How do I transition from x4 to x5?...meaning I've upgraded to x5, and when I open a website with x5 that was created in x4 my color scheme has changed and it looks like some of the site property settings changed as well. Can you shed some light on this issue? Can't find anyone else having this problem!

Having suffered in the past trying to create one, I bumped into Serif, downloaded their Starter software and really liked it. With Wix being a flash based site, you can have any font you want and it all scales without distorting the text. I found a procedure on the Serif forum that someone posted using FontSquirrel and then attaching the HTML in WebPlus (can't do this in Starter). What's your view on this? Thanks.

I noticed yesterday that X4 has several different colours under User Interface in Options - the pale blue is just the default. If you select "Classic" (or "Silver") you get the non-toy looking desktop!
This is very helpful and is encouraging me to upgrade from X4 to X5 if only for what appears to be much-improved navigation bar creation. One question though - does X5 still only have Serif's proprietary chat box or whatever it is rather than a proper, fully integrated guestbook? That put me off using X4 more for my particular project previously - thanks for the posting.

The only app within the Serif/Adobe range that are quite different is WebPlus v Dreamweaver, both highly capable but work completely different. With the rest you get quick fantastic cost effective results from Serif and more power than you can shake a stick at with Adobe.
The button you made for the "Contact" via Panel button editor wouldn't let you make vertical buttons so this example was very misleading, may be should of highlighted this at time of video many as i spent hours trying to make vertical button in X5 editor
@EstimatorSurveyor The Contact link within the panel wasn't created as a button, it's simply a creative text frame on a blue quickshape grouped then rotated with a hyperlink attached. You could use the button studio but you would have to add the vertical text as an image.
@TheAjulla Hi, WebPlus is web site design, PhotoPlus is image/picture editing, drawplus is vector graphics, and pageplus is desktop publishing (booklets, newsletters). these best way to learn more is to download the free versions from serif.com
@LukeThorntonFitness It doesn;t but there are many scripts out there that will do that and you can add them via the HTML frag tool. Thou you wil lhave ot mainually maintain it, as it won;t automatically update as you add pages etc.

@xzibitcool You have to right-click each image, then image export, then change it from there. You can't remove the meta generator from within webplus. You have to publish to disk, open each HTML page and change it. But you have to do this everytime, as the changes are not reflected in the WPP file, so it's not advisable.
@xzibitcool Hi it depends where you are, it's just turned 16th (midnight) here in the UK where Serif is based, so I guess you'll probably see it in another 10 hours when they open.
@politirel If you bought it from Serif you can always return it under the 30 day guarantee or ring them up and see how they can help. If you bought it from elsewhere check their returns policy. But if you can't return it, register your copy and you will be eligible for the upgrade price.
@LivingWandsworth Thanks for that, I didn't buy it from Serif (too expensive) I only got it on the 14th, I'll just work with the X4 as it is, I've had a look at some of your videos so most things seem to look the same, I might buy the X5 in 6 months or so when the price drops.
Very good video. One of the main issues I have with X4 is eCommerce stock control. Is there any way to control stock in X5, or do you have to add the buttons in PayPal (or something like that, I don't really know how to do it).
I don't quite understood how the full screen page stretching works. Can u make a tutorial on how to a adjust the page width to that of the monitor. I a unable to make a website in Web Plus. Or do i need to use the fluid technology?
@BurnFireINC To get a website page to resize the page to the screen you need a fluid page layout which WP doesn't do, and I don't recomment, most major companies use absolute positioning liek WP. But see my backgrounds video to create a background that streches the whole page
