People are under the impression that it is easier to pass at York but it is so not true it depends on you. U of T is downtown so that's a plus while York is in North York and it is dead. I dont think they prefer students from u of t over york as the med school is practically an entirely separate school and they would otherwise specify that they do not accept students from york. Another thing is that I have heard many people say how a 60 from u of t is like a 90 at york...no, it's not...as you cannot be accepted into grad school with a 60....

I got accepted to York,Uoft & Rye, i go to Rye because it has the best and the most competitive program for fashion Canada has to offer. Besides, a lot of my profs have taught at uoft but all of them complain about the same thing. A lecture in uoft has 500 kids who never get to talk to their profs, we have personal interaction with ours, they know our names, they are willing to extend office hours and reply back to emails right away. Its about education not the brand nor the prestige of a Uni

I struggled hard for jobs for CS even after I got a degree that major in security. Just settled down 1 and half year in sec expert for Sun Micro, thanked to the help of Waterloo partnership. Not UofT.

The point here is Waterloo is willing to help students be successful. Not dump you after graduation.

My friends from York who studied math, economics, and finance have amazing jobs while most of my friends who went to UofT and studied social sciences and humanities now wait tables. It doesn't matter where you went, with so many ppl in university there are not enough jobs for everyone when you leave.
