The British people miss spelt WODEYAR OR UDAIYAR as Wadiyar... but its not WADIYAR... the actual surname or caste name is WODEYAR (UDAIYAR).

@ssd777 . It is a matter of personal choice for the family to spell their surname as they want. British has nothing to do with it, except they brought English to India! What gives you the right to say it should have been Udaiyar ?

For the record the last five generations of the dynasty have signed and officially spelt their name as WADIYAR ! It is futile to argue otherwise !
