  • Great. This vast region of Brazil, the highplains, backlands where the wolf - lobo guará lives, and tatu-armadillo and anteater-tamanduá are called Cerrado. The more ancient landscape of the world, as some Phds said.

  • I seriously thought these guys lived in Africa. I must be confusing them with the Aardwolf.

Manedwolves are so cute but they really smell bad.

  • wonderfull! 5/5

  • Did it ever occur to "scientists" that it's possible that animals just moved out into different regions until they found a habitat they could thrive in as their predators chased them? They just spread out to the point that they are able to survive according to their kind. Snakes can't follow long-haired rabbits to the plains and cold weather locations, for example.

  • yes that has occured to scientists.. thats how relatives of mainland species are found on remote islands. millions of years ago that species spread to the island and were then seperated from the main population and began to evolve differently eventually causing the totally different species we see today.

thats a huge part of the evolution theory, a animal finds a advantage, be it location away from predators or a specific food source then evolve to take full advantage of the change.

  • or maybe in the begining every animal was everywhere and just died off where it couldn't live

  • Then how do explain invasive species? If invasive species can live in a given environment today it should have been able to live there in the "beginning". Why do we see species moving into new areas and thriving?

  • @ColonelMarksman If you have thought of it, I am pretty sure it has already occured to the scientists. Actually, they have answers already to your point :) .

  • canada is better then u.s sry to say this

  • In Canada a crazy man with a knife cut off somebody's head while approx 36 others passengers ignored him and left. They were then commended for not doing anything by their government.

  • go to hell, fasist atianik of shit.

  • im going to buy an ant eater for a pet tomorrow

  • I love maned foxes they soo cute !! :3

  • wolves*

  • cool

  • maned wolves are beautifull!!

  • Well, I would like to inform you that BBC this time is doing their job in LATIN AMERICA, BRAZIL! If you don't know, geographicaly divided we have North America, central America and South America. The video was done in SOUTH AMERICA! Do you have maps? Books? google earth?? Go and try to full your brain with GOOD information and I do aprecciate BBC with all the documentaries the make. It's very helpfull and knowledble!

  • you are such a typical american,

he is referring to the american continent

stop thinkin that the USA is the world, learn somethin about the planet u come from

    ignorant american!

  • it can be referred to as both for Christ's sake. Its the same thing as how you can either say Eurasia, or Asia and Europe. Don't be so quick to judge

  • lobo guará

  • beautiful

  • could lions survive here?

  • it looks like the wolf was having fun hunting the mouse. kinda like a cat and mouse looking scenario.

  • If everyone leaving these "know it all" comments, actually knew what they were talking about, they might be working for the BBC.

  • Really? Why do you say that?

  • let me tell you why. BBC plays anti-american propoganda. people think they know all about america when they haven't even been here. you can't say all americans do this or all americans do that because americans come from all corners of the world. you can't generalize such a diverse culture. some of the things foreign news sources say about us is just stupid. no we aren't all rich, we aren't all fat, and we aren't warmongers. 90% of our pop. is against all the war. use your brain.

  • To be honest, I'v only ever watched nature shows on the BBC. They do a decent job at that. But I am getting more and more pissed about other "news sorces" painting all Americans with the same brush. I didn't realize the BBC was one of those asshole orginaztions.

  • well, i doubt ruining our reputation is their goal. its the same problems with all media outlets, shitty boring stories don't sell. the problem with that is if you hear any lie over and over it becomes true in your mind.

  • Although I don't watch BBC (obviously because I don't live in GB) I think I can safely say that you are underestimating British people. Besides, aren't they your allies?

  • we are supposed to be. you see, even though we never really think about england over here in america, they can't seem to keep our countrys name out of their mouths. for some reason hating america is a cool thing to do. most have never been here, never even met an american, but they are EXPERTS on us apparently..

  • Dear ..... I would like to invite you to go to the school, pick up some maps books, read some, see some maps and find out where this movie was filmed. If you are able to do that, them you have to read your SHITT comments again and think more than three times before go writing fullish things.

  • I have never seen any anti american propaganda on the bbc, if you would like to link me to some I'd appreciate it. Also I thought to be american you had to come from america? last time I looked america was not the whole world, though I'll admit a lot of americans act as though it is.

  • the argument could be made that since American culture dominates the modern world, in a slight sense the world all put together is America since America is based off of all of the worlds cultures combined. Sorry, lol, just had a random thought

  • Yeah but you could use the same logic with the UK, we have so many diverse cultures here and people from all around the world as well but having people from different cultures does not make that country the world.

  • True, true

  • Guará Wolf

  • conichiwa my hoes

  • Maned wolves eat more then just mice. Theur actual main food source is the relative of the tomato. Out of all canines it is the most veggy eater. Because this was not known for a long time many maned wolves in captivity died from lack of eating the proper diet.

  • The tomato-like fruit is called Solanum lycocarpum or wolf apple - no points for guess why though I am affraid!

  • thats pretty cool!

  • I never knew that, cheers

  • @KitsuneNeko grats on wikipedia

  • He thanks you

  • @KitsuneNeko Except for the fact they are not canines. :)

  • Ok it's a Canidae, same thing

  • @tenmashi they are in the canine family but they arent classified as wolves, dogs, or coyotes

    (hyenas arent canines)

  • @KitsuneNeko FAkkk offf

  • all that effort for just one tiny mouse

  • the wolf there is just a big pussy cat!

  • Lobo Guará

  • awesome !!!
