at least these people live in a country (USA) where they are free to choose their religion, free to choose to convert TO islam. if these people lived in a muslim country, converting FROM islam would be a crime. as an atheist i know that christianity and islam are bad for society, but at least christianity doesn't place a penalty on leaving it.
