  • Its such a shame Josh Eppard is gone.. Chris Penny is a great drummer but Eppards style suited Coheed some much more. He secretly made the band.

  • @Snoopbob2006 You're in for a surprise

  • @Snoopbob2006 Fortunately...

  • @Snoopbob2006 Yeah man thats the thing I think a lot of people missed. He was custom made to be in that band and Pennie has even admitted that there is a lot of stuff Josh has done in songs that he is unable to.

  • Amazing bass

  • so 240p we meet again

  • Oh Damn! I was at this show!

After my first year of college I backpacked through Europe, and somehow ended up living in a tent with a bunch of kids from England at this Lowlands festival in the Netherlands. Best summer ever..

I hope all those guys are alright. London's pretty messed up right now.

  • Ahaha the top comment has 33 thumbs up

  • I don't think it's Chris's playing I think it's more the way his drums/heads/tuning sound if anything.

  • I don't think it's Chris's playing style I think it's the types of drums he uses.

  • rock in rio Fucks

  • I've seen this video before but watching it closer, and as an absoute Coheed fanatic, this vid is kind of sad. Don't get me wrong, the music is fantastic as it always is, but it almost feels like the end of an era. As much as I love Chris Pennie and think he was the perfect piece to the puzzle, all Coheed fans grew up with Josh as the drummer and remember all those classic songs with him on them. The band just looks distraught in this video. Eppard was/is the shit.

  • @Aqua4Ever04 i support this band forever but i can see what your saying. also the rythem mic and josh had together was amazing. those four guys together were perfect. chris is a good fit for his other band return to earth. it was evident on YOTBR his style isnt coheed. and im a die hard coheed fan. that will always be my opinion.

  • @mps927 You saying, "that will always be your opinion" makes you look stubborn and not open to change.

  • i love the claud's sound. I NEED it.

  • I wonde what claud and travis would think looking back at this video.

  • @juble3 they would think... "hehe, bitches." they're too cool like that.

  • yeah just been reading the Joey Jordison vs Josh stupid arguement... Not only are they 2 totally different styles of drummers but the music is totally different also...

I prefer Josh Eppard as his style is very unique where as Joey Jordison is a typical metal drummer.. I cant really be bothered with Double bass pedals... its the lazy drummers choice.. there is so much that can be done with a simple drum kit as drummers like Eppard, Barker, Bonham, Gluszak prove.. but yeah Jordison's superb too

  • LOL! Josh and Mic look fried, this was there last show before they both left. They are totally cooked on heroine. Mic probably had a pharmacy running through him, he took so many pain killers

  • I think this was their last show together.

  • @Shabutie97 I don't think so. I don't think Josh and Mic were together on any show in the UK. In the Neverender documentary, Mic jokes that he thinks his and Josh's planes crossed as he went home.

  • @JonathonFailsAtLife I meant tour, not particular gig.

  • @JonathonFailsAtLife actually it was the other way..Josh said their planes crossed.

  • @JackSparrow154 Nope, Mic said that. Lol. I just watched the documentary today, I'm 100% sure.

  • @JonathonFailsAtLife hmm well sir, it seems we have reached an impasse because I too watched it and saw Josh say it lol..but i could be wrong.

  • @JackSparrow154 Well sir, I'm a dick because I was 100% wrong.

    Shit, my bad. :)

  • @JonathonFailsAtLife Haha its cool bro

  • not a fan of he band but he shits on the guitar

  • sounds so floyd, it isn't funny.

  • Mic Todd is back on bass, but apparently he wasnt here for this show. And the new album was recorded with Foo Fighter's Taylor Hawkins on drums due to Pennie's contract obligations

  • Dude that is Mic Todd on the bass duh... this is when he was on bad drugs... that's what happens when your a druggy... you kind of don't care about anything else. That's why is beard is all grown out. This is actually like 2 months before both Mic and Josh both left. In fact this was the American Tour right before the European tour

  • if it is, i apologize. yeah i heard about the drugs and such

  • It's okay I wasn't mad... just more of "matter of fact" voice... I think this was Josh's last show though... he looks cooked by heroine

  • lol i knew u werent.

  • :'( he rocked the shit out of his last show then. it's a shame when someone gets into drugs like that

  • thats him right here dude, just has a rather large beard hahaa

  • the guitars in this song remind me of dogs and pigs(three different ones) by pink floyd.

