I'm watching this film right now, it is excellent. I still remember seeing the assassination scene in a TV documentary when I was a kid. I also remember a sensational scene of a plane crashing in water, with POV inside the plane - is that "Secret Agent"? I think I'll go find out, after this ... :)

CORRECTION I just finished watching, the plane crash is this - one of the most harrowing sequences from this period I've ever seen.

Hitchcock pushed the envelope of soundstage-based technique in his early films, then used the same techniques to create a sort of dream-like artificiality in his masterpieces like "Vertigo", "The Birds", and "Marnie".
