@defygravity221 This is what I gather from it. A man notices a "sickness" slowly tearing apart someone he cares about. This sickness he then notices to be feeding off of of his friends and family and he wants to destroy it you could say. Jordan doesn't describe what the sickness is, but probably not a literal sickness like a cold. He portrays the sickness as a physical being that sucks the life out of the people he cares. He then talks about physically tearing apart the sickness until it could-

He wants to refashion the sickness into a throne for "hope to sit", so he breaks its bones and with a mortar he made from its blood and his spit. He's trying to take everything it has done to him and his family and turn the fear or hurt into a hope. In the next latter part of the song he sings about keeping his family and friends close to him. that's just how I interpret the song, and I think its pure poetry

@defygravity221 i think i read somewhere the entire album is about a king whos daughter wants to marry a peasant, and the king doesnt like that so one day while the peasant was on a boat in a river he has the river flooded and when its all over he finds out he killed his daughter along with the man.

@edward1432 Most of this is him half screaming half talking, not singing. He really doesn't "sing" much. He talks with emotion and screams. They are post-hardcore.
