  • damn he's tenor 1 holy ballz yess

  • What voice part is the guy who hits the ridiculously long note at the end, he cant be bass or main (tenor 2) so he has to be either baritone or tenor 1, i hope hes tenor 1

  • @Alexsketchstudios there is no tenor 1 or 2 just lead and tenor and yes the person who sang that monstrous long note was the tenor on the far left

  • @UofTspark I mean technically the lead is tenor two so i just got in the habit of calling it tenor 1 for some reason

  • I am proud to say as a dedicated metalhead that I loved the crap out of this.

  • Nailed it!

  • Anyone else clap and cheer at their computer. Never done that before Boy Oh Boy!!

  • Boys 2 men are a joke - they arent this talented

  • Every good barbershop song is a musical puzzle for me : )

  • Incredible. What a blend of voices and masterful singing jobs by all 4 men.

  • i wonder if boyz ii men wouldve done well in this competition

  • Voices are pristine, blends so well, harmonies are perfect. Such a pleasure to listen to :)

  • Beautiful. Just gorgeous.

  • Beautiful. Just gorgeous.

  • That's one helluva microphone!

  • Bliss out :)

  • The chord at 4:05 made me cum in my pants

  • @2edv Me too, but that was after the first time at 2:47

  • That tag is amazing!!!!

  • Wow....I am amazed....wait what happened to my PANTS????

  • Thank heavens I live at a time when these wonderful videos exist to preserve and share this unbelievably great music!

  • please check out prairie fire. my dad coached them. they're a barbershop quartet just like these guys. the quality is not that great.

  • these guys are awesome i heard them sing live

  • That ending was so amazing!

  • niiiiice

  • You can slooooowly see the 23 seconds guy's face turning purple during his long note.

  • wonderful polyphony voice's

  • Absolutely beautiful

  • the original vocoder!

  • That was absolutely incredible

  • Dear goodness, that tenor held that note for 20 seconds...with seemingly NO intake of breath before hand! Chills were only the first thing I experienced.

  • @JetWarrior He actually starts on the word "all." It's a high one, too.

  • @JetWarrior 23 seconds

  • OMG THAT WAS SOOO AWSOME!!!!!!!

  • I am working on this tag to put up here, and i must say, it is EXTREMELY difficult. The level of mastery these four gentlemen have shown is simply above none.

  • BEAUTIFUL!!!

  • How did this get any dislikes? That tag was IMMENSE!!

  • I showed this video to the tenor and bari in my quartet, who have between them 13 years of collegiate musical training and teaching experience, and they both refused to believe that the big bald man on our left was the tenor. I had to go to their website to prove it to them.

  • i came on the tag...

  • Gave me chills!!! wow that tag!!!

  • Trudbol ftw

  • This got me into barbershop.

  • This is my favorite song by them. The guys are really nice too. The lead, Michael Slamka, is my uncle. :D

  • Woohoo, I'm the 1000th Like. hahaha

  • 13 dislikes? Are you kidding me????

  • WOW! You KNOW that must've felt good!

  • the fourth person were onetime away ?? and i love thisss sooo muuch *___*

  • So, I just timed from the point where the lead and the tenor switch, and the tenor begins the last note till the cut off at the end (this at a fortissimo level). Are you ready for this ladies and gentlemen? ........wait for it.......21 seconds....O...M...G

  • The person next to me just literary said, "What the heck?! Why are the hairs on your arms on ends and full of goosebumps?!" I replied...umm watch this incredible video haha. That ending was unbelievably epic

  • That ending just sent chills up my body. Incredible!!!

  • is the one guy the director for the ambassadors of harmony???

  • @ganekelioque Yes he is... The one and only Jim Henry! Also won International with Gas House Gang.

  • So many cross-voicings and such a fantastic balance, I cannot pick out a single line except the bass.

  • Listen to this whenever I need motivation - just amazing

  • how could anyone dislike this? and when you read this, im not just one of those people on youtube who says stupid jokes about the people who dislike videos. i actually dont understand why anyone would dislike it. i can find no reason.

  • @LLckwd Jealousy. That's the only reason.

  • @LLckwd Amen!

  • one of the best; but, tough to beat Realtime's: Yesterday I heard the Rain

  • 11 people have no soul.

  • He holds that note all daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!

  • @Holyshmoe1 Hahaha!!! Yes he does.

  • Eh, mediocre at best.

    Kidding, of course ;)

  • he holds a G# for about 4 seconds before going straight into the F# without breathing and almost no time to breath before the G#, hes one talented guy

  • My grandpa is the emcee, Jim Bagby.

  • *nailed it.*

  • DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!

  • Bravo! Not only the singing and pitch - but what a message! Thank you!

  • The emotion in there for performance is what really pushed them over their competition to win this year. It's really just an outstanding performance.

  • that was amazing

  • uncle fester held that down

  • How does this not have 300,000,000 Views?!?!?!

  • Jim Henry sounds like warm liquid butter. Mmmmm

  • that has to be the best barbershop song ever!

  • @samwatson123 what is the name of the song?

