@coltpython6 I think they only reason why they say it's better is for hardcore difficulty because of the fact that they get that extra checkpoint by switching disks at the end of the school.
Use the Force guns secondary fire for those lurker things with the 3 tentacles. works really good. I got the marshal law add on and it was totally worth it.
Also to add to this tip: If you're low on health, and you find one of those things charging at you, stasis it and run towards the Yellow Arch, they'll run back to their original spot and cancel their charge if they were charging you. Fall back to the store from earlier in the video if you need to buy health, use the detonator glitch to farm enough credits for health packs. If you don't know what the "Detonator Glitch" is, look it up on google, I think there's also some vids of it up here on YT.
When you go up against the Stalkers (AKA the "Guys that charge at you" as you say in the video) at about 9:30. They'll only trigger once you go towards the center of the room, when you do that, IMMEDIATELY fall back to the spot JUST in front of that yellow archway, otherwise they'll just keep hiding from you. You gotta be just past the yellow arch in order for their charge animation to trigger. Otherwise you'll be paranoid for hours like I was.
I don't have the force gun either. My alternative is the Contact Beam. Its ALT Fire blows things away if you get surrounded. And stasis necros if you have it upgraded.
I have seen people complain about not having a force gun for 7 videos now. Please, make your own walkthrough without a force gun rather than complain about him using one.
The walkthrough is really well done with nice production quality.
However, how the fuck could you consider using pre-order bonuses when not only barely anyone of us has that and also that's kind of cheating already.

As someone else said, the room at 3:30 is incredible hard. I died there the first 2!!! hardcore walkthroughs I attempted. Especially the leapers are just insanely annoying there.
@SwiftDeaths theres also DLC if you are willing to shell out a few bucks... if you dont like this search dead space 2 very hardcore walkthrough. he uses no DLC/bonuses, no upgrades, only the first suit, and does it in 2 in half hours

the name of the fast things are stalkers. also javilin gun works GREAT for stalkers easy 1 hit kill with the electricity to damage ones around the guy you just killed.
I am soooo glad I saved right before that swarm in ch 6, I thought I was screwing myself over by saving before ch 8 but as soon as I thought that I died. I was thinking about saving before the area but i thought i could make it through by just running through and picking em off from the door area. But a spewer came through the vent and got me then two stalkers came around a corner, i stasis'd them and shot their legs off but another came around, one came from the vent, the stasis on the ground stalkers ran off and i got butchered. Ill try again. But not for a few days. :(
for ppl who want an early force gun just buy the martial law pack when the psn store is backup it has +10 dam and +5 rel and also comes with a bloody vintage suit with i think 10% or 5% increase damage for the force gun(really helpful dlc out of all 3)
Also, just realized after posting: is the force gun even a preorder bonus? I thought it was special edition content. I only said it was preorder because that's what Spiderbite said in an earlier video. Either way, my point still stands - most people have the regular edition.
I like jow much he KEEPS saying "force gun" but the majority of people who bought the game or are watching this review did NOT preorder this game. I hope NextGenTactics will PLEASE take this into account when making new videos: DON'T RELY ON PREORDER CONTENT FOR A WALKTHROUGH.

an easy way to deal with Stalkers is to find a place where there are 1 or 2 places for the stalkers to charge at you. aim at the closest place for the stalkers to charge at you and wait. the stalker will poke his head out at the other charging place, the enemy will go back into cover and then charge. youll know when hes charging when you hear the scream. stasis him and kill him. not sure if this made sense though
When you get to the area with the Stalkers, run back to the gate at the bottom of the stairs (That you entered from). If you are behind the gate, they won't chase you, and if they're chasing you, they'll run away. This makes the fight a breeze. If you get overwhelmed, just run back behind the gate.

It amazes me that you get paid to do this. You can't be bothered to learn the correct names of necromorphs, weapons, or even where items are. Then you use the DLC items and talk about using the force gun when you can't even access it at this point in the game normally.
Also, for those that don't know. In the area at ~3:30 with the pregnants and leapers, you can also just skip the entire thing by killing the first pregnant and then going through the door.
Im watching this vid to see how hard ... well... hard core mode is ( beaten on zealot) but if a new player sees this, it ruins the scare factor durr. Good vid tho. Cheers.
Hardcore mode isn't that hard the only thing u need to buy at the store is med packs and ammo(mostly med packs) be careful with ur money and nodes and you'll be fine
i think the best tactic at 1:43 is to go where the first pregnant showed 1:44 and then go Right and stay beside the store and just sit and wait for them to come (Thumbs Up so people see this)
for the situation like the last room... those fast guys, my favourite solution is to shoot a mine from a line gun when they are hiding...that'll settle them all

necromorphs never follow you directly through doors in dead space 1 or 2 so they try to find a way around (the vents)
but here the stalkers couldn't find any vents that lead to that segment of the room so they only moved around when he moved back in the same room as they were in

