  • 21 November 1492 Ship PINTA under MARTIN A. PINZON separates from CHRISTOFORO COLUMBU'S fleet.

  • Deep emotions of music. The Earth is yours..

  • Columbia was italian but all the money and materials and crew of the ships were spanish.

  • Good cover!!! Fantastic!

  • Columbus was Portuguese !

  • @pauloholydiver Cristofolo Colombo era Italiano, concretamente de Génova

  • @xurifluri Errado. Era português de CUBA do Alentejo.

  • This is great! It's one of my favorite Vangelis songs and you put your own spin on it without losing the magic of the original. Way to go!

  • Stupid Spaniards, they really think they killed the natives because they had swords and shields. The only reason they killed them is because they brought diseases, smallpox killed millions and the Europeans weren't even realizing it. Also the animals died because of their diseases. They were way more civilized than Europeans too, they just believe they were superior because of their stupid history books full of lies.

  • Have you done a cover of Vangelis - Elsewhere? If not... I'm waiting ;o))

  • magnificent!! realy!! Thats realy great. You´re Vangelis Coverversions are the best! And: much better than Ed Starinks Versions!!! You have the right sounds and good additional Ideas!! Yes i am sure: your versions takes him a smile in his face ... with congratulations :)

  • Thankyou very much!

  • really good mate! :-O

  • Very good cover-version! I missed a little bit the choir part. But you`re much better than many other synthesizer cover musicians that sold CDs. You are very good! I would be interested for an own composed album by you. But inspiration stays a question of the topic. Good work, regards - Atolis

  • wow

  • thats what i call music

  • oh i love this

  • Great stuff

  • fantastic ! you should try to contact Vangelis and show him :)

  • Thankyou for the kind comments:) I think the big man would probably frown at me with those big eyebrows!!

  • @HELLENIGMA i have a common friend with vangelis! i m from greece too! it s bit difficult to contact with him...but who knows, everything is possible!!!

  • @HELLENIGMA you have a great performance too! (Prelude)

  • State Of The Art!

You're making such a warm atmosphere with

    absolutely cool sounds and rythm.

    Keep this Spirit Alive :)

  • Thankyou my friend!

  • Great job, the music is awesome !

I love Vangelis, particularly the 1492 Album, the Pinta Nina Santa Maria song (last one from the CD) is piece of art, but your remix is great aswell .

I would make just one suggestion, to create an EXTENDED version of this remix, to catch the 7:00 - 8:30 from the original music, there's an electronic sound completely amazing, I think you know what I'm talking about .

    Cheers from Portugal

  • That sound you find there is Mr. Yamaha CS80's BRASS1+BRASS2 presets treated by CS80's ringmodulator, enjoy!

    BTW: nice cover mik!

  • This is very good.I'm a big fan of Vangelis and you cover his song fantastic!five stars for you.

  • Wow, this is really an awesome cover. I wouldn't mind having some MP3 files of your work. So I can listen to it away from youtube.

  • cheers, I wouldn't mind some of yours either!..My recording equipment/mixer are not exactly "cutting edge" but you are welcome to mp3's, let me know what you would like to hear.

  • I would love to get an MP3 copy, too! This is my all-time favourite Vangelis song.

  • I agree, this is the best one he ever made.

  • This is an excellent cover and you're brave for trying as Vangelis is always going to be hard to beat!

  • Thankyou, yes I agree it's difficult to cover vangelis and I don't always get it right but it's always an enjoyable challenge

  • one word fantastic

  • Simply excellent!! :O

  • Just great!

  • Man, your version is just AWESOME!

  • Brilliant rendition of a true 'classic' synth piece.Fantastic playing. Not exactly the same as the original, but the sounds, the mood, above all you captured the 'feel' you put your own mark on it and that is what makes it so good, well done...!!!

  • glad you enjoyed it. Yes, i have "peaked" the piano in some places, and made some other errors, guess If it were perfect, what would be the point?! Thanks again,

    Mick.

  • love to, what's it about?

  • Comment removed

  • No, this track was never used in the movie 1492, it is the final track on the soundtrack album. The original is over 12 minutes long

  • just imagine the personal disappointment Vangelis felt when he first realized that this, his finest creation, didn't make it into the final film!

  • You're exactly right. I consider this his most amazing piece ever.

  • Excellent interpretation, very well done. I particularly like your live playing on other videos. It doesn't happen very often to see someone treat synths as musical instruments on YouTube...

Great programming skills, too. That CS80 like sound is very interesting - it doesn't sound exactly like a CS80 but, at the same time, it captures the whole character of the famous sound to the point it works exactly like the CS80 :-) Fantastic job!

  • Thankyou , your comments on my ESQ V Cs80 explain in words better than I can about the interpretation of a low end synth v the mighty CS80. Thankyou too for mentioning that synthesizers are true instruments and can be played just the way a violin, guitar, flute can .etc. which Vangelis proved 30 years ago

  • Made ne buy an ESQ1 on eBay. Now I got to learn play it. Thanks!!!

  • your welcome! enjoy the ESQ, the easy to use sequencer is the best part.

    And thanks for subscribing.

  • Wow, very nice CS80 imitation, what dit you use for that ?

  • thanks, Ensoniq ESQ1. 1985 hybrid analogue/digital synth. It doesn't have velocity touch keys though, so you have to manually use the mod wheel to manipulate the sound , not perfect but it does the job sometimes!

  • great music and images5*
