@Bimmersrule19 personally i dont like the new M5. I absolutely hate the hood and those ugly lines in it but thats just me. But it depends on what you like. The current M3 is extremely beautiful and it has a naturally aspirated V8 which, although its not a V6 its still more of a purist car than a TT V6 in the next one which is basically a 335i now. All about what you like better lol if you want a big car to cruise around in go M5 but if you want something more nimble go M3.

@iloveparc There's always going to be a new M version. When the time came to make the purchase I was having a hard time finding a pre-owned E46 (what I originally wanted) that I felt confident enough with to call my own so it made more sense for me to go new. Even though it was more money I knew I would be happier.

@readygo242 The M3 is the drivers car of choice and always will be. I graduated with a degree in Marketing and do a few things right now. I help small businesses with their social networking and marketing strategies, I run a small digital media group, and I also sell cars. Hopefully, by the end of the year I won't need to sell cars anymore but we'll see.

@XxSoWeavyGawdxX It is good for everyday use as long as you can fight the urge to rip on it. Everything about this car is addicting, the sound, the power, the way it feels. It really is a special car but it's also a good car for every day use. It is a wolf in sheeps clothing.
@SOUPRFLY1 I wanted an E92 M3 since 2008, don't like the way BMW is going with the new M cars, and this is the last production BMW that's using a high revving engine with ITB's. This car is worth having just for those reasons alone.
@SOUPRFLY1 LMAO. Poor mans luxury vehicle? I don't give a shit about the image my cars portray. I like BMW's for how they ride, handle, and look. I disagree with you that it looks similar to a E92 coupe because the M3 is significantly wider and bulkier. The R8 that similarly performs to my M3 is the Audi R8 V8 and it costs well over 100K which is out of my price range. Not to mention I raced one on the highway and pulled on it past 100MPH.
@xVolKaniK No way, I would never put an air ride on a BMW let alone an M3. It's a sports car capable of going 180 MPH+ and still handle like it's on rails. I'll be going with a coilover system, either a KW V3 or Bilstein PSS10, but keeping the camber, caster, and toe at factor specs witht he lower ride height.
@EvenSteven2004 Competition package doesn't make the car handle any better, EDC is essentially useless, and the only part of the competition package I like are the wheels. I'm saving my money for KW V3 coil overs and Rogue Engineering toe arms.
@foleygac, I would have gotten it for the wheels and tires alone. The wider offset just makes it look awesome. My neighbor got the Competition package on his and the car looks so much better with those wheels and their wider stance.
@EvenSteven2004 The tires sizes are the same but wheels are only half an inch wider. The wheels I'm feeling for my M3 down the road are the Breyton GTS-R's and I would likely go into a 20" wheel. I specifically stayed away from the competition package because of the EDC system as I planned on going coilovers eventually. I didn't want to pay for a feature I wasn't going to use especially when the money could have gone somewhere else.
@foleygac, okay. I just love the OEM Competition pkg wheels. They look fantastic on the car. If it were my car, I would just get those wheels and never change them. Be careful moving to 20" wheels---you'll end up with a stiff ride and be even more susceptible to bending the rims and/or frogging the sidewalls. Trust me, been there, done that.

This is a long time ago at this point and I've been done with school since December. I work hard and that's all there is to it.

@S1ruMan Couldnt have said it better myself. It doesn't add any performance that is noticeable and then you are forced to have EDC which is useless. I'd rather spend the money on a set of KW V3 coilovers before buying the competition package. This car has no EDC BTW which is just the way I want it.
Please do your m3 a favor and get it a new set of shoes. I just got some BBS LM's on mine and i get compliments everyday. I know you just got out of college and stuff is expensive. But rims are the way to go.

got the same car, do an ess supercharger plus snows water meth... akra exhaust, rogue engineering short shift, P40 polished wheels, body kit from vorsteiner... custom carbon interiors, brembo brakes, and you cant really add the BMW performance seats since you choose red interiors.. but there you go, your list of mods... oh ya, angel ibright lights too...

