  • Please Ron whole lap please! Thumbs up for McLaren putting whole lap up.

  • 7min28sec ??!! I expect it to be around 7min20sec .......... How can a GTR which has less power and heavier did it only 7min24sec ??!!

  • @Jeremyevo90 this is the first official run for the car around Nordschleife, normally cars can cut down atleast 5 seconds with their subsequent runs, the GTR didnt get 724 on its first run.

  • @Jeremyevo90 Has this guy not just demonstrated that he went 10 seconds quicker than he did with the GTR? If one man has driven the above list of cars around in those speeds, they're probably much more relevant than the 'official' ring list

  • Put some michelin pilot sport cup tires and Sabine Schmitz behind the wheel and I bet this thing will go even faster...

I mean.. the lady overtook mean-ass cars while driving a Ford Transit on that track.

  • @KhanTheTigon I'm sorry, a woman? She's bleed all over the seat and then have a go at you

  • Cant wait for Lamborghini Aventador lap time.... I think it will crack 7 minutes. Its insanely fast on all other tracks, and its gonna come into its own on Nurburgring with that epic 4WD, 700hp and racecar-like aerodynamics.

  • Turbocharged supercars are a waste of money no matter how fast they are! Don't pay a fortune for a laggy car! If you just want to be fast ...Get a nissan gtr! ...or buy a real naturally aspirated supercar like 458 or carrera gt!

  • @kdkalamariotis GTR iS turbocharged...twice (' o')/ NA cars i do prefer tho

  • That is extremely fast considering that the conditions weren't perfect! Would love to see what it could do in the bone dry!

  • I will love to drive it, but is way 2 fast for me....<3

  • i wonder how fast can the car go with semi-slicks tyres.

  • @jackeykang89 What's the difference between the normal tires this car is using and semi-slick tires?

  • faster than the 458 for sure, but is it cooler? don't think so.

  • @serginietor Oh, I think so..

  • @dabomb4333 really?

i'm no one to judge you, but in my opinion, the "coolness" of the McLaren is its sheer speed, but the 458 is more exciting to look at, it makes a better noise and just seems more like a racing car, I feel the McLaren is more of a technological showcase rather than a proper legendary car ( I would rather have the old McLaren F1 rather than this one, but again, that's just me)

  • @serginietor In many tracks the ferrari is faster like bedford autodrome, but apart from that the ferrari is a far better drive. If I want a turbocharged car I don't need to spend a fortune, I can modify any car or get a nissan gtr. If you want a real supercar (n/a) Get a Ferrari!

  • @kdkalamariotis I agree with you, I'd rather have the ferrari than the mclaren.

  • @kdkalamariotis I'd rather have a Porsche, least then it won't catch on fire :)

  • @MrsShadowBroker I'd rather have the McLaren at least it won't be a based on a Beetle, i agree on the Ferrari, never too sure if it might go up in flames.

  • @jackrandall Won't be based on a Beetle? What do people like you like to stereotype a lot? The first Porsche 911 shared a few underpinnings with the original Beetle and that's about it, the new 991 type is a different car altogether after a number of decades. The new Carrera S does 7:40 at the Nurburgring right of the production line, how's that for the normal 'standard' 911. Imagine what the new 911 Turbo can do then, better yet, what the 911 Turbo S can do.

  • @jackrandall Not to worry, everyone seems to be designing their cars to look like Ferrari's these days (MP4-12C, Spyder 918 ...)

  • @jackrandall If you think 911 is based on a bettle and if you look at it like that....then maybe you should consider learning a bit more about cars.

  • Wow thats pretty inpressive results at the end just four seconds away from the other cars, and they have semi slick tires.

  • Doesn't matter how it looks, because while you are sitting in the car all you can see is the interior and feel the Raw yet subtle power.

  • body style doesn't impress me as much as the speed, qualities, and all, but who cares! one of the most unbelievable vehices iver ever seen.

  • @McLarenAutomotiveTV

we want to listen to the car, not some dodgy music!

Awesome car, though I don't understand when people say the McLaren is better in every way than the 458, and then say the 458 is the better car :/

  • People, these lap times are the times he did in those cars, not the official lap times made by the manufacturers themselves.

  • Awesome car, but the time list is grossly inaccurate.

