I don't know what is. So who has no empathy now? Because saying you want to drive off a bridge with your child with your child in the same room without thinking it might hurt their child's feelings doesn't sound like empathy to me.

The taunts they give back to the protestors disgust me.

"Are you really that stupid?"

"How do you sleep at night?"

I've heard they threw stones at the protestors and one of the walkers scared one of the protestors by pretending to run her over with a car. Yet they have the AUDACITY to say we lack empathy. Calling us "diseased", falsely claim we ruin marriages, and give our parents embarassment is not a sign of empathy. It's a sign of hatred. If that's not lack of empathy, cont.

@paulwady: Funny, how you talk about what is 'natural'! With that kind of thinking, would you not want the 'horror' of a feeding tube for a person who could not 'naturally' swallow? would you rather that person starve to death, for fear of allowing them to be 'normal' ? your logic does not make any sense. And, btw, I will do everything I can to help my child succeed in this world. If that's ruthless, then I guess I am a ruthless b****.

I entirely agree with the point you are making above. Indeed, with the lack of funding in the UK & apparently the USA, you have to be ruthless!

We do not want a cure for people who have Autism...! We only want a cure to make sure that children do not have to be born and grow up with Autism!!!! We want to educate the Gov. and the Public about Autism! But, you are confusing the public and Gov. ! You are Anti-Autism Education!

The confusion is that we autistics believe that curing is changing a humans brain into something that is not natural for them.

The dysfunctional, tragically introverted nature of many autistic people, means that of course, a cure would be a great thing if it enhanced functionality. Thus enabling the autistic to think, behave and relate as the people protesting on this film do.

See? The more you get 'normal' behaviour, the more you'd leave us alone...

I find this offensive and misdirected. No one I know 'mourns' for their child with autism, we want our children to be successful in whatever makes them happy-the same as any parent wants for any child. Unfortunately, many with autism are not able to communicate in conventional ways-it's not their fault, BUT NEITHER IS IT THE PARENTS'! And to say that looking for a cure is a bad thing is ridiculous; using the same logic, would you tell a person unable to walk to not want to walk? Don't hate on us

@danisul9 When you say cure, what you mean is to make your children like yourself. That is, able to relate and function in a Neurotypical way?

Is this possible? Also, is such behaviour natural to your child? Or will you ruthlessly impose such 'normality' on them, via interventions, cures and treatments.

But primarily, is curing an attempt to change your childs brain? Is that safe? Is that possible.

It is not that Autism is relatively a good thing mind. It is the reality I speak of.

There is no profit in curing autism, cancer, AIDS, heart disease. Your issues are with the monetary system not this organization. Do you honestly believe that a company which makes money as long as autism exists has any intent of helping the cause? You really need to grow up, lose the childish anger, stop with the pointless protesting, and work towards something that is going to make a change. Go check out the Zeitgeist movement or something, stop spewing vitriol toward your fellow man.
