  • What a great way to start a song, these guys started it all man!!

  • people dont realise how important slade were, they influneced all the glam bands that came through the late 70s and 80s in particular KISS so any glam or just rock n roll fans who dont like slade, dont understand there own music genre.

  • The 1st song by Slade I discovered... And one of my faves, eventhough they didn't write it!

  • Noddy still wears tartan today! Slade you kept me sane during my teenage days!

  • What a showman - as ever!

  • Swell Maps' cover is better.

    And absolutely hilarious.

  • @lovewithanapparition

  • Pop with uber gnads!

  • I LOVE ROCK AND ROLL !

  • I saw them in 197? one of the best live, sounded better live like Status Quo

  • there's any person who don't make wha he says?

  • you are witnessing the greatest rock band in the world singing the greatest rock number in the history of,,,,,well lets call it,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,rock,,,,slade the guvnors,,

  • Geniaal !

  • I always thought noddy looked like an antiques dealer like david dickinson

  • what is the model of the guitar?

  • haha. poor partying krashny =)

  • Is he the lost cousin of Brian Johnson?

  • i would have been out of fuckin control they would have had to drag me out of there

  • The only songs I've heard from them are "Cum on Feel the Noize," "Ginny Ginny," and "Get Down and Get With It;" but they are ALREADY one of my favorite bands, and I've only listened to these songs within 10 minutes. They're THAT good.

  • los reyes del glam rock por muchoo... viva slade!!

  • One of my first ever gigs was Slade at the Odeon in Birmingham UK back in April 74.

I saw them a couple of time in the early 80's, too. One of the best live bands I've ever seen and this song was an encore and and absolute party.

My dream is for them to get back together for one last tour. I know it's not goign to happen but I can dream.

  • If you can't party to this then you've been dead a long time. LONG LIVE SLADE.

  • what year is this band out of? looks like mid 70s but not sure if it is even earlier out of the 60s

  • @brandon6pk Early seventies, I think :).

  • @brandon6pk This song was from 1971. This is era of Glam rock ;).

  • @GlamZinoPL ok thanks it looks like it was out of the 70s judging on how the song sounded and the color quality of the video thanks again

  • @brandon6pk first record from 1969.

  • The intro is Little Richard... and Little Richard's great!

    And Slade's great!

  • @joriszsz The whole song is a Little Richard cover word for word. Richard recorded this for Columbia in 1966. It was top ten in England '66''67 towards the end of 1966 I beleive. Little Richard, the King of Rock n' Roll and the Emancipator of Soul. Slade sure does know's how to pick'em cause they're groov'n on this one. A+++

  • @skyeboatman I was going to comment but you said it all really : )

  • if you dont move to this you are dead, commanding flawless live brilliance from noddy dave jim and don, when you had to sell 250,00 singles plus to get #1 not like the rigged simple simon cowel charts of today when u need 5000 sales

  • Oh, HELL YEAH!! The first concert I ever saw was way back in '76: Nazareth, Slade, and the Ian Gillan Band at the Bismarck, ND Civic Center. Slade owned the place, and me and my buddies all but blew out our vocal chords screamin'! This is rock and roll, and this audience is a bunch of zombies.

  • @Zygamo58 be carefull Dan Mccafferty from nazareth is the only guy who can beat Noddy in a good day of course... two forces of nature.Gillan is very good ,but is human Noddy and Dan are not Lol

  • Slade were fucking good!

I was priviledged indeed to see them live - but on a big stage. I'm very jealous of my big Sister, though. Being a few years older she used to go and see them regularly in the early days when they had a Saturday night residency at the Connaught Hotel in Wolverhampton.

200 fans in a cramped basement club - Oh happy days!

I asked her recently how well she remembered hearing them.

She said very well, but you didn't really hear them, you more... FELT them! ;-)

  • How fucking good were Slade?

  • I would have cried great torrents of drunken, scalding tears had I been able to see them live like this...wow.

  • Great band ...... Huge in Australia....

  • do you have an mp3 of this song

  • I remember seeing Slade with Status Quo opening. Best gig I ever seen!

  • Dont be a cunt!

  • Dear MMininal. I see from your age, where you live, and the videos on your homepage, that you just don't understand this sort of thing. So shut the fuck up until you know what you're talking about.

  • auuuuu¡¡¡¡¡ slade rules

  • 0.02 The face of a man who knows he's about to blow them all away.

  • Meine Fresse....das geht rein...Noddy´s Stimme klingt wie eine Kreissäge nach einer Doppelschicht...gleich platzt sie..

  • Thanks sk

everyone get out of the way...there's a freight train coming right at ya.........

    "AAAAAAAAALLLLLRIGGGHHHTTT........"

    swooosh

    (melbourne)

  • Todays bands cant compare with bands like this. Thats why slade continues to live on and on.

  • Dont this make ya want to get down and get with it ... Super band, always a Slade fan

  • One of the glam bands that RAWKED! Best British singer period!

  • Really Underrated band. One of my favorite band and it reminds me how they were great! Thanks for posting this one.

  • This is one of the greatest rocking tunes I have ever heard but it's not something they are known for - for me it is on a par with kick out the jams MC5

  • Fantastic band, very rootsy with lots of energy, and they play so well with each other.

  • Great voice....

reminds me of Brian Johnsons voice

  • Noddy's voice is the greatest voice of all time and Slade one of the best best bands ever !

  • Jim plays the bass like a lead guitar! One of the most underrated musicians of the 20th century,in the most underrated band of the 20the century!

  • Awesome!

  • Fuckin' Slade.

    Hell yeah!!!!!

  • Brought a big smile to my face! Thank you sk73.

  • Platform shoes were wild. I had some 6 inch ones at one time. It took some courage to wear them at first. thank god the bell bottoms hid them somewhat or I could not have broke the ice with them

  • A voice that could knock down a brick wall ...

  • Great performance based upon Little Richard's originally U.K.-only "Get Down With It" (aka "Do The Jerk"). (Now on Edsel CD). This rocker is often confused with Bobby Marchan's "Get Down With It", 95% different! A slight alteration of the title doesn't detract from the most exciting rendition ever - the Architect himself probably loved the 4 piece power unit. My-my-my!!!

  • it may be confused with Marhans version cos thats what it said on the original slade alive album credits.. ( not that Im old enougth to remember of course..)

  • Research shows that LR himself has copyright on a song titled Get Down With It and another titled Do The Jerk. Just to add to the chaos...and the fun. Ace Records (U.K.) is apparently prepared to release "Do The Jerk" by LR for the first time on CD!

    Thanks for the hip reply!!

  • Well AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLRIIIIIIIIIGGGHHHHT EVERYBOOOOODYYYY!

  • My GAAAAAADH! This was the best 70's live performance I've seen on youtube so faar.

Noddy Holder in the 70's! Who can beat those rubber band vocal cords? NO ONE!!!!! I am a vocal teacher and this is just out of this solar system!!!! Laughing my ass off in joy and woreshipping Noddy over all power singers!

  • Saw Slade twice at Winterland in San Francisco. What a great "noize"!!

I'll have to try to find my photos of them.

  • This song is amazing truly powerfull and this performance is awesome! Keep on rockin' and get down and get with it baby!!! 5*