  • i need these supercar

  • give free for someone

  • The list at 2:56 can't be right can it...

i've seen something along the lines of the GT-R and ZR1 being low 7:20s

  • @OwnedRaze This list is way out but then it's very selective as to how modified these cars are ie semi slicks . I remember years ago (2008?) a Ferrari Enzo did it in 7:25 which at the time was unbelievable. I think this list should be updated so as not to give the incorrect impression. I don't doubt the McLaren is a brilliant car but the test is at Nurburgring.

  • @VonTripps Mhm indeed, ideally it would very very difficult to get an fair and up to date set of results since it would have to be the same driver for all those cars (insuring same skill) and same weather conditions etc. I go through to much lab work, 'fair tests' are etched into my brain lol

    Either way, MP4 is a beast (y)

  • James May isn't going to be happy

  • Love this car and love this track. Couldn't have a better combination!

  • I raced that car round the same track twice today on Forza 4... until the servers went down...

  • MP4-12C is god damn beautiful

  • lame car

  • i have one of these... on forza 4

  • i have one of these

  • wow...where are you getting your lap times from? severely misleading...

  • LOL an automatic

  • Great video, but I was disappointed with the times they posted of other cars at the end. The ZR1 ran the ring in 7:21 not 7:38.

  • @c32amgftw :l They Should have posted both the Radical SR8 times 6:48 and 6:55

  • R35 + another £50k tweaking = No.1

  • I hope mclaren make a more hardcore version, lightened with 700hp just to stomp the competition once and for all. The tech on that car is crazy.

  • Shame their F1 team isn't up to this level!! :p

  • porsche 911 gt2 rs still at the top . i like this car tho its smart looking .

  • I have one! on Forza 4 ;(

  • It would be nice if they allowed us to view JUST the in-car camera around the entire track, for the full 7+ minutes. Not the cut-shots to the driver every 3 seconds. I want to see the entire lap!

  • viper and the zr-1 stomped this things ass

  • @redhot916spd

Troll? or did you not watch to 2:56? This car is a full 10 seconds faster than the ZR-1. In the world of motorsport thats more like 10 years.

  • @soulofnero The list at 2.56 must be filtered in some way, or perhaps slightly different track layout, Lap record was 6.48 by a Radical, the ZR1 has a time of 7.19.63. Looks like a dozen cars missing from this list, all faster than 7.24. Maybe different criteria. Viper ACR recently set a time of 7.12.13.

  • @redhot916spd Congratulations Sir, you have proven yourself to be among the least intelligent percentile of YouTubers . Well done!

  • @redhot916spd And the Radical Destroys all <3 :3

  • 2:56 old data

  • even as a ferrari tifosi, i must say the mac looks so much better in person.

  • @Marcus1130 Oh do be quiet, you just badge chase. Alot of top motor sports teams are UK based, and a hell of alot of cars are built here too. You can argue that many Nissans are Brit cars, same as the Honda Civic? Same way as you talk about a Rapide being Austrian...

  • Pretty good. I love the car, but give me an LFA any day! Even faster on its road tyres! :)

  • That time was shit, I ran the track in 3:45.

  • @jellybeeeaan92 pfff i ran it in 30 sec with a prius

  • If you think this car is crap then i want to know what you drive.

  • | come to the conclusion that 90% of the posts listed below are complete bull. Face it the car isn't just good, its very very good. The car was on the Corsa tyres which are semi-slicks but which are road legal. The Nissan GTR ran on semi-slicks no matter how much Nissan wants you to think otherwise. No car can perform lateral G's for that time without those tyres.

  • Give me a GT-R over all of those other cars, That would leave me 10 seconds behind but with 100 grand spare in my pocket. YES PLEASE!

  • Unbelievable fast, and if you disagree with me take a look a lap time in top gear test track!!!

  • KSA

  • @jimplaid Let me see, Jaguar and Range Rover are indian cars. Mini, Rolls Royce and Bentley are owned by German companies. Rover disappeared somewhere(?). Lotus are busy doing fancy sketches and Morgan still make their cars in wood (by hand). The kitcars you are mentioning I would not consider as cars. Did you also wonder why Top Gear (I believe they are English - all of them) preferred the Ferrar 458 as opposed to the McLaren? The "Empire" does not exist anymore ol' chap. Keep trying.

  • Not bad for such an ugly car. Even more surprising is that the suspension did not break down as it did in many other tests. Then again, it's built in England. No wonder why Aston Martin decided to build the Rapide in Austria...