@Homer626 Yeah, it was an amazing day. Still think about it from time to time and it puts a smile on my face. No, this M3 is pretty basic actually. Only options were the paint, interior, trim, navigation, and the wheels.
@foleygac yeah I even went back to Habberstad this time to give the salesman a chance to redeem himself. Wasn't looking at another M at first. Wanted a 535xi and his best price was $950 with taxes and first payment up front! If anyone is planning on buying/leasing from there, don't. Greenwich is about an hour away from them and they quoted the same 535xi for $769 before blowing my mind with the $799 price on my M3 convertible
@dimitrifw $799 is a damn good deal on the M3 for sure. Glad Greenwich took care of you. Same thing for me with Ridgefield BMW. Before I moved to Hartford I lived in Danbury. Ridgefield is 5 minutes from my house but after it was bought by Bridgeport and management changed the dealership sort of went down hill. That's why I chose to go to Darien. I heard nothing but good things about them and I'm glad I bought my M3 through them. It also helps that my family does business with them too.

This time around though I got away with murder. $3,700 down/$799.50 monthly and convertible no less. Couldn't believe it. F*** Habberstad BMW. They just lost a customer to Greenwich.
@dimitrifw Yeah, you definitely got screwed on your lease without a doubt. I'm sorry to hear that but there are some dealers out there that are dishonest and don't care about customers. I'm currently in the process of dealing with one of those dealerships (it's not the one I bought my car from) which damaged my other car when they worked on it. Dealerships like that deserve to lose repeat business and I'm glad Greenwich took care of you this time around. They have an amazing service center too.
@foleygac - nice! Perfect color combination. Got my M3 when they came out in '08 after 9 months on the waiting list. Got interlagos with beige but was always second guessing my color choice..yours was my other color setup. My lease is up next month and I just ordered another one..this time I went with an M3 convertible, space gray with fox/black combo for interior. Cant wait..six weeks to go.
@dimitrifw Congrats on your second M3. I didn't even second guess any other color combos when I ordered this. Space Gray for some reason makes this car really pop without standing out. I went to my first car show yesterday with it and with clear skies it really stood out amongst other cars there. People also swarmed to it as well and in general were really excited to see a newer M3. Post some videos up when you get your new M3.

@happytobeproud Congratulations man! Yes, the wait is brutal and looking back at it I don't know how I managed to do it. I ordered this car on July 23, 2010 and picked it up on October 11, 2010 so I had about a 3 month wait. It was worth it all in the end though. Best of luck and thanks for the blessing. @foleygac i see... coz i'm kinda confused on which is the better transmission to get for that M3. some say get the dual clutch coz it shifts very fast (although it's faulty at times which i don't like) and some say get the 6-speed manual because it's better when it's in manual.
@bonzie1645 DCT transmission is an expensive option for a marginal performance gain IMHO. Honestly, I've always preferred a standard transmission on a street car and likely will continue to feel that way no matter how good automated manual transmissions get. Not to mention the maintenance on the DCT is much more intensive and the 6-speed overall is more receptive to power mods.
@foleygac i see... thanks for that. now i know what to consider when buying an M3. i like DCTs fro some reason but for a car like the M3 i think manual suits better. thanks again. :)
@bonzie1645 No problem, the manual since it's broken in is very accurate with wicked short throws. The only thing I would mod is add a short shifter and delete the clutch delay valve since it can interfere with the engagement of the clutch on fast shifts. I'll do it down the road for sure but my primary concern with DCT is if I ever supercharge this car I know it doesn't respond well to a massive power increase.
@foleygac i see... another question does deleting the clutch delay valve improves the shift change time? i'm just worried about damaging the transmission in the long run.
@nima0071 Yeah, my car came with the start/stop button but I don't have any opinion on it one way or the other to be honest. It's quickly becoming standard on everything.
@flatt585 Yeah, the North East sucks right now. I wouldn't mind living in California except for the fact I'd have to leave all my friends and family behind. @bluefirechicken I graduated college with no student loans, made a few investments a couple of years ago that I cashed in on (lucky as hell), and I don't have huge living expenses. It also helps that I have good credit. If I waited to buy my dream car I don't think I'd be able to afford it just based on the cost of living and the price to raise a family. I kind of figured I might as well do it while I'm young and I can enjoy it. The money could have been used better but I don't regret it.

I disagree with you that it looks similar to a E92 coupe because the M3 is significantly wider and bulkier. The R8 that similarly performs to my M3 is the Audi R8 V8 and it costs well over 100K which is out of my price range. Not to mention I raced one on the highway and pulled on it past 100MPH.

@xVolKaniK No way, I would never put an air ride on a BMW let alone an M3. It's a sports car capable of going 180 MPH+ and still handle like it's on rails. I'll be going with a coilover system, either a KW V3 or Bilstein PSS10, but keeping the camber, caster, and toe at factor specs witht he lower ride height.

