I think that everyone is missing the point. This is what is great about music...it's your own interpretation and for that I commend you. Who cares what "Rachmaninoff wanted". Did any of these people actually know what he wanted. I say bravo!
hmm.....Rachmaninoff himself played fast, your tempo is not the bone I have to pick with you, it's your dynamics that I hate -.- you absolutely neglected the many pianissimo dynamics that this piece had, the beginning -.- oh man oh man, that s NOT leggiero, how it is supposed to be -.- I really hate judging on pieces that are very difficult for me, but really, oh no Sir. But I do congratulate your for playing this piece :P not easy. I wish I had more technique.
It was really only the middle section that he played WAY too fast. Otherwise, the tempo he played the rest of the piece is similar to the tempo Rachmaninoff used. Although, he should use more, well, rubatos? that's probably not the right word...but more "tempo changes." In other words, listen to a Rachmaninoff recording and you will see what I mean!!! One more thing...he should not change the ending!!!
You keep making this point. I think it is better to perform a piece at a tempo you can control and express yourself in. Maybe Rachmaninoff could play it this fast, but this performance seems to sacrifice a lot to get the tempo. I have lost marks from adjudicators on this point before.
Sorry dude, but you really ruined the piece, if you listen to the better interpretations of it, the dynamics and rythm are a lot better, this isn't the way Rachmaninoff would have wanted it to be played, you really ruined it with the pace, But I give you props for being able to play really fast.
Hey, I worked on that one when I was 13(I'm a big Rachmaninoff fan), but by the time I got to the last 3 pages, it got a little over my head:) I could probably pull it off now, but I haven't tried recently. But anyway, Great job.

I don't think it is too fast... but there is a real inconsistency in tempo a times, which really confuses the phrasing.

you play too fast...we cannot hear and listen the real music written...especially from 2:40 to 2:50
But you're very strong technically =)

Whoa whoa whoa! Slow down and take a look at the dynamics! M. 31, e.g., is pianissimo!

rachmaninoff was quite the composer..his peices have lots of emotions..he and mozart are my favorite to play..

most of the time you can't hear the melody (esp in the part with chords in both hands). slow it down a bit and add some dynamics.

I do think you are in the right lane, carry on, please.

you played it very fast. hmm. it suits, but only in 2.41-2.52 I think i t should be played slowlier, coz I don;t hear the melody.

@MartinaFromPoland If you know the melody, in my opinion it stands out quite well.

are you comfortable with yourself as a person?

please never do this again. its horrible, too fast, strange notes, the andante is slower, there´s no dynamic changes...

absolutely horrid. way too fast taking the peice out of character. a disaster.

Listen to Rachmaninoff's piano roll recording of this it is supposed to be this fast; if not even quicker!!!!!!!!!!

I can't argue you with you there; he did have some issues with dynamics. I was just clarifying the wrong "tempo issue."

Too fast??
I think it's supposed to be a slower base tempo. I couldn't hear what was going on.