  • @Marcus1130 trolling will not get you anywhere..everyone has the right to say what they think, but all you do is insult british people and british manufacturers..get a life and do something about that frustration..

  • @murphyloi If you call facts an insult, then let it be so. The only ones who are frustrated are the boys at Mc Laren after all of the leading British car magazines preferred the Ferrari 458 against the Mc Laren. Maybe they got a point or are they "trolling" as well?

  • @Marcus1130 Fact: it may seem ugly to you but for many others is beautiful..fact:ALL the cars have issues when releasing a new model fact:i don't see any british car magazine writer saying mclaren is rubbish..fact:they chose the 458 over the mclaren because it's a bit better NOT BECAUSE IT'S CRAP LIKE YOU STATED..trolling means posting hate comments, not your opinion, exactly like you did :)

  • @murphyloi love the facts! =]

  • Amazing car but the Corvette ZL1, Viper ACR, and Lexus LFA Nurburgring Package all beat this car.

  • @supercarsavy too bad that lexus car is not for sale

  • I am literally laughing out loud at the comments from people calling this car 'a heap of shit'. Thats the thing about youtube, it showcases all the dickheads in one place.

  • What is a semi-slick tires for Nissan GT-R?

Tread wear is more than three times higher than the Pirelli P Zero Corsa is using McLaren MP4-12C.

Pirelli P Zero Corsa: Treadwear rating 60

Dunlop SP Sport Maxx CT 600 DSST CTT: Treadwear rating 200

  • Semi slicks tires..it doesn't count.

  • @vitto Corvette ZR1 ran on semi-slick tires. Corvette ZO6 ran on semi-slick tires. Nissan GT-R ran on semi-slick tires....fact: all supercars are driven on track tires when they're lapping the Nurburgring. It takes 10-15 seconds off of the lap time. Ferrari 458 for example, set the 7:38 on stock road tires it comes with when you buy the car. With track semi-slick tires, it would run close to 7:20 as well.

  • Take 15 seconds using slicks..that Ferrari can rape those F458 wanna be.

  • imo, the nordschleife is too dependant on the endurance of the driver to be considered the absolute benchmark. But I don't really care about track times at all tbh. It's all about the feeling of the car for me.

  • how it can be called supercar while it is slower than coupes like viper, corvette???

  • @betkas13 I hope you are referring to the 458.

  • "it's astonishing! Is that it, 'astonishing'?"

"no that translates as roughly... "shit"

  • so many idiots said that top gear was biased to mclaren and that their lap times were fake...im pretty sure those idiots are keeping their mouth shut now...haha

  • @shobin05 Wow people actually claimed that? Geez.

  • @shobin05 Its funny how an idiot like you believes Sport Auto's time without any complete video. They are using MANUAL stopwatches to measure time on the track, while official times are done using motion sensors accurate to milliseconds.

  • @rforracing waw accurate stop watches would make a lot of diffrence...what 10 second gap?? even if they started early it wouldnt have been that big of a gap..they could stop for a fucking tea, you incompetent fool..

  • @shobin05 hahah you really are the bigger fool here. Ferrari 458 was 0.1 sec quicker than the Mclaren around the same track (same conditions, same driver). Here is the video link watch?v=RYUZrUpe61s

All you Mclaren fanboys are retards who believe the Top Gear and Sport Auto times. Top gear is biased towards British cars anyways. Mclaren was just MARKETING their car through Top Gear.

  • @rforracing so what youre saying is that top gear, the worlds most famous motoring show and this video is fake? yup i completely believe you genius, you seem to know what youre talking about...mclaren said they did this in one lap...which means the car could go even faster...i honestly couldnt care less about what you have to say, until their official time is set, you remember who won this argument....dumbass

  • @shobin05 You should know Mclaren will never officially lap the MP4 on Nurburgring. And did you even see the comparison video I gave you the link of?

EVOTV and Auto Express both tested 458 Italia and Mclaren on their tracks with the same driver and guess what? Ferrari was FASTER. Do your research dumb fuck.

  • @rforracing i HAVE seen it a long long time ago...it was still faster than the 458 in autocar test track, rockingham and a few more...do YOUR research dumbass..some tracks the ferrari was faster...but the nurburgring is the real test, because it really shows how big of a distance a car could pull away...and from where im sitting, ferrari is NOT going to be faster than this...no way in hell..

