people dont realise how important slade were, they influneced all the glam bands that came through the late 70s and 80s in particular KISS so any glam or just rock n roll fans who dont like slade, dont understand there own music genre.
you are witnessing the greatest rock band in the world singing the greatest rock number in the history of,,,,,well lets call it,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,rock,,,,slade the guvnors,,
Why I wasn't born in the 50's? Then, when I was 10 years old to 40 years old I had gone to concerts of The Beatles, Rolling Stones, The Who, Cream, The Animals, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Blue Cheer, The Doors, Jimi Hendrix, Iron Butterfly, Ted Nugent, Aerosmith, AC / DC, Scorpions, KISS, Mötley Crüe, Slade, Motörhead, Diamond Head, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Van Halen, Queen, and of course, Anthrax, Slayer, Megadeth and Metallica, YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The only songs I've heard from them are "Cum on Feel the Noize," "Ginny Ginny," and "Get Down and Get With It;" but they are ALREADY one of my favorite bands, and I've only listened to these songs within 10 minutes. They're THAT good.
Tighter than a sharks arse at 50 fathoms! Dave, Jim, Noddy & Don. Fukin' EXPLOSIVE! Along with the Feelgoods, best live act I've seen (Liverpool Empire '75.)
@joriszsz The whole song is a Little Richard cover word for word. Richard recorded this for Columbia in 1966. It was top ten in England '66''67 towards the end of 1966 I beleive. Little Richard, the King of Rock n' Roll and the Emancipator of Soul. Slade sure does know's how to pick'em cause they're groov'n on this one. A+++
I remember this from my high school days cruising on the Swan River, Perth and dancing with a teacher and holding his hand which would be a problem these days.
Saw Slade at the MCN biker weekend at Butlins, Skegness about 5 years ago. Still as good as when I saw them in79/80 at a student hall in Sheffield. Brilliant live band and totally underated.
wow, Nod's voice must be the rock voice of all time.....don't think anyone really appreciated it at the time, but listening to this version of GDAGWI really puts some thunder into the song,, wow......
My 50th birthday party in a couple of weeks and this will definitely be played! Makes me feel like a teen again. Who the f*ck needs JLS??? Noddy and the boys were a great boy band of the day.

Oh, HELL YEAH!! The first concert I ever saw was way back in '76: Nazareth, Slade, and the Ian Gillan Band at the Bismarck, ND Civic Center. Slade owned the place, and me and my buddies all but blew out our vocal chords screamin'! This is rock and roll, and this audience is a bunch of zombies.
@Zygamo58 be carefull Dan Mccafferty from nazareth is the only guy who can beat Noddy in a good day of course... two forces of nature.Gillan is very good ,but is human Noddy and Dan are not Lol
Not many bands (even the Beatles) could do justice to a Little Richard number in a live performance but Slade certainly gave this one their full treatment!
Fuckin awsome! saw em at Bill Grahams Winterland in 1975, they tore the joint up! Put this song by your dads ear before he has to wake up, ohh Noddy, ya gave me dad a heart attack, law suit, nahhh! (;
fuck me, slade, sladest, slade alive, they were my 1st albumbs i brought, they were the bollocks, rupert check trousers, platforms, slade socks, like it was yesterday, tuesday dinner waiting for the top 20, they always went straight in at number 1
I was priviledged indeed to see them live - but on a big stage. I'm very jealous of my big Sister, though. Being a few years older she used to go and see them regularly in the early days when they had a Saturday night residency at the Connaught Hotel in Wolverhampton.

Great performance based upon Little Richard's originally U.K.-only "Get Down With It" (aka "Do The Jerk"). (Now on Edsel CD). This rocker is often confused with Bobby Marchan's "Get Down With It", 95% different! I saw them a couple of time in the early 80's, too. One of the best live bands I've ever seen and this song was an encore and and absolute party.
My dream is for them to get back together for one last tour. I know it's not goign to happen but I can dream.
