I've had a video flagged as their content too. I'm going to try and dispute it. I'm not even going to monetise it (primarily because I can't), but the idea of them falsely earning money from royalties on one of my videos is just wrong.
This is such disgusting and unprofessional behaviour so much that I am going to FNN (Fuji News Network) with all of the proof and evidence of this crap. Perhaps bad publicity of their actions Robert and as much public awareness as possible will get them to change their greedy "I WANT" attitude. I have even seen them make a claim on a video of a family outting belonging to a friend that had NO music on it. In fear my friend deleted the video afraid of being banned. GO TO THE MEDIA WITH THIS.
Same thing just happened on one of our videos, using Clenched Teeth. And believe me, we're joining the fight. I don't know how much we can do, but like you said, spreading awareness is the key.
Good luck getting results on this, but I suspect that the best case scenario is to make the videos again (if you can) with different royalty free music, or without music at all. I know I have been more gun shy about using music since your videos on copyright have started.
Typical Google : make the wrong step and ignore hoping it goes away. Sorry. I think we know who has more weight in this matter to the 'powers that be' : the fatass hip-hop ho who doesn't give a shit about anything other than making a load of dosh. That is an indictment on society. On his hoed out shit. On Google for supporting it.
They are supporting it. And that is EVIL. Fucking hell. Poor the guy who actually made the music because Google/YouTube don't give a fuck about his rights. Piss on it
@blackbarnz I'm going to advise nothing of anyone. I don't want to seem like I'm starting something or coercing, lol. But I also can't stay silent about this, because too many YouTubers are getting screwed over this way and they don't know the company is in the wrong, or have an awareness of policy perhaps like I do. I've sent this video to a number of big YouTubers too to raise awareness. I guess this is an awareness campaign.
... They would probably have to try and sue through the UK courts. Via Kevin, if you can prove that the music copyright is his and that he is happy for you to use it, any case should be laughed out of court. If Kevin and you can prove conclusively that the copyright belongs to Kevin and NOT INgrooves or their artist, then INgrooves have no legal case as it will be they who broke the copyright.
The Performing Right Society, PRS, should be able to offer legal advice.
I'd certainly consider contacting the PRS for advice.
If need be, you can always send a letter to INgrooves UK office via special delivery and get proof of signature from the Royal Mail website, if they are not returning your emails or calls.
If Kevin can prove the copyright is his, then INgrooves will not be able to take any action. All that is needed is proof of his copyright. If he can provide you with this, then INgrooves do not have a legal leg to stand on...
Even though the song was released under the creative commons license, Kevin can still call for legal action against I. B. Kredible (or whatever his name is) if he is wrongfully claiming to be the original composer of this piece, and given that YouTube, being owned by Google, will side with whoever pays them more, and you yourself have no claim to the music in question, this is the only method I can think of that even has a chance of getting a response of any kind. Good luck, man.
@markanthonyquested Yeah, I've emailed their USA office twice and no response. I've called the USA branch once and the UK one once too. Got to speak to nobody in all cases. True, I could storm my way up into London...
Kevin has a website with all of the songs on it. As owner I'm sure he has the means to prove it's his. He has also applied to join the ID content programme to try to pro-actively stop this. It depends on whether YT let him.
Sounds incredibly frustrating. Perhaps if you're feeling particularly zealous you could go and visit YouTube or Google UK HQ (if such a thing exists) You might also want to contact the UK intellectual property office (or similar for DRM). However, I'm not sure how easy they are to get hold of. 'tis another lead non the less. Sorry I can't be more help this advice is very much off the top of my head.

INgrooves has been attacking my videos too. I am not making money off of them: they are video game playthroughs to help other gamers.

The INgrooves have a website (just type INgrooves into Google). According to their About Us page on their web site, their UK address is as follows:
UK Office
67 – 70 Charlotte Road
London EC2A 3PE
Tel: +44 (0) 20 3487 0504

A few questions...
The person or company who is claiming copyright, in what country are they based?
In what country does Kevin McCloud live?
Can Kevin McCloud prove the original copyright is his?
PRS (Performing Right Society) may be able to offer copyright and legal advice. Just type in PRS into Google.

@markanthonyquested Ingrooves are based in USA.
Kevin is from USA as well.

PRS, hmm ok.

YouTube is useless in this matter. Kevin is your only hope in getting this revolved.

It seams that there's little hope left in youtube.
