  • What Oil pattern are they bowling on?

  • @shadowgouhl5000 3:30 US Open championship Oil pattern

  • you clowns that argue about this stuff on here should do it on the PBA message board, where it's even more sad.

  • 9:02 what the heck is the green thing in the audience??

  • @jamoXDlemon morphsuit

  • @jamoXDlemon a jag off.

  • I believe Earl Anthony would adjust his game and use current technology to his advantage, since he was so great. It is just as difficult now as it was then, due to the extremely difficult and sometimes unpredictable oil patterns. It takes massive talent to adjust ball speed, ball hook rating, release style, etc. Then it was pretty much straight up the lane and much less confusing. I think most of you are comparing a house shot of today to one of old, however, pro shots are another subject

  • @kingwillie206 True man, my coach is 83, winning his divisions in tournaments, and has completely changed his game since he won a big army bowling tournament back in the 50's. Now he's throwing a virtual gravity left to right, not rolling rubber straight up 10.

  • @SayrevilleBombers18 Is this for real??? Are you ALL that stupid, or is this just one guy with different usernames. My hope is the latter, or else in five years everyone will look like Mika and bowl for Blue Chip Stamps.

  • 20alphabet stop trying to be such a know it all and seem professional by using large words. But I have to say I'll take earl anthony over anybody in the world today.

  • @nso1256 You are not worth the effort. It's obvious that your parents felt the same.

  • @20alphabet I think the vehemence with which you defend your case is blinding you just a little. You say that Fukkensaved's comment is untrue on all counts, but it's a real obvious fact that the technology has changed drastically, which was his first statement in the comment. As for who is better...I'm assuming we can agree a pattern that lends itself to multiple angles would be the farest way to compare then and now, in which case I'd take Chris Barnes over Earl Anthony 7/10 times.

  • @afgandominator ...and this wisdom coming from one who can't spell Afghan. Your opinion appropriately reflects your ability to learn.

  • @fukkensaved Untrue on all counts. Do a little background study and you'll know that. A vulgar-minded knee-jerk who believes history began with his entry to the scene generally won't have the patience to develop any context or perspective by which to assess the deterioration of this once great game. My hope is you're not one, though your username suggests otherwise.

  • @xuan8839 Interesting take, but hardly true. The sport was not dying, in fact, quite the opposite. ABC membership (now USBC) was 5 times what it is today. 24hr bowling alleys were the norm while few of them even remain standing today. No, the cause is the BPAA's takeover of the USBC. Imagine golf courses with greens that funnel to the cup. That's what proprietors will do if allowed to.

  • Honestly, these clowns would never even cash in the 70's PBA. And what are they using, 2.5lb pins? Or are the balls just that juiced.

  • @20alphabet It had to be that way. A sport would be dying if it is difficult to pick up or it being "unfriendly" .It has to be something that is easy to pick up but requires big time and efforts to master,so that many will join and push the influence and development and only the best out of the best is up to compete on top...that is the main form any of the successful commercialized sport goes on in the world today. You got to compromise a bit to balance it out for the survival. Sad but true.

  • @20alphabet

The ball technology has changed drastically since the 70's, you can't get mad at the players for using it. Also, the guys from the 70's would be destroyed by today's oil patterns, so it's not like the players today aren't extremely talented. In fact, an argument could be made that the game on the PBA tour is as hard today as it ever was. The pro oil patterns make you shoot more accurately and force the average player to play more lines than ever before.

  • @20alphabet put it this way....if u took the top guy from 70's and top guy now, and threw them in a alley with just 2 lanes oiled up like they have never seen b4, 9 out of 10 times the "NEW" age bowler would win, same in all sports, athletes today are better than athletes of yesterday,

  • you are so amazing for uploading these fantastic games thank you!
