@SuperUniverse555, there are several ways to do this. Just press -Left- Control Key once, when orbiting a star or planet, or keep pressing it until you get there.
This should take the camera to Sagittarius A*, the black hole at the center of our galaxy. Currently this is the only black hole represented.
there's a real future for these simulators. Think of stellar evolution, expanding nebulas and colliding galaxies being accurately depicted with modern technology and computing power; besides being educational, it would offer a very cool show
@lzoli18B, yes that is a good idea. We have pondered that line of development, and it is not discarded. It is just in a long list of possible improvements.
Right now v1.3 will focus in an user customizable spaceship mode, along with improved graphics and other enhancements.
@SuperUniverse555, that star is named Enif. A pulsating star in Pegasus, 216 times the Sun. Here viewed in accelerated time. You can use the 'Star Selector' to find it by name. A very interesting case indeed.
@mpl3d What is that kind of binary star at 5:01?

what's the date/time when the star is sucked in yo the black hole(full cycle)
titanicice19 1 year ago
@titanicice19, the star swallowed by the black hole is a fictitious one, so there is no particular time or date.
Inside the simulation program, just wait a moment near the black hole until a fictitious star appears. Remember that you can speed up the time clock.
It is fictitious because such event has an average of 10,000 years to happen.

Is stellar evolution simulated in mpl3d
i.e. can the sun becume a red giant if you speed time up enough?
trans4mers8454 2 years ago
That is not represented, at this moment it only simulates +/- 10,000 years from now.

At 0:44 there is the rings around the planets showing their orbit, how do you turn that on and off?
goodatlinerider 2 years ago
Orbit plot can be turned On/Off with the 'O' key. Also from the top menu->Data->Orbits.
Also, at that point of the video, reduced orbits are set. Press 'S' or top menu->Special->Orbit size, to cycle between available orbits size.
