I totally agree, but at the same time you have to look at the differences. Playing high school football was about 5 months, max, of being in pads going full contact. In the NFL, while they are definitely in better football shape, they also hit harder and are in pads for 8 or 9 months of the year.

They're even required to spend 3 years in college, which means they're not rushing into it straight out of high school.
