I don't know. Between Gold Soundz, In the Mouth of the Desert, Shady Lane, AT&T, Range Life, Summer Babe, Zurich Is Stained, Pueblo, Texas Never Whispers, and others...there's something infinitely redeeming about this song. Something amazingly vulnerable, like some testament to the obvious fragility in all our lives. It's about not knowing--and knowing. Everybody's got to ride in something.
this album is really well produced. i dont understand all the pavement fanboy hostility towards godrich's production. As if he was Spector fucking up the Beatles or something. its nonsense
this song is so clever.i love all the hints to the big riff which are hidden in the subtle 1st part and how it all ties up at the end turning out all massive yet remaining understated and natural somehow..mester Malkmus is just a natural..
I love this record. It just captures everything that was Pavement in such a well-produced way.

0:23 Q: "...who was it that said the world is mania, divorces, and spare change?"
A: Lenny Bruce, right?
Q: Why do "the gypsy children in electric dresses live in crematoriums and smoke your remains" ?
A: They're insane.
