WHY is it that if I take a risk on a high-yield investment the government steps in and confiscates taxes from any profit I make? This makes no sense to me. I take all the risk, and the government takes its share of the profit??? But if I lose money on the risky investment, the government doesn't lose a dime. Wow, how do you know so much about what I pay in taxes? Amazing! Actually, I make less than 50k right now, have made more in the past, and I pay WAY less than 40% in taxes. Way Way less. There are this things that pre tax deductions, tax deferred accounts and income tax deductions that help. Rich people know this and it is why taxing the rich never works. If I was making $49k a year and got offered a position that put me at $55k a year and I knew half would be gone, no I wouldn't do it.
The real issue at hand is about freedom and liberty. When I work, write a book, invent something, fix something up and make a profit off its sale, the money is a reflection of my time, my thoughts and my efforts. No one has a right to tell me what my time is worth. Maybe what it takes for me to life the life I want requires $100k a year, maybe your life only requires $5k. Should I get half of everything you make over $5k?

1) All fast food restaurants.
2) Higher sales tax on all non fuel efficient vehicles.
3) Legalize ALL drugs and tax them.
4) Legalize prostitution & tax it of course.
5) Tax penalties on ALL companies that move there businesses to other countries.

I actually think loud noises is detrimental to people's hearing but I don't go around telling people not to talk loudly for the sake of my hearing as much as it would be within my right for the same reason you think you can tell smokers that they can't smoke. Wow, how do you know so much about what I pay in taxes? Amazing! Actually, I make less than 50k right now, have made more in the past, and I pay WAY less than 40% in taxes. Way Way less. There are this things that pre tax deductions, tax deferred accounts and income tax deductions that help. Rich people know this and it is why taxing the rich never works. If I was making $49k a year and got offered a position that put me at $55k a year and I knew half would be gone, no I wouldn't do it.

When I work, write a book, invent something, fix something up and make a profit off its sale, the money is a reflection of my time, my thoughts and my efforts. No one has a right to tell me what my time is worth. Maybe what it takes for me to life the life I want requires $100k a year, maybe your life only requires $5k. I think everyhthing should be taxed, but with reason. It might be to much of a work, to put different ammount of tax on things, but for example; plastic surgery, junk food, cigarets, weed, alcohol, electronics should be highly taxed. The basics and esentials should be lowered/minimal on taxes..in general, that's what I think.
