Uploader...You are ABSOLUTELY RIGHT!!! Some Songs are Best as the Vinyl Versions. They are not reproduced correctly. I've tried it with better results, because even with my Originals, in the Studio & Live Performances, I'm a Perfectionist.Getting back to Vinyl, I Honestly believe that it has to do with the Vibration of the Stylus in the Groove that gives an Ambience & Resonance that can't be copied.I read something about it in a Music Mag. @ Recording way after I thought of that. So, we're right
You might be correct about that!! I don't know how the laser turntables sound as they don't have mechanical contact with grooves like a regular stylus, and they are quite costly to invest in for me at the moment!! My cousin feels the same way about cassettes in that the mechanical tape-head contact gives it the sound he likes. I hope they don't kill off all analog formats now that analog TV is gone, they are hinting at eliminating analog AM-FM radio as well...Friends, Lloyd.
I had completely forgotten this tune and the group. Is this where the term "Bubblegum Music" came from? Thanks much for the upload and the memories. Special thanks for keeping the "old" music alive.
You are welcome, and I am not sure if this is the group where that Bubblegum phrase came from, but it was at the time the phrase started...Thank you for checking it out...Friends, Lloyd.
+1 on the digital transfer. It always involves a remix that is 'cleaner and clearer', but seems to lose the character of the old vinyl, not to mention the AM radio vibe that most of us remember these songs by.
I have the album and a working record player they are a little scratchy but all the greatest hits of all the best groups love this music satilite radio keeps me young and in touch with my school days BG
I think the original lp has a much fuller sound than the CD's of these songs that I heard to date at least. Thank you for checking this out...Friends, Lloyd.
Thank you for checking out this original 1968 LP version, and I agree with you in many ways about real music dying!!, there is not to much current music that gets my attention in a good way like it used to!!!...Friends, Lloyd.
Great finding this is still out there. I grew up with this very 45, and wish I could find the opposite side, which was the song Sticky Sticky. Thanks for the memories.
This is such a great record. It made me happy when I heard it as a kid and it still makes me feel good today. I used to play my older sisters 45 records over and over and over. Thanks for posting. Peace.
@lrh1966 Radio hit in the 60's was absolutly the 1910 Fruitgum Company's version. I'm sure The Ohio Express covered it, but it wasn't their radio hit.
for my 9th birthday (September 1968), I got 4 brand-new 45, and they were "Hey Jude" The Beatles; "Bang-Shang-A-Lang" The Archies; "Harper Valley P.T.A. Jeannie C. Riley and "1,2,3 Red Light" 1910 Fruitgum Co. Today I hear one, I also think of the other three. Excellent records; I sure do miss those musical days. . .
Thank you for posting. When I was a kid, we knew that the community pool was open, as this was the first song they played. Great memories. Thanks again.
Back in 1968 I was totally embarrassed to admit that I liked bubblegum music. Not so any more...I'll admit it, this is one of my all-time favorite songs. There. I said it!
My sister used to play this over and over. I remember locking her out of her room by tying a knot in her jump rope and hooking it onto a second door knob. I couldn't take it any more.
I bought this 45 vinyl with my meager allowance when I was 11, about 100 years ago! Man, I'm old!