@ 1:45 is better to lure the fat man in, use stasis, cut his legs, go to the room he comes from, meaning across the room to the store, buy anything, now from that corridor u have more space and leverage to take out the fast than from the other end.
btw i guess stalkers never attack you when you cross the "door" to that hangar, you see them go back rapidly when you do, so it's like a safe zone for sniping

sure, but who do you think is stupid enough to play Hard Core, probably after playing on Normal or Zealot, with the Javelin gun and Seeker rifle? no one's that stupid, and everyone playing hard core knows the Plasma Cutter-Force gun combination is the best way to go.
personally, i think the 3:30 room is one of the hardest on hard core, but i survived with only Plasma Cutter (didn't have scematic for force gun at the time)... all you really need is ammo and 2 or 3 stasis packs...
@ManikMiner This walkthrough has helped me out a ton and I don't have the force gun. You should be able to figure out what gun is best for your secondary by yourself anyway.
@heats1 On hardcore, UNLESS you have the DLC or the Zealot Force Gun (which the guy is using in this video) from the Collectors edition, you have to go through the game from scratch. You can't have the Force Gun at this stage of the game. The schematic for it is in Chapter 7, so it's pointless recommending it 'AS THE WEAPON TO USE' in Chapter 6. The Ripper/Line Gun or possibly the Pulse Rifle is most likely what you'll be using for the 3:30 onslaught. The player is a bit Force Gun obsessive IMO

@heats1 Let me explain it differently then. On Hardcore you start with nothing (your weapons and suits do not carry over like with a New Game + playthrough) The earliest opportunity on Hardcore that you can get the Force gun is in Chapter 7. NOTE: ONLY If you have the DLC addons (Martial Law Pack, Supernova Pack, Occupational Hazard Pack or the gun from the collectors edtion etc.) are you able to use those from Chapter 1 shop onwards. I hope that makes sense now.
@heats1 wtf?...when you go in hardcore mode, everything you had last game is gone, its like playing a new game, but...everything is MUCH MUCH harder and more brutal on your ammo and spending...trust me, I've played it and beaten it, without this guys DLC crap..best combo choices for weapons is: Plasma cutter, javelin gun, Force Gun, and Contact Beam, trust me, the Line gun officially sucks and in Hardcore mode, your pretty much forced into getting the Javelin Gun.

before u fight the stalker things u shood get the line gun cuz u can take out their legs with 1 shot and that will really save u. unless, of course, u have the zealot force gun
Spider you missed a power node! After you first enter the room with the fire, take off , gain some altitute , and then turn around. You'll notice a second floor above the one you entered through. Fly there and take the node & some loot.Thumbs up so people know about it!
If you didn't preorder and get the Zealot Force Gun, you won't have the regular Force Gun at this point, making all those strategies moot. Spiderbite mentioned this, but then he said, "Just buy the regular Force Gun." You can't . You haven't found the schematic for it yet.
They can be helpful. Though, just tossing shit at them is fine.
9:50 AI boundary abuse is wise. Though if you cross beyond their territory, stasis and attacks on them won't work. They certainly won't attack. Much more application of TK impale is advised.
definitely agree that the force gun was my favorite during my run through. that thing just pushes everything back to it's place n sometimes get one hit kills if they are close enough. it just sucks on the spitter necromorph. takes about 3 hits to take that guy down, thus why you catch it's spit and throw back at it for a one hit kill. :)

I've actually grown to appreciate the Ripper in DS2. It's really effective, especially when fully upgraded. It's become my Go To weapon for anything close quarters and especially when dealing with multiple enemies.
10:34 When you've triggered the Stalkers to attack, they all hide the moment you go back into the stairway area. Most Stalkers throughout the game are limited to the areas they appear in. Something to keep in mind when you're not good at dealing with them.

an easy way to deal with Stalkers is to find a place where there are 1 or 2 places for the stalkers to charge at you. aim at the closest place for the stalkers to charge at you and wait. the stalker will poke his head out at the other charging place, the enemy will go back into cover and then charge. youll know when hes charging when you hear the scream. stasis him and kill him. not sure if this made sense though

When you get to the area with the Stalkers, run back to the gate at the bottom of the stairs (That you entered from). If you are behind the gate, they won't chase you, and if they're chasing you, they'll run away. This makes the fight a breeze. If you get overwhelmed, just run back behind the gate.

