@MRthatguy50 read the title...."playing". This is not a mud truck and this was what we had available after spending time doing trail runs at 80mph. So gtfo.
@PowerstrokeForever As I've said before, £100 on a camera (Approximately, I don't know, but it cant be less than that) or £100 for petrol? Or towards a bottom end rebuild for the D type replica? I have better things to spend my cash on. I've also never bothered borrowing a camera before, I'd then have to find someone willing to film the landy, and I'd have to find some space on my hard drive and... It's a lot of faffing, I'll get round to it. BTW, 'wasting', not 'waisting'.
@PowerstrokeForever I never once said she was stock. I've said stock ones can do stuff, but never said mine was. She's got straight pipes, figh flow filters, revised ignition timing, plugs and leads, torquey cams, and I've spent hours filing and sanding all the inlet and exhaust ports for maximum airflow. She's always been a bit lifted, the coils see to that the tyres are slightly wider, I cut and widened the original wheels to fit. She also has a full set of lockers.
@PowerstrokeForever Mud is a viscous material, the chassis and body simply plough through it. My Landy has 6" extra clearance from its coils and the snorkel protrudes another 7" higher than the roof. I had not intended to go so deep, for a moment I thought I would have to get out and swim. Once I was out, we measured the hight tide mark at 5' 11" which is near as damnnit, 6'. My Landy also has the 3.5 Rover V8, tuned by myself and good for 250bhp. Do your homework next time.
@PowerstrokeForever Yes, mud up to the door handles. I don't tend to go deeper because thick mud is a pain to get out of the back of the dash (you have to take it wading to wash the crap out) It doesn't bottom out, it has plenty of ground clearence. It doesn't matter if mud has water in it, I take it wading in 6' rivers (carefully of course, I don't want to drown myself!) and the water doesn't get in BECAUSE IT HAS A SNORKEL! (Which is a factory stock part.)
That's just a dirty puddle you 'foon! Hardly challenging, or even real mud! And what on earth was all that squeaking and creaking from the red one at 1:01 ? My 40 year old 1972 Series III Landie doesn't squeak as much as that, and I'm not even gentle with it.
@TheWierdFish and this is when I'm going to refer you to my other comments replying to people like you. Notice "playing" in the title. I didn't say it was challenging this is a prerunner, not a mud truck. He was just messing around. Purpose built mud trucks are a waste of money imo. Squeaking was a plastic panel rubbing against something. He cut it off.
@TXs14 Sounds dodgy to me, lopping bits off. Should have been put together right in the first place. I agree that purpose mud trucks are stupid, they are useless for anything but mudding, and even then, they're no that good. I have a Series III 109" Landrover. It goes through mud up to its door handles, and water up to the top of my head. It goes up boulders and down cliffs. I frequently tour in it and it's never got completely stuck or died so comprehensively that a hammer can't fix it.
@TheWierdFish It was a piece of plastic...nbd. The stuff this truck goes through and you wonder why a plastic under panel is broken. lol. Cool beans, man. You should post up some videos of that.
@TXs14 I dunno, I've never bothered to borrow a camera when I go out, I may have to try next time. Poor thing's more dent than anything else though, I love that lump of steel and defomed aluminium.
@TheWierdFish yo dude you think your a tough ass putting this kid down because hes having fun with his truck? oh and last time i check landrovers are fucking gay and im sure most people here would agree
@boggers44 No, I'm just pointing out that it's not really mud, politely, and that there seems to be an unusual amount of noise coming from the red one, this was an inferred dig at the quality of these vehicles. How can a Landrover be gay? They don't have sexual feelings. Idiot. Landies are absolutely fantastic things, can an F150 be an: Ambulance, police car, fire engine, cherry picker, flatbed, pickup, station wagon, crewcab, canvas back, lwb, swb, go anywhere vehicle? From stock.
@TheWierdFish Actually it wasn't polite at all. But okay. Let me refresh your memory:
"That's just a dirty puddle you 'foon! Hardly challenging, or even real mud! And what on earth was all that squeaking and creaking from the red one at 1:01 ? My 40 year old 1972 Series III Landie doesn't squeak as much as that, and I'm not even gentle with it."
@TXs14 'foon, is hardly insulting. The squeaking question would be rude if I'd added and exclamation mark. As it is, it is an innocent question. When I saw 'playing in the MUD' in the title, I assumed the trucks would be in MUD not DIRTY WATER. I admit I was rude to boggers44, I called him an idiot, but (at the risk of sounding petty and childish) he asked for it with his use of the phrase 'fucking gay'. I'm sorry that you took what was meant as a light hearted comment in the wrong way.
@TXs14 You call it mud, I call it dirty water, same difference. I would call a bash through my local woods playing, challenging play, but playing none the less. It's all a laugh. Again, sorry I was misunderstood. Now, don't go spreading rumors, but I think the Raptor is one of the best American trucks out there. Just not as good, in my experience as a Toyota or a Landy.
