does anybody else desire wearing nothing but black and reading strange monotone-like poetry in a small cafe in a dim spotlight while smoking a cigerette youve had in your hand the entire day?
The bass from this song vibrates my whole house. I have to drop my stereo's volume to about half of what I normally have it at whenever I play it, haha.
This is my favorit portishead song, ive listened to them for a while now and they have A LOT of good stuff as you all may know, but this song is just too good. My brain begs more everytime i listen to it!
I listen usually to progressive rock, heavy metal and the likes, and never to any electronic or dance music, yet this band really got me, its more honest than - however it pains me - than 80% of metal bands and it feels so natural, so orchestrated - even if not densely - that grudgingly I became a fanboy to their subtlety and soul.
@eydos Hey im mostly a fan of metal too and most specifcally progressive, folk and death metal. Yet his band has something really special, and like you say subtile, that catches my ear and mind/soul.
If anyone has any song that use a similar saxophone part to this please please give me some names, I love that stuff and would really like to expand my collection of records. Thanks!

Bristol? Everyone's a farmer in Bristol. And Beth Whatshername was a farmer. Is the drummer her brother and is her brother also her lover, as is the tradition in Bristol?
That's so subjective to say, especially since I think that there isn't a single bad Portishead song. Every song is pure gold, but then again, trip hop being one of my absolute favorite genres, I suppose I have a much deeper appreciation for it.

@canf95 Definitions of pedestal on the Web:
base: a support or foundation; "the base of the lamp"
a position of great esteem (and supposed superiority); "they put him on a pedestal"
an architectural support or base (as for a column or statue)
