People do need to band together in this nation and stop letting the media, polluticians, and parties divide us. My only critique is that voting doesn't mean anything anymore. They control the machines and the counts. We need to mobilize asap and take to the streets of Washington and demand that these traitors (Democrat & Repulican) are held accountable! Its time for the Restore our Republic peaceably if possible and violently if nessissary.
The democratically controlled congress has gone hand in hand with the republicans taking our rights away. Despite an approval rating of 11% Congress has given themselves a $4,000 pay raise - funny, you and I would be fired with approval ratings of 11%. They should all go to jail.
We are living in a fascist state--corporations in bed with the gov. We have over 700 bases in over 130 countries. We are not being loved in this world. We probably have more enemies than friends. People all over the world know what the American people are going through and they know why America is the Land of Freedom and it no longer is. Vote for Ron Paul to restore this great sovereign nation!
This is a great post. Spoken directly from the heart. But you know, both parties are very corrupt and compromised. It's sad. You are right though, something has to be done!
You are right, but voting for Kerry won't change anything. Money elite controls both Republicans and Democrats. elite does not care who is in office.THEY make the rules. Not the President. Illuminati,Bones-men, International bankers and multi-national corporations are the ones controlling everything.Getting rid of them will take much more than just voting.
I would almost rather see our country destroyed by terrorists than the way we are allowing its fundamental principles to be destroyed now. If you feel this way, please contribute to the effort to restore our country and tell your representatives that you won't tolerate one more law that tramples the rights of the people by putting unnecessary power in the governments hands.
I totally agree with this guy! A lot of you people hwo live in the states probably doesnt see it, but from over here you are living in the same lie MR Hitler made for us 60 years ago. Your answer my friend lies in taking back the fourth estate (our media). Unless we can get control over that, and make it truly informative, the lemmings will continue their march off the cliff.
I must say, I am impressed. His point is well-made and brings an outright scary prospect which many have failed to realize home - that the current administration will stop at nothing to consolidate its power-base. ReluctantRedneck does a wonderful job surmising the point that the previous congress would do nothing but rubber-stamp the administration's demands - thus causing the need for a "regime change" at home in congress.
Great video.. but I don't believe there was much terrorism that ever threatened the USA .. and if there were it was well-deserved. As for the polls.. we are wayyyy past that now. What the very near future has in store for us is something few can imagine right now

I still believe we gave the power to create change. I believe the vote is the only power we have. If it's already too late, we don't have anything to lose, anyway.
I'm not fond of conspiracy theories, but there are problems in our system which are institutionally based that make it behave more like an oligarchy for the rich instead of a democracy for everyone. The problem is that you first usually have to have either wealth or the backing of wealthy sectors of the population to run a campaign for a major office. Wealthy interests are also disproportionately represented in lobbying.
Additionally, our first-past-the-post voting system constricts the spectrum of viable political candidates with the "spoiler" dilemma that largely excludes third-party politicians, who could potentially challenge conditions of power consolidation by the two major parties, from contention.
To top it all off, the concentration of mass-media power greatly inhibits people's abilities to make informed judgments about issues whose distortion would be favorable to the interests of the media's owners (e.g. It was revealed in an accidentally leaked internal memo Phil Donahue was fired from MSNBC because of his anti-war views). All that being said, ReluctantRedneck is right: We still have to try to take advantage of things as they stand to the best of our abilities.
George Bush can't be put on trial for war crimes when he, himself is not committing them. The soldiers in Iraq torturing prisoners, (if anyone) would be tried. Just because political leaders start an unwanted war, that doesn't mean they've committed a "war crime".
Plus your just a stupid democrat hick that thinx he knows what he's talking about.
How were the leaders of the Nazi party put on trial for war crimes..? Do you think Himmler was firing the ovens? Nowhere in my video did I say Bush should be charged with war crimes. I said he wouldn't be. Maybe I am a stupid hick after all... Thanks for your comment.
great reasoning Champi, but by that reasoning Hitler couldnt be tried for war crimes because he, himself didnt actually killed anyone, neither did saddam!