  • Dodge's first time out (3 damn years ago, with archaic, out-dated tech) with their plastic piece of shit Viper ACR ran quicker times, what the hell is going on McLaren? Come on McLaren, you can't beat the American shitbox Viper ACR? For a car costing 250K, these times suck. Plain and simple. Germans claim they do it better than anyone else, well, where is the proof? All that damn tech and you are 16 seconds behind a pile of shit called the Dodge Viper ACR.

  • @dobbins2550 Dont be a moron. ACR has done that time with fully slick tires and its like a racing car for road. Its got aerodynamic feaures on it that no other road car has. It has spoilers that are bigger than some small city cars... and it still is a piece of crap car. Its a car tuned specifically to go fast around track. Guess what, cars arent built to go around track. Its easy to make a car go fast around the track, but it will suck at everything else.

  • @dobbins2550 I hate when people look at things so one-dimensionally like you do. ACR might be fast on track, but its useless on roads with those tires and that suspension setup. Germans claim to build CARS better than anyone else, and they do. Because their cars do EVERYTHING. Not just go around track. They're comfortable, well built, luxurious, refined, AND fast. ACR is just fast. Its like a go-cart with a 600hp engine. MP4-12C, 458, 911 GT2, ZR1, GT-R...those are road CARS.

  • @dobbins2550 One more reason why ACR is so fast, is because, as you said, its a plastic shitbox. Its weighs nothing, because it has nothing inside, no radio, no aircon... Mclaren has all the luxury you can ever want from a car. Interior crafted from best materials possible. Its a comfortable and relaxing cruiser if you want it to be, and a hard-core race car when you want it to be. Thats why its a good car. And thats why ACR is not a good car. It doesnt work like a proper car in real world.

  • @derbigpr500 Wow... You really hate the Viper ACR! Why? When you buy a Supercar don't you want the car to as fast as possible? Claiming you have to be a millionaire to afford these cars and use them for recreational sport. I don't believe someone who can afford these cars would care about weather or not its "luxurious" because that would employ in economic terms the "Snobb effect". But, back to the point how can this car not be compared to such Supercars as the MP4? It depends on the consumer.

  • @dobbins2550 Viper ACR should never be compared to cars like MP4-12C, 458, 911 GT2, ZR1, GT-R... because its a road legal race car. By the way, lap times dont mean shit. You think you're gonna care whether you car can go around a track in 7:25 or 7:15? NO. Its about how the car drives, and thats one more category where ACR has nothing against those other supercars. You can buy a Formula 2 car if you want something faster than any car, but you dont buy it, because it doesnt work on road.

  • Aren't some of those times inaccurate?

  • @justin02camaro Those numbers aren't the official manufacturer given lap time, which feature professional drivers and are considered absolute best-case scenarios. Rather they are the times Horst von Saurma has posted independently. They are slower, but it some ways a more accurate comparison for a 'civilian' driver.

  • What a car!

  • ACR spanks this heap of crap

  • Viper ACR still wins LOL

  • belta

  • Sport Auto tests are INDEPENDANT. So they are better comparisons than any a manufacturer wil provide after days/weeks of testing and setup chasing being the #1

  • 7:28 LOL?

This shows that Sport Auto's tests are total crap. Nissan offically tested their 2009 GT-R and got a time of 7:26 and they could only manage 7:38.

    This is useless.

  • @rforracing YOU ARE USELESS

  • @rforracing It beat the GTR. What are you talking about?

  • @banddude121 Nissan got a time of 7:26.7 in the 2009 GT-R (stock tires) video confirmed. When the fuck did Mclaren beat it? You dont seem to know what you're talking about.

  • @rforracing Its at 2:56

  • @rforracing Or maybe nissan are not running with completely stock cars. It's not just sport auto, nobody has been able to match nissans times.

  • @aieljose Nissan ran the GT-R on STOCK tires. At the end of the video you can see Sport Auto using semi slicks on the GT-R and still getting 7:38. Its obvious that Sport Auto has a bad driver.

  • @rforracing: Really, were you there to verify the GTR running on stock tires? All those laps in the low 7's are BS... the LFA the GT2, the GTR. No one else has ever gotten close to them

  • @arena2101 If you do your research and see the 2012 GT-R documentary "A promise fulfilled" you can see all the behind the scenes of the preparation they did for the lap, the driver and the engineer who developed the car.

