I agree with EVERY observation you made. Except for two. The 6 pack I had was very carbonated. . My first thought was that this was not an IPA but a regular Pale Ale or even an English Pale Ale. I personally would equate this with Sam Adams Boston Lager in flavor. The other point is about the home brew. I have consistently brew beers that are leaps and bounds above this one. But EVERY other point you made was accurate.

I left a comment yesterday about the gonzo imperial porter by flyingdogale and i went to two of the nearest places towards me that there website told me to go to.. and they haven't had it for years.. makes me want it more haha. can't wait for the review, your lucky to have it.

how is homebrew different than retail beer?

@tascaraft usually homebrews and craft beers are better because they use good ingredients. the big brewery's (bud, miller, coors) use corn, rice, adjuncts, and other fillers. they want quantity not quality. but some homebrews if not done right can be hard to drink. hope that helps. cheers!
