If Farnsworth house "fitted" into is surroundings would it be any better? No. Contextual reference is not always the basis of good architecture. I doubt if Mies ever had time for on site colour swatches. You have to take what he was trying to achieve into consideration when viewing his work. I believe that the rectilinear structure and construction language actually reflect the calm and natural surroundings through their apparent simplicy.

WHATT?? The transparency of the house is what gives the bulding harmony with the surrounding. You can see-through the building, a concept that revolutionized architecture in the 2oth century.

no theres not, especially with the colours and shape, just doesn't fit. Not everything that is "revolutionized" has to be good
