What idiots think he didnt murder his child and wife, are deluding themselves.
Lets take the case that he came home to find them both dead...Unlikely, but lets take that scenario. There was no evidence of breaking and entering!
My suggestion as to why the knife was under the bed, is incase he botched the murder of his son, and if his son ran in his room. There would be a weapon he could find, and use on his son.

I came up on this clip while watching a wrestling match, and it just brings back such horrible memories. I loved Benoit, he was awesome. Drugs where definitely part of what lead to Benoit's ultimate breakdown, but they were just one piece of the whole. The man had very complex emotional issues that ran far deeper than any physical injury; everything I've read implies that he was paranoid, self-destructive, and a control freak. Combine those qualities in a guy loaded up on a combo of pain killers and roids, throw in a lifetimes worth of brain damage, and you have an inevitable tragedy waiting to happen.
@SuperRyder33 I recall a story from Chris Jericho that Benoit once blew a spot during a match, and later during the show he found Benoit in the stadium's boiler room doing squats as a self inflicted punishment. And Chavo Guerrero has said Benoit kept changing the route he took home from the airport because he thought someone was following him. Not normal behavior, even for a celebrity. He had very deep problems, not just drugs.

Before this happened, every time a wrestler died WWE would cancel the normal show and do a "best of" that wrestler's career show. This was incredibly boring and robbed people from whatever city they were in of the show they paid for. Just calling it like I see it.

Is it a coincidence the family was tragically killed exactly 10 years to the day Benoit's wife left Kevin Sullivan for Benoit and Kevin also swore revenge when she left him for Benoit? It's possible he tied up Benoit and made him watch him kill his family before finally killing him. It's also possible Benoit did the unthinkable because his wife was about to leave him.
I will be a Benoit fan no matter what, yet I will never look past the facts of what he did. However, steroids weren't even apart of the murders! His brain was the same as a 85 year old man with Alzheimer's and he could of suffered dementia. @The2xtreme69 benoit fucked up, but he should be remembered by what he did in his career as a wrestler. and he went out to the ring every night and gave everything he had for the crowd. he lived and breathed and bleed for the business and the fans and NO ONE can say otherwise. He was one of the best and the fact that he is not in the HOF for his in-ring contributions (what the HOF was created for) is a damn crime.

Steroid use has been linked to murder/suicides in the past and he had taken steroids, He didnt have it in his system at the time, but he did have an elevated level of testosterone thought to have been taken during treatment for steroid abuse. Can you say for certain it wasnt the steroids that messed him up?

@fallentwig Yeah, former wrestler Christopher Nowinski *who is now into the whole brain thing* actually looked into it and it has proven that Benoit went clinically insane due to the massive brain damage he had finally catching up to him, his family was just in the wrong place at the wrong time when it finally happened and really its a truly tragic thing to have happen, WWE cant be held liable, this issue was built up through Benoits years of wrestling through WCW, ECW and WWE

It astounds me how people defend a murderer, and the sad part is they defend him because he's a steroid popping "wrestler'. Its hard we know that good deeds dont justify what you do wrong. Although that does not mean that doing bad erases the fact you did good. Admiration can still be take from him. Before this happened, every time a wrestler died WWE would cancel the normal show and do a "best of" that wrestler's career show. This was incredibly boring and robbed people from whatever city they were in of the show they paid for. Just calling it like I see it.

Is it a coincidence the family was tragically killed exactly 10 years to the day Benoit's wife left Kevin Sullivan for Benoit and Kevin also swore revenge when she left him for Benoit? It's possible he tied up Benoit and made him watch him kill his family before finally killing him. It's also possible Benoit did the unthinkable because his wife was about to leave him.

I will be a Benoit fan no matter what, yet I will never look past the facts of what he did. However, steroids weren't even apart of the murders! His brain was the same as a 85 year old man with Alzheimer's and he could of suffered dementia. They said he had elevated levels of testosterone and that he had steroids, but the toxicology report showed that he had no roids in his system. Those who keep saying its roid rage are idiots. Its a sad story but Benoit will always be remembered as one of the best wrestlers ever. He went psycho and killed his family and Im sure he regrets having done so. We are nobody to judge the man as I know God will have his way of punishing Chris for what he did. Some things are best not talked about and this is one of those cases where you just have to admire Benoit as a wrestler and nothing else.

@wiscmarine I'm pretty sure he killed himself because he killed them. He had some type of rage attack against his wife, couldn't stop himself in time, she died. His brain couldn't handle what happened, he sent crazy text messages out, probably killed his son so he wouldn't have to live with a terrible existence knowing his dad killed his mom (plus he was mentally ill), then killed himself as punishment for what he did. Nothing was pre-meditated, just a series of crazy events.
