I think that the two women have their strengths and weaknesses. They are both beautiful singers, and I think that we should just let them be. Nightwish makes amazing music either way.

Tuomas is the one who creates the music, Tarja was and now Anette is the ones for who are those songs been written for. Tuomas is the leader ofc but what could Nightwish be without a singer. My opinion is that Tarja´s voice made "old Nightwish" and Anettes voice makes new Nightwish. We all know these songs by singers voice goddam. So for me singer makes Nightwish along with Tuomas AND other guys.

She's a pop-singer, and I expected the singer of Nightwish to be quite something else. It doesn't have to be Tarja, but someone whose singing style suits their music better.
@Pholus She is not pop, pop is not a vocal style it's a certain genre of music not all female rockers have to be grunters or sing opera.
No most haven't given her a real chance, If you were to listen you would realize she has a voice that is very reminiscent of heart and 80s female rockers.