why wouldn't it be a legit motorsport people invest thousands of dollars into there trucks to do a "sport" they love lol man not here to argue just some people think different
@marleynick93 compare the amount of associations. leagues, and professions that are in mudding to that of baja and desert racing.... oh wait there hardly are any.
@ralphie2540 They are alright, I would go with a M/T type tire or something along those personally. The Generals' are more of a Baja tire. They are used by many trophy trucks. We also didn't get to test the Generals' limits cause we are not huge mudding fans.
Well if your wealthy with a shit load of money to burn that's fine...or if mom and dad sprung for the 45,000 grand thats another thing too...chances are half your pay check is going to the montly payment..Raptors are "PRE Runners"...AKA..Desert trucks...i have a F-150 an 04' 04x4 heritage...when i want to do shit like this i hop on my 11' KTM 690 Enduro..or just buy an old 4x4 with a high performance crate motor..half these Raptors will be Repo'd by the bank in a year anyway...
@canktm11 lol 1. It wasn't mom and dad's money as people like to say. It was his money. Raptors are basically prerunners from the factory. And we have preran this one before. There is also a difference from a prerunner and desert truck. Prerunners are made to run a baja course before the actual race so the driver and co-driver get a chance to mark turns and hazards and what not. Good for you. This Raptor gets used like we want it to. It's not about showing off, it's about using it.
@TXs14 Set em straight. I bought a new 07 F250 and everybody says you shouldnt do that. Its a Sunday rider. No, it gets used for what I wanna use it for.
@canktm11 No regrets. A scratched up truck means that is has been used for what it was made for. I hate cars and trucks that are just there to look good. Pointless.
@TXs14 you nailed that on the head there, just like how up here in alberta alot of people throw a lift and aggresive ass mud tires on to be "redneck", i cranked my keys and have mud tires so i dont get stuck goin from field to field and i got no troubles. Oh and my truck isnt babied like those ones cause i bought it to work not be a pavement princess. Nice to see someone spending money on a pure offroad truck and using it to its purpose.
@canktm11 if you buy a $45,000 truck because it "looks nice", youre retarded. Like the people who chrome out hummers..... Not a fashion statement, its about performance
@TXs14 Dnt get me wrong i wish i had that orange truck, im sayin that w/ that truck i would be going through the middle of the river not just on the side.
@3yar1983 The tires in this video are 35" General Grabbers but now he has Toyos that are 37". It has the prototype to the ADD prerunner front end. 9500 lb rated Warn winch, 4 tungsten series 6" visionx lights up front, 5 tungsten series 8" visionx lights on top, some sort of bedliner, and Gibson exhaust. It also now has an ADD rear bumper. I need to get more current video up.
yup, raptors arent ment for the mud. they are baja racing trucks. and most mudding trucks i know, get stuck or break. especially the chevy's. but, it is what is. That raptor is nice, but a waste if you ask me. Most ppl wanna take them mudding or street racing because of the SVT....they'll never use it for what its really capable of. Bad ass none the least. Would like to have a 4door one for going offroad, but not thru the mud.
@reznnrubber HA HA HA you're funny. See the Raptor wasn't made for mud nor did I say it was the best. The Raptor is a baja truck (which has capabilities far beyond a mud truck). I'd like to see a big body-lifted mud truck try to prerun... Trucks built just for mud and mudding in my opinion are a waste of time / money and are stupid.
@TXs14 FORDS will always have some kind of problem even after hard off roading ..Not like a TOYOTA you can Drown'em ,Crash'em and they still keep goin ..
@aarondavis2012 thanks for being honest though...because i think that every company has their own point...there are special things that chevy have which ford doesnt and there are special things ford has which chevy doesnt have..for an example...fords technology and brakes etc are better...BUT, chevys engine might be stronger...and fords engine are meant for lasting in any weather...so i think all companies are equally good...it just depends on the owner :)
@mrtibbles96 All the work on this truck were done at Rock and Roll Off Road in DFW area, TX. My suggestion would be to go to an offroad shop and get them to fab you one. The front bumper is the ADD prototype bumper for the Raptor witch is now in production. So you might try ADD also.
that truck with those big overhead lights remind me of the mexican drug dealers in no country for old men lol all you need is a dog in the back preferably an american bull dog or pit lol
@anidin92 yeah, I would prefer a tire gate as well but this is my buddy's and he wanted to keep his back up camera. Instead, his spare is mounted to the floor in his bed.
@fRagRCS Not sure but I think ADD did the front, lights are VisionX Tungsten Halogens (~6" up front and ~8" up top), the top light bar was done by R&R.
@bmcarden87 yeah I hate it when I see Raptors with bigger chrome "cool" rims. It kinda defeats the point of the truck...using the truck how it was made is a lot more rewarding anyways.
Cool deal I might have to hit you up cause my camara chick got more of the sky than the trucks... LoL That truck is way too much fun that it should be illegal...

