Dude, first thing you souldnt do when wetting your iphone or ipod is turning it on after it just had happened, or even worse charging it when the components inside is all wet, because it wouldve short circuited and burned the components even the mother board, it would work if you wait it out for a month and itll totally dry up like nothing happened, blow it, let it sit in a bag of rice, dont turn it on if you only think its dry in the outside, then turn in on if its sure dry inside then itl work

Simple solution. I saw this on another video on Utube when I was looking how to replace the battery. Soak the iPhone is at least 91% rubbing alcohol. I tried it after accidentally knocking the phone in the toilet. Gave it a quick few seconds soak and it worked a little better, then stopped. Figured I had nothing to lose so I gave it a ten minute soak, and except for a slightly darker screen, it works perfectly.