@EvenSteven2004 Competition package doesn't make the car handle any better, EDC is essentially useless, and the only part of the competition package I like are the wheels. I'm saving my money for KW V3 coil overs and Rogue Engineering toe arms.

@foleygac, I would have gotten it for the wheels and tires alone. The wider offset just makes it look awesome. My neighbor got the Competition package on his and the car looks so much better with those wheels and their wider stance.

@EvenSteven2004 The tires sizes are the same but wheels are only half an inch wider. The wheels I'm feeling for my M3 down the road are the Breyton GTS-R's and I would likely go into a 20" wheel. I specifically stayed away from the competition package because of the EDC system as I planned on going coilovers eventually. I didn't want to pay for a feature I wasn't going to use especially when the money could have gone somewhere else.

@foleygac, okay. I just love the OEM Competition pkg wheels. They look fantastic on the car. If it were my car, I would just get those wheels and never change them. Be careful moving to 20" wheels---you'll end up with a stiff ride and be even more susceptible to bending the rims and/or frogging the sidewalls. Trust me, been there, done that.

got the same car, do an ess supercharger plus snows water meth... akra exhaust, rogue engineering short shift, P40 polished wheels, body kit from vorsteiner... custom carbon interiors, brembo brakes, and you cant really add the BMW performance seats since you choose red interiors.. but there you go, your list of mods... oh ya, angel ibright lights too...

Wanted a 535xi and his best price was $950 with taxes and first payment up front! If anyone is planning on buying/leasing from there, don't. Greenwich is about an hour away from them and they quoted the same 535xi for $769 before blowing my mind with the $799 price on my M3 convertible

@dimitrifw $799 is a damn good deal on the M3 for sure. Glad Greenwich took care of you. Same thing for me with Ridgefield BMW. Before I moved to Hartford I lived in Danbury. Ridgefield is 5 minutes from my house but after it was bought by Bridgeport and management changed the dealership sort of went down hill. That's why I chose to go to Darien. I heard nothing but good things about them and I'm glad I bought my M3 through them. It also helps that my family does business with them too.

This time around though I got away with murder. $3,700 down/$799.50 monthly and convertible no less. Couldn't believe it. F*** Habberstad BMW. They just lost a customer to Greenwich.

@dimitrifw Yeah, you definitely got screwed on your lease without a doubt. I'm sorry to hear that but there are some dealers out there that are dishonest and don't care about customers. I'm currently in the process of dealing with one of those dealerships (it's not the one I bought my car from) which damaged my other car when they worked on it. Dealerships like that deserve to lose repeat business and I'm glad Greenwich took care of you this time around. They have an amazing service center too.

Got interlagos with beige but was always second guessing my color choice..yours was my other color setup. My lease is up next month and I just ordered another one..this time I went with an M3 convertible, space gray with fox/black combo for interior. Cant wait..six weeks to go.

I went to my first car show yesterday with it and with clear skies it really stood out amongst other cars there. People also swarmed to it as well and in general were really excited to see a newer M3. Post some videos up when you get your new M3.

@foleygac i see... coz i'm kinda confused on which is the better transmission to get for that M3. some say get the dual clutch coz it shifts very fast (although it's faulty at times which i don't like) and some say get the 6-speed manual because it's better when it's in manual.

@bonzie1645 DCT transmission is an expensive option for a marginal performance gain IMHO. Honestly, I've always preferred a standard transmission on a street car and likely will continue to feel that way no matter how good automated manual transmissions get. Not to mention the maintenance on the DCT is much more intensive and the 6-speed overall is more receptive to power mods.

@bonzie1645 No problem, the manual since it's broken in is very accurate with wicked short throws. The only thing I would mod is add a short shifter and delete the clutch delay valve since it can interfere with the engagement of the clutch on fast shifts. I'll do it down the road for sure but my primary concern with DCT is if I ever supercharge this car I know it doesn't respond well to a massive power increase.

@bluefirechicken I graduated college with no student loans, made a few investments a couple of years ago that I cashed in on (lucky as hell), and I don't have huge living expenses. It also helps that I have good credit. If I waited to buy my dream car I don't think I'd be able to afford it just based on the cost of living and the price to raise a family. I kind of figured I might as well do it while I'm young and I can enjoy it. The money could have been used better but I don't regret it.

The M3 with financing, taxes, and registration is just shy of $70K MSRP, however I put a pretty good down payment on it so I didn't finance the entire amount.
