    youtube.com/watch?v=9cEpiH5LvPo

  • i dont want to be mean or anything but ur strumming pattern is crap. it doesnt sound anything like it and learn how to teach guitar bc ur everywhere with it

  • This was the first song I learned to play on guitar. I wrote my own acoustic song using the same chords here, called Ready for Love, and just uploaded it. If you can play this song, just change the strumming pattern and chord pattern slightly, and you'll be Ready for Love, too! LOL

  • thanks a lot u've a big help to me!!

  • Back to the comment on who coverd it ino bon jovi did a cover , because I love this tune but always beleaved it to be bon jovi as I only ever heard Jon signing it

  • its weird how similar is to "everlast - this kind of lonely"

  • This is the first song a learned to play. Your video has been a huge help!!!!! Thanks so much

  • Great Job with the recording and the down and up strokes for us begginners thank you so much...yes I agree with showing the ending

  • Thanks, the ending is on my list of stuff to do, it's a long list!!!!

  • you should show the ending part.

  • I should have put it in but I forgot when I was doing the lesson. It is basically a little riff on the G chord.

  • sorry man but singing isn't for you

  • Thanks! Carry On!!!

  • Ok and will do :)

  • i learned this for my mom and she LOVED! it. thanks for the video man :)

  • No problem, thanks for the comment!!!!

  • good video thanks

  • No problem, thanks for the comment!!!!

  • OK!. i get it. my bad. i was thinking of a different song. So no more "Hey stupid" or "RETARD!".... ok?... im wrong, ur right. is that wat u wanted to hear u big ass babies?

  • i hate to break your heart bro but i think Guns 'n' roses did this song.

  • Sorry you are not correct, if you can find a Guns n Roses version then please send me the link becuase the only version I have seen is the Poison version.

  • @tedrow57 Wow you're stupid.

  • @tedrow57 guns n roses did a cover but poison did the original your wrong .

  • @tedrow57 ummm wow you are totally incorrect my friend poison did this song back in 1988 was off the "open up and say...ahh" album

  • @tedrow57 nah they dont., sorry man i had thought so too. but i was wrong as well. :(

  • thanks never to old to learn to play

  • No problem and no never too old to learn.

  • Greattt!!! best cover for sure! a curiosity when you playing in 00:30, the first G you use the strumming from the lesson or there is something else?

  • Thanks and well picked up. The part you are refering to I used D D DU UDDUDU instead of D D DU UDDDU which I stated in the lesson (so an extra Up strum). I tend to switch between these two patterns to keep it interesting, it does not matter which one you use.

  • @educationalmaterials Awsome!!! tkss again! really liked these strummings!

  • @educationalmaterials Cool!!! tks for the info!!! tis really a great strum!! tks a lot =D

  • THE MOST AWESOME!!! Great ExplaNaTioN!!:D

  • Thanks, much appreciated!!!!

  • thank you!!! lo necesita de verdad

  • No problem!!!

  • Excelente explicacion!!

  • Thanks

  • thank you so much!!! i've always wanted to learn this song and now i did thanks for your help 5 stars!!!!

  • Glad you found it useful, thanks for the comment!!

  • @educationalmaterials I ALWAYS FOUND THE DOWN UP DOWNDOWN ITS ALWAYS BEEN TOUGH FOR ME. WHATS THE BEST WAY TO GET REMEMBER ALL THAT/ ? THANKS

  • Same the strumming pattern as you strum it and have the chords and strumming pattern written down in front of you.

  • I can play it now thanks so much! :D

  • No problem, thanks for the comment!!!

  • Thank you SO MUCH. After some women problems learning this song has been...cathartic.

  • Thanks and glad that it helped you out!!

  • Struggling with the rythm, but awesome way to learn it, thanks!

  • Keep on practicing, thanks for the comment!!!

  • lil confusin with the tabs, but anyway pretty good! :D

  • I assume you are talking about hte chord diagrams??? They are pretty straight forward, 6 lines for 6 strings, dots represent finger placement on fret board, circles are open srings and crosses are strings you don't play.

  • Not to thank you the same as everyone else but this will be the first song I'll know how to play on my guitar! I've got the beginning down so far :) Thank you!

  • Always happy get more comment, even if similar to others. Well done to you and keep practicing!!!

  • Wait when u say tune down half a step u mean for example the g note in the g cord would sound like an f sharp right

  • Yeah but you just tune down the whole guitar so it would be Eb, Ab, Db, Gb, Bb, Eb.

  • Ya but sharp right cus it's a half step

  • and Eb is the same note as a D# so yes you can call them D# etc if you like

  • Very helpful make more

  • Thanks and will do, stay tunned!!!!

  • THANKS MATE LOVE YA!!!!!!!!!

  • No problem, thanks for the comment!!!

