For all the noobs, a scale is basically all the notes that are in a chord. So if you are playing in the A minor pentatonic scale, you will be playing the notes that are in an A chord. It helps when writing solos. If the rhythm chord is an A or G, ect, you want to start the solo in that scale.

hey marty or anyone who can help! ive got a random, off topic question. my friend recently gave me his old Epiphone Les Paul Standard cause he got a new fender and never used the LP. but the intonation is WAAAAY off. the high E string's 12th fret was an entire half step flat, and ive brought the as far up as possible with absolutely no effect. what do i do??? its a great, sexy, awesome guitar that isnt playable and i dont have the money to bring it in right now. please help me anyone!

@MetalliMan0521 had a similar problem with my used strat i just got. I tried like u did to do it myself but couldnt get it close enough. took mine to a guitar shop. Had the truss rod adjusted in the neck and a basic setup including intonation for thirty bucks! Brought it home and fine tuned the saddles on the bridge and bam. Sounds wonderful now. That's my advice.

A question, not sure if I can explain what i want to ask properly.

Here goes.

If you're finger picking the Chords E,D,G and, to make it simple, for the chords you pick E bass note then e,b,g. again to keep it simple, one note per beat.

So it's E,e,b,g - G, e.b, g, - D,e,b,g....etc. nice and easy four beat per measure and one chord per measure.

What do you do when there are two or three chords in one measure?

What do you pick?
