Hard for me to believe that at one time, I couldn't get the red or green thieves. I couldn't deal with the power-up runs that it took to get to those lop locations. Now it's a breeze. Once you know how to do this level, it's no longer difficult. Just a matter of knowing where to go, what turns to take and mastering the power runs.

Sonik you might hate me for saying this but this was my favorite level in the game, just because of the supercharges and the fact that I didn't have much trouble with this level.

There is so much of my childhood in this level alone, let alone the entire game. This, Dark Passage, Dark Hollow, Ice Cavern, Blowhard, and many others resonate with me so much more than any other game I've played. Mostly the music, the skies, the atmosphere, everything. One of the biggest shames for me was that upon exiting the level the crystals and items didn't return, like the notes in Banjo Kazooie. Maybe they all could have turned grey and the cooured ones were the ones you'd missed.

i remember red fire dashing threw this level, all u have to do is start dashing on the first arrow segment, jump onto the tree log while still dashing,, then jump over to the main path where the main arrows are and dash down, then u got the red flame, ull be going much much faster and when jump at the end of it you will be so high ull be able to fly PAST the island or whatever u wanna call it.

Just found a cheat that gives u 99 lives just be in a home land hit pause go into inventory and hit the square 6 times and the the circle and up and that circle left and the circle right and then just the circle once u in pause you have 99 lives. and also, the reason you kept missing that treasure chest is because you weren't getting on the second ramp early enough. you had too much air time or something. it's really easy if you just immediately take the first ledge to the second ramp instead of the ramp that's farther away. i'm sure you know that by now though

It's okay if you aren't good at this level. I don't know anyone who is, actually. I'm REALLY good at playing Spyro and still this one gets me. Never got 100% on this one, never caught all of the thieves, and I get lost ALL THE TIME.

I have a top 4 bad levels:

I don't put them like easy to hard or something

1: twilight harbor. (Reason: enemies with annoying machineguns.)

2: misty bog. (its very hard because there are only 2 chickens in the level and the enemies are annoying.)

3: haunted towers. ( There is one dragon. And for a beginner he is very annoying to get if you don't know what to do.)

4: tree tops ( two thiefs who are very annoying to get and much different paths.)

Pathway after Lyle help: jump on tree with two monkeys, take a left and on the 2nd path. take a hard left and run UP the next path jump and jump again and glide, ull reach the yellow thief.

Supercharge+Jump gets u too the yellow thief. And if u have gotten too haunted towers and u haven't found all of the treasure and the last dragon yet, supercharge off of the ramp with all of the armor men by it and glide too the platform&go upstairs.

when going down the path in fron of lyle, past the monkeys, and down the second one, too smash into the steel box, dont jump after the supercharge just go off the ramp.(just keep holding down square and DONT PRESS JUMP CAUSE ULL OVERJUMP IT AND MISS!)

This level was one of my favorites in the entire game! Everything about it was so different from any of the other levels of the game, most notably its non-linear design. Not only that, but the music is absolutely amazing! Stewart Copeland is an genius. :)
