i cdnt understand the logic of asaads criticism on syrian regime n opposition fanatics supported by gulf tyrants.as he did in libyan crises,he tried to criticise both in libya, but now he seems to be a vocal person of libyans,is noy this a contradiction in his logic?he is far frm reality n serves the cause of looters.i think he is the man creatinmg confusion.everyone knew that so called arab uprising is perpetuated by zionists to balkanise mideast, but he had supported it.i think he shd look outar
@nerdheadbanger Iran controls Iraq. And more and more of Lebanon. And now it wants to control Syria. But he fears for his life and the life of his family there.
As a non-Arab, Asian American, I have watched the Arab Spring drama both in American media and on al-Jazeera. Thank you Mr. AbuKhalil for telling it like it is as we say in America. You are on target one hundred percent in your analysis. Your credibility increased in my eyes when you critiqued al-Jazeera, which does seem quite ambivalent when it comes to Bahrain, although it has given voice to the voiceless Bahrainies who have paid a price for speaking out on Jazeera.
@massimo38I got what you meant the first time. I'm not here to fight, challenge you or prove you wrong. I'm only presenting to you what I know to be the truth as a Saudi living in the west and has viewed the Arab/Muslim world through different lenses. Its easy to blame the Saudi government or royal family for everything wrong in the Muslim world, its easy to blame the US and Europe too, but we never seem to blame ourselves for our own shortcomings.
@massimo38 I'm a very ordinary Saudi citizen and absolutely not a part of a Saudi lobby (I laughed my head off reading your accusations lol). I invite you to Saudi, I invite you to meet ordinary Saudis to ask them what they think. I'm 100% sure most will agree with me. Thanks Massimo for an interesting conversation :)
@massimo38Now, let me be clear on something. I'm not proud of many things that the rulers of my country have done, in Saudi or anywhere else. But I 'know' that they've done so much more good for Arabs and Muslims for decades. Most recently, they've 'saved' Bahrain from becoming another Iraq, Lebanon or even another Iran. Every self-respecting Arab, who is knowledgeable of the situation in Bahrain was happy that the coup d'etat failed.
@massimo38I know Bahrain very well, I went to school there and I have many Shiite friends. It has nothing to do with a shia-sunni conflict, its turning a liberal/secular country into a state of the Mehdi. Period. IDK if you've read Turki Al-Faisal op-ed on the NYT.Saudi is pushing for a palestinian state, and is risking its relations with (like it or not) the most powerful country in the world.Saudi was against the war/intervention in Iraq, and has made that clear on several occasions.
@massimo38I know what I'm telling you is against everything you've been ever 'told' or fed. I ask you to have an open mind, and give my people the benefit of the doubt. Saudis aren't fools to be deceived or backward or uneducated. We know whats going on, and we are loyal first and foremost to our country, not to AlSauds. We just see something you don't see. Please never allow yourself to think that you or anyone else would know whats better for us more than we do. Thank you for your time.
this is what we might call marxism leninism in reverse.and it also applies for morocco of course.

Does anyone else think that Dr. AbuKhalil's rant against "the West" is marginally reduced by his decision to wear his Polo badge?

@msabssa Thanks 4 your response but it seems to me you're not ordinary citizen of Saudi Arabia
that I read about before & you might be a member of a Saudi loby to improve & enhance the Royal's
family name but I appreciate your time & efforts & I thank you very much .
