Sure Heaven and Hell was a good album. It was a great album.

But it wasn't Black Sabbath.

It was the Ronnie Dio Group.

I won't even mention Deep Sabbath, or Black Purple or whatever the hell that mess was supposed to be....

Their worst albums - Technical Ecstacy and Never Say Die. Ozzy blamed for being off his face. But both TOTALLY mastered, engineered and produced by Tony Iommi. And that's Ozzy's fault? I can't believe how shit NSD is. What a CRAP guitar sound. Cheese graters scraped along old piano wire. And the farce that is Gillan - I won't even go there. If the definitive Aston Martin is the 1967, they can make 1000 skips with wheels, there's only one true Aston Martin. Don't matter how many fakes there are.

Bullshit! does Page = Zeppelin? absolutely not! TRUE Black Sabbath can only be Ozzy, Tony, Geezer & Bill just like TRUE Zeppelin can only be Robert, Jimmy, Jonesy & Bonzo.

Yeah, and they are different bands. Zeppelin didn't make another 10 albums after Ozzy left (Ozzy only made 8 in his time with Sabbath). How can a lineup that didn't even make a majority of the albums be definitive? The only thing that is definitive is that Iommi is the only member on every single one. That's why it makes sense. Ozzy wasn't the be-all, end-all of Black Sabbath, Iommi is. End of story.

Zeppelin could have gone on and dragged the band's name through the mud after Bonzo died but they did the honorable thing by calling it quits when it was time, just like Bill did the honorable thing by quitting shortly after Tony pussed out and made him sack Ozzy, saying "I missed him terribly. By the end Tony was calling all the shots and we weren't a band anymore. It wasn't right without Oz." if TRUE Black Sabbath wasn't definitive then why were they the only line-up acknowledged by both HOFs?

You mean that HOF that hasn't inducted Deep Purple, KISS, Rush, Judas Priest, Alice Cooper, Bob Seger, Thin Lizzy, Yes, Iron Maiden, and countless other amazing bands? Yeah, lets use them as the measuring stick.

Besides, that's how they chose to induct themselves, the HOF acknowledges Black Sabbath as the entire band, but invited the original four.

You make it sound like this just happened. It wasn't the end of the world when Ozzy left Sabbath, and the music written after that is actually quite good. It's sad that some people can't appreciate good music just because of what's written on an album cover or who's singing on the microphone.

please dont think of me as someone who only listens to vocals and ignores the music. I happen to love sabbath's guitar tone and the way they sound really sludgy and dark. I just don't think that sound is complimented by someone like Dio.

Dio's Sabbath are a different style, but still brilliant. Heaven and hell and mob rules are great albums and true classics. As much as the three albums Dio recorded with rainbow,and his first two solo works. You might dont like the guy or the style, but still is brilliant, and is a classic.

And i tend to thin there is much a snob thing with Dio and Ozzy. "Alternative" kids use to think Ozzy is "cool", and Dio's not, as well he is too close to 80's metal. They think they can laugh at Dio, and that's very stupid. It's not about music it's about being cool, and i'm not into that.

Its not about being cool, its about not being completely removed from reality. I don't really like Ozzy's stuff with Randy Rhoads for the same reason, its all hair metal and being completely untouchable. Who can relate to that stuff, the cast of KRULL?!

You talk about ozzy, and the song "Crazy train", talks about a completely real situation, his state at the time. I'm not from the cast of krull, and i feel moved by Ozzy's stuff, and Dio's stuff. Although i don't have a preference for epic fantasy lyrics, there are excepcions, and Dio's one.

Well, sorry i can't agree. And i never in would call Ozzy solo or Dio's Sabbath "glam". I like glam, but for me glam is T.Rex, Bowie, Kiss, Alice Cooper, etc. I find nothing to do with glam in Ozzy or Dio. No frivolity-androgynous-party attitude. Dio's Sabbath tried to modernice thier sound according to NWOBHM rules, in fashion at the time. And Ozzy's music is just classic hard rock. Aniway, always music is so subjetive. May be diferent things to each one.
