me again sorry 96 world champ long time ago I remember dj Atrack won 97 he was only 15 but the best for me is DJ NOISE 96 dmc you must check it out its out of sight
@matthew0502 listen..... the dude dont do weddings... he aint some nickel and dime ass homie...... u couldnt afford his services...... try the yellow pages.... ya heard.......
This is a video that any aspiring tablist must watch again and again: Scratching that's actually musical, precise beat juggling that sounds as good as it looks, and the Cash Money tribute from someone who's otherwise synonymous for artfully trashtalking the competition using craftily timed juggling back and forth between song lyrics. And to top it of, the guy pulls it all off without the need for headphones or in-ear monitors - just carefully marked records and a well-planned, perfect routine.
@slimshadyberryhill That would be "Move The Crowd" by Eric B and Rakim. If their first two albums aren't in your collection, you're blowing it. Get 'em!
Read an interview with Noize many mad years ago which attributed his dope wordplay skills to listening to mad hours of hip hop on regular train journeys he had to make. One of my DMC all time favourites for sure - back when DMC was dope, not today full of rubbish like C2C - no flava.
When DJ Noise starts scratching on the Doug E Fresh Track, it is actually a tribute to DJ Cash Money(who is right behind him), who won the 1988 DMC Championship with the same routine.
Knowing that gives that part of the routine an extra special taste.
DJ Noise has skills and his routines are really smooth, even non djs can appreciate what he does.
@djxd74 It really fits very well with the whole routine as it's not a competition which he "says" with records in the beginning. So he can just do a copy of a classic routine. And havin the master himself in the background is just fuckin awesome. Noise is one of the few who can come up with these ideas and execute them to the highest level.
When DJ Noise starts scratching on the Doug E Fresh Track, it is actually a tribute to DJ Cash Money(who is right behind him), who won the 1988 DMC Championship with the same routine.

@mchalo188 thanks for the input but no its similar but its not mobb, its definatly a remix of doug e fresh play only at night...... how annoyin need to ask noize himself
does anyone know definatly which version of only play at night that he's kuts over is???? its dope as fuk i need it, please someone help. is it hamster breaks vol 1
Noize is the ultimate DJ, Q-Bert has the best scratches, most surgicaly executed, kid koala has the sickest melodies sure but Noize is the ultimate jack of all trade of DJ ing, everything from the track he choose to the way he flips them is phenomenal, he will make you move your butt, not just impress you with mad skillz .
This very session, when I saw it on tape back in the days, is what made me wanna start scratching. So happy to be able to watch it again.
DJ Noize @ The Summit = The Summit for the DMC event IMHO.
Attending DMC's from around 88 - 98 was my religion then around 2000 just got too messy sounding with noise for the sake of noise - no clever hooks to entice and show-off the skills plus too many 'battle-weapon' records which in some cases was cheating.
So much stronger and more diverse than anyone else who stepped up @ the summit(yes I did see the Q-Bert session and it was average by his standards so Yes Noize Destroys)
I love how Noize throws beats in with the snare before the 1 count....Very simplistic, but sounds so dope.....I think its pretty funny how much Qbert was feeling this to in the background....And when he dropped the Badboy remix you could tell that made A-trak be like damn.....
This is one of my favourite sets of all time, first time I saw 2 click flares using the upfaders. I agree a great video to show people just starting out.
The great thing about this video, is that Q, Raida and Noize are all on it, and they all have completely different styles, i.e. Scratching, Beat-Juggling and Phrase-Cutting. It's the perfect video to show a DJ who is just starting out.
erm if you're talking about 'Play This Only At Night' then the first half of the records instrumental anyway which is what he uses if you want it as a looper then you could just loop it yourself with a sampler, serato or anything else if not go old school and tape the record up.
One thing's for sure - A-Trak was fucking lucky this guy didn't defend his title in '97!! Also, while I'm on the subject, I thought Total Eclipse should've represented the U.S., at the World Final, instead of Slyce.
Eclipse was nice in 97, Bug but if Craze hadnt had that prob with the turntable hed have taken it....even with the skipping he still killed it! But Eclipse was nice though!
That's a ridiculous statement. Craze wouldn't have won regardless that year. Slyce blew ecveryone away and Total E would've still come 2nd. The skip did not take anything away from Craze's routine and probably wouldn't have motivated him to do that kick ass routine in 1998
In their own right though, it's about the fact that they appreciated it. "SIKKKKK" may just have been a person's way of saying they liked it. Who cares if they know hip hop from a hole in the ground, they still dug it.
thats not dougie fresh thats mobb deep GOD remix...cashmoney used dougie fresh in his old routine...thats why he turned around to him before he threw the beat on
Noize is the best at what he does because he basicaly made up this whole style. instead of tryin to be Roc Raida or craze who can take out anyone with there tricks, he uses his brain to piece together breaks and beats to dis his opponets. the term would be "hes smooth". No one else out can really touch him on that level. Ive got alot of his routines and each of them are badass in there own right!
hes is damn creative, with the tribue to cash money :P(the scratch) and so many other things, the qbert only scratch, i think its boring, but its that what people (who are not dj's) want; "hey man, can you d some scratch !!" -.-
you gotta be kidding me!! Q boring?? Q-bert just stole the show only with scratching! I love Noize's style and originality, but there's no one who can make scratching so enjoyable like Q-Bert. He's in a league of his own. The super dopest scratcher that's out there for years and years.. and years to come... Peace to all the real dj's, juggling, mixing or scratching! ps: I think RocRaida(and he's really good, I have to say) stole his style from Cash Money (the routine he won his dmc edition with)
This has got to be one of my favourite sets of all time. Sure other DJs can do more technically difficult routines but no one can touch Noize musically.
