@GuitarMusicTheoryTab ...not looking for the opening riff...I am referring to the riff in the middle of the song...It's a "lead" guitar riff....I think it's the G string being played at 1/64 timing...then it goes into the scale up and down, then back to the chords....listen to Ritchie Valens original. You cannot miss it.
Excellent! Just what I'm looking for a better understanding of how Music works. I can't wait to get started. I know a lot of scales and did'nt really know how to get started using them. Your course looks great and will purchase soon after holidays. Thanks Desi
what does learning scales and shit have to do with anything i can hear any song and learn it by ear its just their i dont see the point in learning all this other stuff
@keyblademaster99999 Ok, then go to the middle of the song and show me how Ritchie Valens plays that lead part....it will amaze me if you do...it seems to start on the third string, then he goes up the scale, and back before he gets into the chords, and the lyrics again...
You've just got to love how Desi puts together and brings relevance between how a chord fits within the scale and vice-versa; furthermore, an extra BIG advantage is that he is also showing the degrees of the scale (1st, 3rd, 5th etc) that makes the song become an understandable piece of music. Braavvooo Desi!
Hi Desi, That was a cool lesson. Where can I get the tabs for this lesson? I have already bought your book 'Fretboard Theory, which is a great book for demystifying Guitar Theory. Thanks.

1:36 "Starting at "G" on the 6th fret"?
Surely you meant starting at "G" on the 6th String 3rd fret.

This guy has the best teaching technique I've seen so far.
It's really enjoyable playing along with a record like that, and it really takes a lot of the mystery out of scales.
