Jerma, a great spot for a sentry gun is by the spawn with the railing. You put the SG behind the railing and it shoots through it. It makes it very difficult for sollys and demos to take it out because it is guarded by the railing. Only thing you have to watch for are spies since it is a secondary spawn and not many people go down there.

I had the same problem on Hoodoo the other day. This other Engie kept building his SG right behind mine, and/or his Dispenser right behind mine! Do you think he could at least hit my SG when it took damage? Nope, just kept sitting there banging on his Dispenser.

tip for nesting engies:

when shit hits the fan(uber in other words) do this:

1. wrangle your sentry

2. switch to wrench and repair it.

this way you have a chance to save it, bcuz the shield is working for 3 secs after u switch to wrench and give 66% damage reduction!!

@spam1712 Problem with that is there is no knockback on the uber pair.

So a good Demo will kill you, lay some more stickies and then blow up your sentry when the shield wears off.

Either that, or he'll just kill all your teammates.

Pyro: Kills you first, then Sentry is just dead.

Soldier: Ditto.

Heavy: Probably kill your mates.

I had this exact same problem last time I played Badwater. No matter where I put my sentry, the other guy would put it right next to mine; I'd explain that wasn't a good idea, move it, and he'd follow me. Rinse and repeat. Just had the same problem on an Upward defense, too. Wouldn't you know it; both caused our sentries to be obliterated.

1 sticky does 138 damage at its center, gradually reducing to 0 at a distance of ~7 feet. a level 3 building has 216 health. 216/138=1.56. this means that if 2 stickies are placed within 2 feet of a building, it will GUARANTEED be destroyed*. buildings do not absorb damage, so theoretically, 2 stickies could destroy infinite buildings as long as they are within 2 feet. I think this is how it works. *except wrangled sentries as the shield blocks %66.67 of incoming damage.

@addisino Ya, it is 2 theoretically, but in a lot of cases, you wont be able to precisely get a sticky in the perfect position, thats why 3 is a good number before detonation. Good number crucnhing here though.
