i saw mastodon, high on fire, and baroness at the scion rock fest in atlanta. as amazing as that was, neurosis trumped them all. best day of metal i've seen in my life.
heard this song for the first time today and the intro is soo fucking awesome. i actually heard the blue record before the red, now i cant decide which one i like more. cant wait to see em live. three weeks to go.
Oh my god I'm so looking forward to seeing them live in january!!! this performance is amazing, but the blue record is excellent (my album of the year) so I guess it will be a great live experience!
I saw Baroness with Opeth, and they played non-stop for about an hour. It was truly epic, and for an opening band to pretty much the greatest prog metal band ever (imo), they were absolutely amazing. About twice as good live than on the CD, and even the CD was awesome.
because maybe... just maybe they want to listen to this amazing band play an unbelievable song instead of beating the living hell out of each other. im assuming thats what you mean.
Eh, I wouldn't necessarily call it Sludge Metal. I'd consider it more along the lines of groove metal. If it was heavier/grittier (more of a High On Fire taste), then it would be more sludge. Either way these guys are fucking sick. IMO a Mastodon, Baroness, High On Fire tour would be one of the single greatest musical moments of my life
I think they sound a lot different then Mastodon, but I can see the comparison. Baroness is way mor "doomy" and "trippy" as opposed to Mastodon that has more of a punk-metal thing going. I FUCKING LOVE BARONESS!!!
On Baroness First and Second album they sound similar to mastodon, on their newwer album, they have kind of became more progressive and doomy and away from that mastodon sound
I love the opening this song, it slowly gains more and more confidence and it flows nicely into the main riff. The singer needs to warm up a bit, but overall it's a great performance!
ugh! nice friends you have. they stayed 2 times at my flat in innsbruck on there eurotours. there are friendly in deed but they stink way out man!!! i supported them with fresh sock and some liquour for our noses.

Red and Blue are both base colors, so Yellow is definitely next.

@Shark71warrior But in an artists world we follow by the RGB rule so maybe a greener album is next? ;)

I don't understand how this band is so underground in America. My friends have no idea who they are.

they're undergroundish in america, much less in germany. the crowd probably didn't know what hit them.

You guys should really stop comparing mastodon, and baroness. They are not similar. Mastodon is Mastodon,Baroness is Baroness.