No one else has ever gotten close to 7:24? Maybe because no one can drive the GT-R as good as Toshio Suzuki you dumbass.

  • @rforracing GT-R was driven on semi-slick tires. End of story. A car that weighs close to 2 tons, has less than 600 HP can't go around Nurburgring in 7:24 on road tires. Neither can it pull over 2G lateral force in corners. Its just something that is physically impossible for the tires to do. No doubt that Suzuki can drive the GT-R better than some car journalist, but 7:24 is not possible on stock tires. Pretty much all cars on nurburgring lap time list under 7:35 used track tires.

  • Comment removed

  • @rforracing First of all ZR1 comes stock with those GY Supercar tires, but it did the lap time on Michelin Pilot Sport Cup Zero Pressure tires (which you can get as an option when you buy the car), and those are semi-slick tires, google to see how they look like..they almost completely slick. Secondly, ZR1 has 650 HP, weighs almost 300 kg's less than GT-R, is more aerodynamic, has lower center of gravity...it's suppose to be faster than GT-R. The only advantage GT-R has in theory is AWD.

  • Comment removed

  • @rforracing Maybe to you but all we have is nissans word that the car was stock and that counts for very little in my book when nobody can come close to matching those times and it's not just sportauto.

  • @aieljose Nissan confirmed it through the video and statement. In fact, the 2012 GT-R was filmed right before its run was about to start. Bone stock everything. Not even a roll cage.

  • @rforracing Again until someone other than nissan comes close to matching it i will continue to have my doubts.

  • @aieljose You'll keep having doubts because no one will ever drive a Corvette ZR1 as fast as Jim Mero or Toshio Suzuki driving the GT-R.

Maybe some really good F1 drivers can, but they will need a lot of practice around the ring and getting used to the car.

  • @rforracing So basically you are saying the GTR and ZR1 are only capable of their times in the hands of a ring expert. That doesn't say much for both those cars when you consider alot of other cars were lapped by much less experienced drivers like Horst von saurma for example. If you look at it that way then these tests are a lot more usefull and a better indication of performance because it better represents what is possible for the average GTR or ZR1 owner.

  • Standard road tyres too, none of these semi-slicks like the rest of the field ;)

  • Just something about this car

Ill have the 458 any day

  • where did they time it from? i dont think 2:46 is the right place to time

  • @kind18cch ooh my good...when someone dies in a movie he dies in real life do you know..!!!!

  • Zonda R 6:47 Nurburgring

  • pretty much fed up with all the "claimed" lap times.

  • @hajimekishi It's an independent assessor. What would you prefer?

  • i thought the vette and gtr were faster than 7:30 ?

  • @DAthirdgenKID no and no...this is independent times, not bullshit companies claims. This is the 3º fastest time ever in sportauto. GT-R was slower as 458 italia..etc.

  • they could of at least made it look better

  • Sorry, the LFA Nurburgring edition's time 7.19.

  • Why didn't they stick some semi slick tyres on? That's at least another 5-10 seconds in the bag! The next video has to be an attempt with ss tyres, think the LFA's time will be smashed!

  • @icycoldfrost you are so off the point here.

  • yes,but will it be able to handle CANADA in the WINTER

  • Love the McLaren but have to stick with the winningest manufacture in motorsports... Ferrari. If I had the cash... 458 hand down. Forza Ferrari!

  • @Airforcefd Winningest? PORSCHE.

  • @Coderoid Porsche? OK... Link? I know Ferrari has the most wins in F1 and the oldest in Grand Prix racing.

  • Beat the 458 by 10 seconds!!!

  • no full onboard footage? :(

  • james may is going to have a go old rant at this :D

  • @matty0l214 BOMB IT!!

  • @matty0l214 they developed the car at TG test track but just wanted to know how fast it went around the ring, so its no harm...

  • I'm sure That the Mclaren can better it next time, That is just from one lap!!, Ferrari 458 (7:38s) WTF!! Very well done Mclaren:)))))))

  • of course..using semi slicks like the McRubish

  • @mxaxh1 Ferrari 458 didn't have track semi-slick tires, so take about 15 seconds away from that 7:38 if you want to compare it to Mclaren.

  • @mxaxh1 7:28 was done with the 458, with Scuderia Autoropa. just saying

  • sweet!
