@TheIHalou I just went to wikipedia just now, and it said that even tjhough Niko Bellic spoke and read in Serbian, his true nationality is unknown, and his nationality is said by a GTA IV producer that Niko is from the "grey part of Eastern Europe". Niko's nationality is left with the player to decide of his nationality. Also, he was greatly involved in the Yugoslav wars(1991-1995).

The main beat then kicks in which fades into the powerful emotive force that you described, almost as if there is a forceful and powerful undercurrent that is not seen by the everyday world. Just my thoughts, either way it's brilliant.
