@superbatfirenze DeGarmo's departure was amicable. They're all still friends and talk to each other at times. It's a shame he wasn't involved in Mindcrime II, though.
@superbatfirenze DeGarmo's departure was amicable; they're all still friends, but they just wanted to go in different directions musically. It's a real shame he wasn't involved in Mindcrime II given his level of involvement in the original Mindcrime.

This is my favorite Queensryche song. Its one of the best songs ever in my opinion. Before this I used to play Operation: Mindcrime a lot. Suite Sister Mary is my favorite off that album. The first concert I ever went to was the Queensryche tour in 1991. The show was awesome and the band remains one of my favorites.
this is a fuckin great album!!! perhaps their last good album...it is so full of great songs and feelings..it takes you to a completely new, inner view of yourself..i just love it..
I love this song,I bought Promised land when it was released and expected a difference because they were not ever a mainstream outfit just listen to the difference between The Warning and Rage for order and then a complete concept album like Operation that sounded nothing like anything before to Empire that became popular because the songs were undeniably great and couldn't be overlooked by the cheese whizer's in the industry that are constantly trying to dumb the public down. This album was good
What can they say? That new type of "spin" washing machine technology was cutting edge back in '94. Great album, nice counterpoint to Rage for Order, my all-time favorite.
This song is excellent, but the only track from the album that I liked much. Empire was of course the best album they ever put out. Tate had true talent, what a voice. He and Sebastian Bach (Skid Row) could actually sing!
I remember all of the hype behind this album. Back before MTV turned to crap, they ran commercials about this album and aired a live release event. They gathered a bunch of fans together and let them hear the music first and watch the video in tandem with the T.V. audience. Needless to say, it bombed pretty bad. People were expecting another Mindcrime or Empire and you could see the disappointment in their faces. Don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan. But it was a turning point for the band.
I want to kick the shit out of the people who said this album sucks Queensryche cant rebound from a shitty ass album because they put the best albums foward
This album is great, but the one that followed, I thought was a bit weak, I don't know the ones after, I just got into this band this year but the albums Rage for Order through Promised Land is some of the best music I've ever found
Yeah, what was it? Hear in the Now Frontier? I didn't get much into that one either, and unfortunately after that, I forgot about Queensryche. Maybe I'll pick up American Soldier, though. Promised Land and Empire both terrific.
@NASCAR90 Why would you require to commit such that bad violence against such people when one of Queensryche's own good messages had been about how people should stop hating their own enemies? Queensryche had also been 100% aware that because some governments had wanted to serve the tax dollars instead of serving the greater good of man, that that had been one of the reasons why so much violence and hate had surfaced onto earth to begin with and to end with.
@NASCAR90 People who say this album sucks aren't true Queensryche fans and have no idea of the kind of band they are. They're just dumbass metal heads without a creative or imaginative bone in their body. Promised Land was their BEST album. Was the one that made me a fan in the first place.
@NotQuarex I can't see how you can possibly classify EVERY OTHER type of music on the radio as "BS" when Queensryche themselves were never such the greedy rock and roll band to therefore want music listeners to only listen to Queensryche and Queensryche only. Queensryche's a band who's also against bad things such as greed. And so therefore, the message that you had received about how every other music band is "BS" had never been sent to you from Queensryche themselves.
I do not agree this was just great, seeing him with the mohawk he was very badass, also I am one who has the opinion if a man wants to age gracefully and is losing hair do not grow it too long because it brings out more effect of baldness! but if your name is steve perry you can grow it long still at 60, love geoff though!!!
the first time I saw this I thought WTF is this! I did not like the vid nor the song!! but it grew on me and now I love it!, after empire this was so diffrent it was the last album I bought after that they lost me sorry
The first track on this album features sounds of an old man dying and flat-lining....a few minutes later, this song starts. Death & Rebirth. Being what I am, I truly appreciate this tune. Goosebumps everytime.

Hey VEVO, Queensrychye's "I Am I" and Avril Lavigne's ad promo "Smile" both on-screen.
Fucking idiots. What's next, Iced Earth with special guest Hannah Montana?
Do it, and I will make sure you wear your corporate ass as a hat.
