A lot of ignorance is shown in these remarks. Karpov and Kasparov were about equal and in a league of there own when they were in their prime. None of the current lot of players has yet proven himself on the same level (maybe Carlsen someday?). Karpov was truly an awesome player.

It's true I know nothing of recent chess, I don't follow every event. But I've seen that in recent match Karpov vs. Kasparov in 2009, Karpov couldn't play well in short time. Ok it's the age, but I wonder if in a series of matches with standard time who can beat Karpov and his experience? @CaptainSvy well... Kramnik actually defeated Kasparov in a 12-game match. Kasparov was unable to win even a single game from Big Vlad and lost two himself. Credit is due to Kramnik who is the only person ever to win a match against Kaspy.

Yes it is. For blitz games nobody is required to write it down. This way the games of the great are still recorded. They also use these boards connected to computers in "normal time"matches. Then however the player also have to write down the moves. It is more for the (internet)audience so that they see the moves directly and don't have to wait for an operator.
