what was great about waiting for 2 tv channels to go off air if you was around in the 70s you could see this every night as they didnt transmit 24 hours a day
The announcement over BBC2 credits was as follows:
For viewers in the West Midlands and Yorkshire, that was the last programme on BBC 2 on analogue television. From tomorrow morning BBC 2 will be digital only in these areas. Services will be off-air tonight whilst the final engineering works are carried out. From 6am tomorrow you may need to retune your Freeview television or box to continue watching BBC 2.
I saw BBC2 and ITV1 go off-air, and was waiting and waiting for ITV1 to move frequencies. Eventually I got bored and just went to bed though... when it happened in Wales, the frequency was moved within 5 minutes! Wonder why it took so long for Yorkshire?