  • very GOOOD!

  • Thanks

  • I am guessing this means something about thankyou, in which case no problem and thanks for the comment!!

  • Thank you for spending so much time on the strum pattern. The chords are easy, but as a beginner I have more trouble nailing the patterns, this was exactly what I needed. Excellent lesson, thank you very much!

  • No problem, glad you liked it!!!

  • you really mean

D DDU; UDDDU and then DDDDU; UDDDU 'cause DDDDU is 1, 2, 3, 4& but i assume you're showing it

DD DDU to make it simple to show it looks like

D DDU UDDDU , right? Trouble with learning by ear is it doesn't account for rests and things like that but it does allow us to learn faster.

  • Yes u are correct if u are using 1/8 notes, but u could also use 1/16 notes and make the strumming pattern one bar and change the tempo. Bascially I am trying to keep it easy as possible cause most people out there have very little knowledge on music theory, which includes me to some extent. I just know how to play guitar and can show others some of the stuff i know which seems to help them.

  • Do you mean the word bar as measure? i see bar as four measures. The U and D only seen one other time on utube. thx!! be nice if e.g., you'd put the count above the U and D 'cause i assume you mean e.g., D DDU; UDDDU is this: 1 3 4&; &2 3 4& Downbeats are (&); up beats are counts 1,2,3,4- I was taught 1&2&3&4& are 8 beats making a measure; 2 measures are just that two measures like D DDU UDDDU, a rhythm. I thought a bar was 4 measures. So D DDU UDDDU;DD DDU UDDDU is a bar or 4 measures.

  • My music theory is not that great so u could be correct. I call one bar one lot of 4/4 timing. THe reason I don't put the count in is cause it is difficult to do with the video editing program i use.

  • very well

  • thanks

  • 12-6=

    cloud

  • How very interesting

  • I've wanted to learn to play the guitar for a long time and now that I can actualy play a song as good as this I have more of a drive to keep learning more. Thanks

  • Thankyou very much for the awesome comment, keep on practicing and u will get there one day.

  • thanks alot man this video is helping soo much. im still trying to get the hang of it but im getting there :P

    THANKS

  • Great work on your part, just keep on practicing, thanks for the comment!!!!

  • whats the strum pattern??

  • Watch the video, it's all there, it is also in the info tab beside the video.

  • the finger positions for D & C are impossible. Especially if 1 is your index finger.

  • The D I play as XX0232 where the fingers you use top to bottom are 1st (on 2), 3rd (on 3), 2nd (on 2). The Cadd9 I play as X32033 where the fingers you use top to bottom are 2nd (on 3), 1st (on 3), 3rd (on 3), 4th (on 3).

  • ah I see thnx!!!!!

  • tankyou very much 5/5

  • No problem and thanks for the stars!!!!

  • He said that these was the best cover of every rose .. that he'd ever heard .. so it was a good compliment ;)

  • Thanks for the translation, much appreciated!!!!!

  • Das ist die beschissenste Cover-Version von " Every Rose" die ich je gehört habe.

    fuckin´

  • No idea what you are saying, thanks if it a compliment, if not then go find some free guitar lessons elsewhere.

  • The BEST teaching movie I have ever seen!! Thanks so much!

  • and thankyou very much for your comment, I really appreciate it!!!!

  • Great work! Like others have said, it helps out tremendously to show the strum pattern as well. But how about the end of the song? Exactly what chord/strings do you play at the 'very end?' Thx.

  • Thanks, the end of the song is just based around the G chord and picking some notes and ending on a slow strum

  • Sorry to bug you but being that I'm a beginner, I can't seem to tell exactly which notes you play individually - any chance you can give some details? It looks like the VERY last strum is all 6 strings of the G chord, right?

  • Hold a G chord, lift 1st finger off 2nd fret, pick low E, A, D strings, then on low E string pick open and then 2nd fret and then a slow strum of the G chord all strings.

  • Thanks a lot! I'm trying to pick apart your cover of this song and noticed (or maybe I'm wrong) that you didn't cover the details (ie strumming) of the 'main' solo that includes the 'knocking' on the guitar. Any chance of getting that part too? Thx!

  • I didn't cover that part becuase I am playing just single down strums and Vince is playing that part with the Knocking, I can't remember exactly what he does but it is probably something like D (knock) UDU?? I will have a listen again when I have a chance

  • good work it helped alot not only learning but being able to watch your cover and playing along with it you did a very nice job!

  • Thankyou very much, I am glad that you liked it!!!!

  • Not only was this video incredibly useful, but your cover was amazing. Keep up the amazing work

  • will this sound any good on an acoustic guitar?

  • I think so, check out our cover of it by clicking on the link at the start or the video response to have a listen. The original rhythm guitar was played on a 12 string acoustic.