  • @Fleaflickerpa123 its called Lucky old sun :)

  • @EnergyPimps I agree man, well said. I make it my goal to try to appreciate all forms of music and to recognize talent, whether I like it or not. Lady Gaga did go to Juilliard, there has to be some talent there. However, barbershop will always be my favorite.

  • I was fortunate enough to be instructed at University Chorus for 5 semesters by Jim Henry at Lindenwood... an amazing experience I really value and I learned so much from! He's an amazing guy and singer!

  • Jim Henry (bass) is the man!!!

  • @eh2erik i do like jim henry as well. my choir group from school went to his program at UMSL college and he was a great mentor. I didnt realize it was jim henry until i researched this quartete group but i did think the face seemed familiar lol

  • @atboy356 Yeah, when i was in high school he would come help work with us and we would go work with him at UMSL. Great man and he's a great teacher as well.

I wanna get back into barbershop :(

  • @eh2erik I Know. Hes the director of The Ambassadors Of Harmony and i saw them in concert. He also taught my choir for about an hour. My grandpa used to work with him. Unfortunately my grandpa died a few years back. Dr. Robert Paul Drummond. He was a great musician as well and taught the choir at a college out in Booneville Missouri.

  • My goosebumps have goosebumps :)

  • @betaomega04 lol!

  • I honest to god cry every time I watch this video.

  • awesome bass

  • This is an absolutely beautiful song performed by a great quartet. And the tag...Jim's part make you crap in your pants because your body can't digest that kind of awesome, lol.

  • Isn't the bass from the gas house gang?

  • @LegallyInsane926211 Yes it is the same guy - Dr. Henry.

  • These guys are simply amazing.....

  • Amazing

  • What the name of this song and can I get sheet music??? I want to sing this!

  • roll around heaven all DAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYY !!!

  • Absolutely Stunning!

  • dear lord. this group just made me cry.

  • streamed this competition live in 2009. i'm on the East Coast and it took place on the West, so i was up really late. needless to say, this song really woke me up!

  • A great big WOW :0)

  • My Lord. Wow.

  • AHHHH CHILLLLLS

  • I've got iTunes up to 73 plays on this song! Absolutely love this, it's been the soundtrack to my entire year.

  • can anyone give me the chords that they sing?? I want to play it on the piano, but those are some pretty great chords.

  • @MsBingie

NO learn them by ear, lazy ass.

  • @WoWintosh its pretty hard to learn individual notes from a song especially when the there are two parts that are blended in to the other two and are unable to be heard individually.

  • FUCK YEAH

  • 11 people have no taste in music.

  • chops. major chops.

  • Roll around heaven all daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!

  • Video statistics show this is most popular with males 35+. I really hope barbershop doesn't become a lost art in the future when the new generations come in. I really do love it.

  • @Stracci99 I'm only 16, and I can't get enough of it! I've even started my own Barbershop Quartet!

  • @Blubber120 same here dude!

  • @Stracci99 23 year old musician here! I've added about 100 hits to this vid all by my lonesome! Can't get enough barbershop!

  • 5:20 is the best part. The look on the Bass' face... It's just priceless. God, they did such an amazing job.

  • It's just...insanity. Every note...pitch...perfect.

  • I ran across this the other day and I have probably watched in 10 times since then! Amazing!

  • Hands down, the best barbershop/close harmony on youtube. =)

  • how could u ever dislike this??? seriously!!!!!!!

  • 4:04 awesome. it gave me the chills

  • NOW THAT WAS SWEET...IM STILL STANDING UP CLAPPING.....ENCORE.....EMCORE.....ENCORE....MORE....MORE....MORE

  • Jim Henry = BEAST.

  • Jim Henry is such an amazing musician

  • @twily2here Listened, they have quite a nice sound for a college group, I hope they continue to work together; they could be very successful.

  • The final cut off was a TEEEEEENSY bit ragged...but that's damn near the ONLY flaw in this performance.

  • These guys are by far the best of the best. I have been an admirer of barbershop music and singing my whole life and have sung with many groups over the years. This group is truly the best Ive ever heard. Their sound is unique and their blend is second to none. OUTSTANDING!!!!!! GREAT JOB.......................Paul

  • Where did they find 9 people to "not like" this???!

  • With 27 years as a singer/musician, I would have to say this is the greatest display of pure talent, that I have ever witnessed. I purchased their CD and it is awesome. Can't wait until the next one comes out. This performance has raised the standard to a new level. Absolute perfection!

  • We are so lucky to have music.

  • Either 9 ppl missed the like button, or they dont know what god looks like in quartet form.

  • The best barbershp sound/performance I've ever heard. All the chords ring supremely and you can really feel the meaning of the text through their emotional perfomance. Each voice is amazing alone, but together, it's heavenly.

  • OMG THE OVERTONE IN THE CHORD BETWEEN THE LEAD TENOR AND BARI!!!!!!!!

  • @myself462 i know, right? that one and the one at the end of max q's 2007 "put your arms around me" are the best i've ever heard in a quartet

  • @shad0h27 i agree. their are the best

  • Damn. that guy on the left just keeps goin :) 5:09 - 5:30

  • @MrMan27894 yep the big man has some great breath control! I think these guys may be the best
