The design wasn't optimal, but I enjoyed the dilemmas this Gobby set up. Dafoe really exceeded in his role, but I have to say that the Spectacular Spider-man Gobby is equally intimidating. :)

Spider-Man 3 could have been much better if they would have put Oscorp at the center, with Harry discovering the secrets of his father as the Goblin, and establishing the dead Norman Osborne as a primary antagonist. And then, they could have revealed at the end of the film that Harry somehow knew all along that his father was the Goblin. Think it would have made for a better, more climatic film?

@VActorDreamer Of course it is not going to happen- same reason Dylan Baker is not playing Dr. Curt Connors despite the fact he never got a chance to transform into the Lizard. We are seeing that in the reboot with Rhys-Ifhans instead.

@ScarisClaudius Dr. Curt Connors was originally supposed to transform into the Lizard in "Spider-Man 2", but they decided it would be better if Doc Ock was the only villain in the story and that idea could be saved for another sequel made later.

@Illier1 It should be pretty easy to have Spidey with out MJ. She didn't appear for the first few years of Spider-Man comics. Even the Spec Spider-Man cartoon didn't have that much of her.

I love how something as random as a guy dressed as a goblin with a purple tunic flying around on a big metal missle firing bat and throwing grenades that look like jack-o-lanterns turned out to be one of the best comic book villains in history.