nope, noone has the right of habeas corpus. Bush can declare anyone an enemy combatant (without having to prove squat) imprision them indefinately. Torture them till they confess, then execute them on the basis of that confession. This is polit bureau stuff! The guy who stocked the shelf at a supermarket at which a terrorist once bought a can of peaches could be detained indefinatly for 'having supplied material support to a terrorist organisation'
as for you statement 'its nice to be able to extract info. quickly to save lives'.
Give me 24 hrs with you in a soundproof cell and I will get you to confess you were planning a sequel to 9/11. After we had executed you for your confession, just think how many lives I would have saved!
We are not talking about coercing people to confess to fictional plots. The only point of the interrogation of these guys is to get info that we can use to stop actual attacks. What would be the value of getting a false confession be? Why would we waste our time?
Ahh, I think you now understand the problem with the argument 'torture saves us lives' and sentencing ppl on the basis of torture confessions.
If I torture a terrorist into confessing to a sequel to 9/11, and I can do the same to you, all this shows is torture provides null results. The subject will tell me what I want to hear to stop the torture.
-Do you still think that torture saves american lives?
Thunderf00t, the thing is we don't want false confessions. That is not what we a looking for. Also, I believe that our interrogation practice would save lives and probably already have.
Ill bet they havent. Remember Gitmo, 'the worst of the worst'. Although it turns out they were mostly random people picked up in Afghan. Ill bet under torture they all confessed. Great for showing how many terrorists youve captured, but in intel. terms you are just wasting resources chasing up false leads.
U start with the assumption you know you have the right man, and you know the info you need to get from him. This is essentally never the case.
You have to understand that we would be 'safer' if we had a KGB that routed out all subversive thinking etc. We chose to embrace a more dangerous society (where people have freedom speech, to carry guns and move around etc) as we value freedom more highly. Abe lincons quote. 'any society that would trade freedom for security, deserves neither'.
Plato had a similar quote, This and no other is the root from which a tyrants springs, when he first appears, he is the protector'. Im taking away your freedoms to protect you! For your safety.
Its bullshit and shouldn't be tolerated. I gladly take the risk of being run over by a car for the freedom to drive. I gladly accept the risk of being killed by terrorist in return for living in a TRULY free society.
On a point of definition, in a truly free society the Leader does not have the right to detain you indefinitely on his say so alone, to torture you and sentence you to death on the basis of that torture.
If this were happening in Iran we would condemn it as a regressive and barbaric government.
But on the numbers. 911 was a one off and killed about 3000 ppl. 20 000 ppl in the US die EACH YEAR from gunshots. A similar number die from car crashes. From a numbers point of view, more people choke to death each year than are killed by terrorists. And you are willing to sacrifice you most important freedoms and spend billions in exchange for the leader saying this will help protect you? (the same leader who said Iraq was full of WMDs).
I couldn't agree with you more. We have to go to the Poles, but this time go there with Open Mind don't look for an Immidiate Gratification. Vote to Get Rid of the Shamefull, Fascist, Corrupt System. Claim the countrsy and the Good name back if any good name is left.Take interest of the person you are sending to talk for you.
GREAT! I was like, oh great, here we go... But what a great suprise, and average "red neck" American who actually thinks! Your tha Man! Keep up the inspiring work!
(tag for last commnet) There are a potential 77% of us that can correct these massive errors. RR - thanks for laying to rest a stereotype. Add me to the fan list....
Last year at this time my fears were at an all time high - and that fear was of what the country was becoming. At least now I have a glimmer of hope as more people, like the spot-on RR, tell the truth and make clear what is at stake. We can save ourselves - let's do it at the polls. John Dean (a real conservative) speaks of the 23% of the population that are without conscience - they will follow, and that's all they are capable of.
Remember not only to vote at the polls, but to vote at the cash register, since the Diebold machines can't even be trusted anymore. Stalin once said "Those who cast the votes decide nothing. Those who count the votes decide everything." The dollar bill is still the one thing that everybody counts, so let's put our money where our mouths are...
Well said, Sir. It is clear that this administration is using terror to fight terror. Being disappeared without public knowldege or recourse to justice terrorizes those who fit the profile of terrorist. The potential of these powers to expand into the civic realm can and therefore will be exercised. Washington's Farewell Address predicted the reasons. The only way I can see to reverse this process is through greater solidarity, order, and truth.
When the German people of the 1930's were asked "How did you let a regime like that take control? (at the time only around 36% voted for them in a time of massive depression...Maybe it wasn't so incredible after all
Thank goodness for you, man. I live in Alabama... scary neo-con thinking abounds here... I'm glad to hear a fellow southerner NOT buying into the propaganda. Hopefully by talking to our friends and neighbors we can start to change public opinion!
As a tall skinny, bespectacled bookish white guy from Berkeley, I have to say this ReluctantRedneck guy almost made me cry. I wish more heartland rednecks were as clear-seeing as him. What would Patrick Henry say about the Military Commissions Act of 2006? I'll give you one guess. Bravo!, ReluctantRedneck! Wish I cd buy you a beer.
I like how Olbermann pointed out that when the new president comes into office (should we be so lucky that Bush doesn't set up a total dictatorship before then) that the new president can use Bush's Military Commissions Bill of Rights destroying Act to arrest Bush himself and detain him indefinitely for whatever arbitrary reason the new president decides.
yeah this is pretty F'ed up to put it nicely. Bush is a madman, and he is with a gang of people more evil than himself. Pretty scary. Good work! Speak out! Get informed! WWW.THEBLACKPACKET.COM
I think the whole point of the argument is that the US is introducing or putting into place a law that allows "them" to put anybody in jail just on "their" say so - without due trial or any reasonable burden of proof...you only have to look at history to see what happened to countries that allowed this kind thing
Shafiq Rasul, Asif Iqbal and Rhuhel Ahmed. If you don't know who there are, don't say so, you'll only be showing that you truly haven't done any research regarding the issue you're so thinkly speaking of.
that is intirely not the point. The fact is that they can if they want to. The whole point of Checks and Balances is that they should not be able to. Thats like giving a kid a gun and saying its ok as long as he doesent shoot anyone.
no one as of yet. but think american citizens in WW2 were "relocated" for the crime of simply being japanese. they had to wait 4 decades and 8 presidents for an apology.
BRO!!! You are reaching Thousands of people...You need to do a PART 2 Please, word is OUT!! Thay love you! Except for the small percentage that work for the GOV'T. F-EM! I will be with you with the M-16 fighting on our own soil!!
In 2004, Bush received 62,041,268 votes, just over 50% of the votes cast. The U.S. had a population of about 293,000,000, of which about 202,000,000 were elegible to vote.
In other words, in 2004 about 30% of eligible voters or about 21% of the total population voted for Bush--not even close to "a majority of Americans".
In 2000, Bush didn't even get a majority of the votes cast.
Bush won because his supporters were more motivated and better organized, not because they were the majority.
It's questionable as to whether they did. There was a major discrepancy between exit polls and actual votes, which suggests that there was some fudging up in Ohio just like in Florida.
I am 15 years old and am disgusted by what my so called "peers" or "leaders" have done with my country, what ever happened to the government invisioned by James Madisson and Tohmas Jefferson!? A country ruled by rules, not rulers. What happens when people just disobey the rules without concequence? the power of those rules disapears. there is no law of the U.S. higher than the constitution, and that sould be recognized.
you are right about what is happenning here, but i dont think voting is going to solve much. our own congresspeople have been giving away our rights for decades now. the whole system is perverted now. i believe another triggering event will happen and then the feds are going to try and take over. the states need to stop being such bitches and giving power to the federal govt. the future will be state vs. federal
wow man! you rock! finally a redneck who isnt blinded by the media and propaganda! (i say redneck not as an insult but because of his name) but keep posting vids and let ur voice be heard!
I can tell this guy is from Ohio because he reminds me of all my neighbors and relatives. Real people. It's where real America lives...not in NY or LA. I wouldn't live anywhere else on God's green earth than good old Ohio...
I feel really guilty now after watching this. I just assumed this was going to be a response in defense of Bush. Guess I should tone my stereotyping down a notch.
We need more people like this guy.

