I own one - sure its ok offroad, but nothing vs a Toyota prado in build quality longevity and ability. In fact I hate the thing and want to get rid of it.
I just bought a 2004 Montero LTD here in the states you don't see too many. I bought it cause it looks so sweet. Little did I know it's an off road machine! Can I take it out factory as is?? I have never driven 4X4 and know nothing about differential and all that stuff. I tell you what though.... I love this SUV. Someone told me it was a crossover minivan-suv... I told that fella about Dakar. Then made fun of his Chrysler Pacifica.
Youve made the perfect decision! Im sorry that Mitsubishi hasnt made an impact in the states. But all over the world the Montero has been proven. I guess Yanks just care about their guzzling crossovers while traveling over potholes to get to the next starbucks. Of course, you could take it offroad anywhere without any modifications, the only problem I have is clearance, but all of the SuV's have that problem. Im planning on raising mine & getting bigger tires. Where are u from? Where have u gone
i'll post a video of my challenger going up the usual trail on thursday, should shut these tools up. It's almost vertical, on loose rock, through 3 feet of water, mud, rivers, the car just keeps plodding on! I would LOVE to see a chevy do what my mitsi does, it'd be a right fookin' laugh :o)

The Pajero is not an SUV it is a real 4x4, only the Americans call them SUV's, Then again most people don't know their cars for what they are.

ya i hold the montero way high in my list of good 4x4's its basically up there with the landrovers toyotas and nissan's.