beaurogelz06 5 months ago
@beaurogelz06 yeah those were actually our buddies and they didn't feel like cleaning all the mud out from underneath their jeeps that day haha
TXs14 4 months ago
@Txs14. Ha. The Raptor could pull your truck trough the mud with your wheels locked up. Jus sayin'
kaloeaa 5 months ago
Pretty weak, go through some real mud pussies.
Stimp69 5 months ago
@Stimp69 this was the mud we had available...and if you think its weak try and take a mud truck prerunning...like these trucks can do. Wont happen.

im a chevy man but this is still bad ass
aarondavis2012 5 months ago
@aarondavis2012 thanks for being honest though...because i think that every company has their own point...there are special things that chevy have which ford doesnt and there are special things ford has which chevy doesnt have..for an example...fords technology and brakes etc are better...BUT, chevys engine might be stronger...and fords engine are meant for lasting in any weather...so i think all companies are equally good...it just depends on the owner :)

One thing to note about this truck, it doesn't look good when clean. Get it filthy and it will be more beautiful than a Ferrari 458 Italia.

i cant find a good overhead light rack anywhere for my 2010 f150 4x4... any suggestions?
mrtibbles96 6 months ago
@mrtibbles96 ruperts racks has them for sale, not sure if they're a USA store or even have a website but I know in Canada you can get them
MrPakiChan 6 months ago
@mrtibbles96 All the work on this truck were done at Rock and Roll Off Road in DFW area, TX. My suggestion would be to go to an offroad shop and get them to fab you one. The front bumper is the ADD prototype bumper for the Raptor witch is now in production. So you might try ADD also.

@mrtibbles96 just make one

if i got one it would look like the orange one except with a tiregate really nice trucks though
anidin92 10 months ago
@anidin92 yeah, I would prefer a tire gate as well but this is my buddy's and he wanted to keep his back up camera. Instead, his spare is mounted to the floor in his bed.

Hey man, I was wondering what kind of headache rack and front bar you're using? Both look awesome! And lights too might I ask!
fRagRCS 11 months ago
@fRagRCS Not sure but I think ADD did the front, lights are VisionX Tungsten Halogens (~6" up front and ~8" up top), the top light bar was done by R&R.

Glad to see some using this truck
bmcarden87 1 year ago
@bmcarden87 yeah I hate it when I see Raptors with bigger chrome "cool" rims. It kinda defeats the point of the truck...using the truck how it was made is a lot more rewarding anyways.
TXs14 1 year ago
Cool deal I might have to hit you up cause my camara chick got more of the sky than the trucks... LoL That truck is way too much fun that it should be illegal...