Thunderf00t 5 years ago
Plato had a similar quote, This and no other is the root from which a tyrants springs, when he first appears, he is the protector'. Im taking away your freedoms to protect you! For your safety.
Its bullshit and shouldn't be tolerated. I gladly take the risk of being run over by a car for the freedom to drive. I gladly accept the risk of being killed by terrorist in return for living in a TRULY free society.
Thunderf00t 5 years ago
We are a truly free society and we have a President that isnt going to gladly accept Americans being killed by terrorists.
TraditionalAmerican 5 years ago
On a point of definition, in a truly free society the Leader does not have the right to detain you indefinitely on his say so alone, to torture you and sentence you to death on the basis of that torture.
If this were happening in Iran we would condemn it as a regressive and barbaric government.
Thunderf00t 5 years ago
But on the numbers. 911 was a one off and killed about 3000 ppl. 20 000 ppl in the US die EACH YEAR from gunshots. A similar number die from car crashes. From a numbers point of view, more people choke to death each year than are killed by terrorists. And you are willing to sacrifice you most important freedoms and spend billions in exchange for the leader saying this will help protect you? (the same leader who said Iraq was full of WMDs).

I think the whole point of the argument is that the US is introducing or putting into place a law that allows "them" to put anybody in jail just on "their" say so - without due trial or any reasonable burden of proof...you only have to look at history to see what happened to countries that allowed this kind thing

that is intirely not the point. The fact is that they can if they want to. The whole point of Checks and Balances is that they should not be able to. Thats like giving a kid a gun and saying its ok as long as he doesent shoot anyone.

So why did a majority of Americans vote for George W???
Paybug 5 years ago
They thougtht it was in their interest. Hopefully they have changed their minds.
ReluctantRedneck 5 years ago
In 2004, Bush received 62,041,268 votes, just over 50% of the votes cast. The U.S. had a population of about 293,000,000, of which about 202,000,000 were elegible to vote.
In other words, in 2004 about 30% of eligible voters or about 21% of the total population voted for Bush--not even close to "a majority of Americans".
In 2000, Bush didn't even get a majority of the votes cast.
Bush won because his supporters were more motivated and better organized, not because they were the majority.

I am 15 years old and am disgusted by what my so called "peers" or "leaders" have done with my country, what ever happened to the government invisioned by James Madisson and Tohmas Jefferson!? A country ruled by rules, not rulers. What happens when people just disobey the rules without concequence? the power of those rules disapears. there is no law of the U.S. higher than the constitution, and that sould be recognized.

you are right about what is happenning here, but i dont think voting is going to solve much. our own congresspeople have been giving away our rights for decades now. the whole system is perverted now. i believe another triggering event will happen and then the feds are going to try and take over. the states need to stop being such bitches and giving power to the federal govt. the future will be state vs. federal