It amazes me that you get paid to do this. You can't be bothered to learn the correct names of necromorphs, weapons, or even where items are. Then you use the DLC items and talk about using the force gun when you can't even access it at this point in the game normally.
Also, for those that don't know. In the area at ~3:30 with the pregnants and leapers, you can also just skip the entire thing by killing the first pregnant and then going through the door.

Hardcore mode isn't that hard the only thing u need to buy at the store is med packs and ammo(mostly med packs) be careful with ur money and nodes and you'll be fine

Listen up, the best force gun alternative is the LINE GUN.
It has a wide range, a lot of damage, and levels down groups easily.
It isn't as great as the force gun, but since you can't get the force gun until later in the game, it is the best gun you can have.

also a quick tip, after u take out the fire, u can put a battery back in to restore oxygen and the fire wont be there, i think its a glitch

the stalkers wouldn't charge because he was constantly moving in and out of that door / portal thingy
necromorphs never follow you directly through doors in dead space 1 or 2 so they try to find a way around (the vents)
but here the stalkers couldn't find any vents that lead to that segment of the room so they only moved around when he moved back in the same room as they were in

dude,alternate between primary and Alt fire with the force gun on those leapers.its a waste to actually keep using force primary fire.the real power with force gun is its close range Alt fire.push them with primary and finish them with secondary while in range.

Do u not realise what a HUGE advantage it is for u having the force gun? Ur walkthrough is useless to people who dont have it. you should have at VERY least suggested an alternative to the FG. Doing the room at 3:30mins is fucking hard with just the default gun.

sure, but who do you think is stupid enough to play Hard Core, probably after playing on Normal or Zealot, with the Javelin gun and Seeker rifle? no one's that stupid, and everyone playing hard core knows the Plasma Cutter-Force gun combination is the best way to go.
personally, i think the 3:30 room is one of the hardest on hard core, but i survived with only Plasma Cutter (didn't have scematic for force gun at the time)... all you really need is ammo and 2 or 3 stasis packs...

@heats1 On hardcore, UNLESS you have the DLC or the Zealot Force Gun (which the guy is using in this video) from the Collectors edition, you have to go through the game from scratch. You can't have the Force Gun at this stage of the game. The schematic for it is in Chapter 7, so it's pointless recommending it 'AS THE WEAPON TO USE' in Chapter 6. The Ripper/Line Gun or possibly the Pulse Rifle is most likely what you'll be using for the 3:30 onslaught. The player is a bit Force Gun obsessive IMO

@heats1 Let me explain it differently then. On Hardcore you start with nothing (your weapons and suits do not carry over like with a New Game + playthrough) The earliest opportunity on Hardcore that you can get the Force gun is in Chapter 7. NOTE: ONLY If you have the DLC addons (Martial Law Pack, Supernova Pack, Occupational Hazard Pack or the gun from the collectors edtion etc.) are you able to use those from Chapter 1 shop onwards. I hope that makes sense now.

@heats1 wtf?...when you go in hardcore mode, everything you had last game is gone, its like playing a new game, but...everything is MUCH MUCH harder and more brutal on your ammo and spending...trust me, I've played it and beaten it, without this guys DLC crap..best combo choices for weapons is: Plasma cutter, javelin gun, Force Gun, and Contact Beam, trust me, the Line gun officially sucks and in Hardcore mode, your pretty much forced into getting the Javelin Gun.

Spider you missed a power node! After you first enter the room with the fire, take off , gain some altitute , and then turn around. You'll notice a second floor above the one you entered through. Fly there and take the node & some loot.Thumbs up so people know about it!

If you didn't preorder and get the Zealot Force Gun, you won't have the regular Force Gun at this point, making all those strategies moot. Spiderbite mentioned this, but then he said, "Just buy the regular Force Gun." You can't . You haven't found the schematic for it yet.

definitely agree that the force gun was my favorite during my run through. that thing just pushes everything back to it's place n sometimes get one hit kills if they are close enough. it just sucks on the spitter necromorph. takes about 3 hits to take that guy down, thus why you catch it's spit and throw back at it for a one hit kill. :)

I've actually grown to appreciate the Ripper in DS2. It's really effective, especially when fully upgraded. It's become my Go To weapon for anything close quarters and especially when dealing with multiple enemies.
