First saw and heard this video one night a few years back at a hotel while on a biz trip. It struck all the right chords as I was chan surfing while thinking out some heart stuff. I thought I heard Curtis Mayfield but I saw Clapton. That the video was so well connected to the song only enhanced it. This my friends is RnB or Soul at it's best. It's Clapton talking his heart 60s-70s style. It's straight plaintiff coppin a plea for some loved one to understand his journey.
@BrandonW122 ~ Man, let me tell ya. When this played in LW 4, I was absolutely mesmerized by the sound and his style of singing. His voice mimicked the late great Curtis Mayfield. In case some people jump out a window over this statement, please youtube Mr Mayfield and you'll see what I'm talking about. This was not Clapton's normal vocal style but it was effective on this record.
@Baltimorehop My kindred I wrote the above without seeing what you wrote. I had come here before your entry and wanted to mention the heavy Curtis Mayfield overtones. But I really get it. This could have been on the SuperFly soundtrack!
Could you fuck up the sound any more?