  • thye use a talk box in the pigs to sound like a pig haha. travis uses one too. so it's similar

  • Wasn't this the last show with Josh drumming?

Shame about Josh and Mike, but seriously Mike has got so much more funk now. And I gotta say I love pennie too.

~The new album isn't as good as STTB, IKS or Good Apollo I (imo), but it's still all there you know?

  • DUDE CHECK OUT THAT SWEET BEARD MIC HAS!!! That's what Heroine and pain killers make you do, not care about how you look.

  • I don't know why they gave you thumbs down, if it's true. These really were dark times for Coheed.

  • Seriously dude they were, I love the band, but I hate the fact that Mic and Josh drugged themselves up so much. Losing Josh in the process

  • Yeah man, but if Pennie picked up the pieces so well. Everything just fell into place. Like it was meant tobe.

  • ANd fuckin Mic is better than ever dude... he is one funky man..

  • Hell yea. I hate how people bash on Chris. But you gotta give him chops man. He came in, wrote all the drumming for the new album. And had to learn ALL of the songs off the back for Neverender.

  • Definitely a sad time for them.

  • Dude your so right, what the hell is everyone giving them a thumbs down. This is when Josh and Mic when outta control with drugs... sad times at least Mic came back though... too bad Josh didn't. Not discrediting Chris at all, but I enjoy Josh's own unique playing. Josh added the R&B Hip Hop beat to it that I like.

  • they didnt really look like they were having fun tbh

  • This was a dark time for Coheed and Cambria.

  • Look at Josh... He doesn't care.... Mic isn't jumping around and Claudio/Travis just want out.

Different note: Where can I get this show?

  • Comment removed

  • Yeah, I never smile when I play drums. Even if I'm playing Everything Evil.

  • Fuck speed, that isn't all that matters. CREATIVITY is twice as important. Honestly I feel comfortable saying that Beyonce is an equally talented songwriter as any Slipknot member.

  • I meant to say more talented.

  • lil wayne wishes he was as talented as Coheed. Claudio and travis destroy lil wayne on guitar. Claudio alone is more creative and talented than lil wayne. Coheed is definately more talented, and creative than lil wayne will ever be. People are so ignorant when it comes to music.

  • hellz yeah mother fuckers i get to see them at starland ballroom may 29th wooooo i can't wait

  • simply put

    "epic" :D

  • Coheed will kick your ass.

  • All these comments gave me a great idea. Okay so listen, if we're ever in a war (or you are an evil mastermind bent on taking over the world) make all your soliders co&ca fans. Then, point to a country/place on a map and say "okay, all the d-bags in (insert name here) just said that the jonas brothers are better than coheed."

congratulations, you will now have an army of troops blinded by violence and ready to march into battle with the passion of 100000 suns.

  • or maybe i'm just baked, but this video is amazing and COHEED FUCKING ROCKSSS

  • is it just me or does travis look like joey eppard for most of the song

  • I want to make love to Claudio Sanchez.

    No homo of course.

    *ahem*

  • dude its totally cool id grab his beard and ride him for all he's worth

  • agreed with shabutie, some of their songs do that to me alot.

  • i have the guitar claudio is playing =D

  • at 4:09 it looks like claudio reached for his cell phone lol

  • this is the shit man. Coheed fucking rule. It's sad though that most people don't appreciate this type of music because it kicks ass. Like jsut today some girl told me that the song "lovebug" by jonas brothers sounded like it was harder to play on guitar than this and that they had more talent thean coheed. Bullshit right? Man I fear for todays youth (then again I am one lol)

  • That makes me want to kill a lot of people.

  • I know right man?

  • i kno exactly what your talking about. the jonas brothers suck. disney just knows theyll make a ton of money with them. its bullshit. i can play guitar better than the jonas brothers theyre fucking pussies

  • dude i love every thing you both just wrote !

  • wtf. is she serious??????? what a dumbass.

  • Ouch, dude. I have a similar story.

I converted my best friend into a Coheed fan. He had never heard of them and they are now his favorite band.

So one night at a party, Lil Wayne was playing and I told him, "I bet everyone here would say Lil Wayne is more talented than Coheed."

He didn't believe me but when we asked everyone that we had seen, there were zero people that said Coheed and Cambria was more talented than Lil Wayne.

I wanted to up fire on the entire place lol.

  • same thing happened to my friend

  • :[ that just disappoints me.

    This is great improv...

  • No way man Slipknot is not better than C&C. They opened for Slipknot probably because Slip has a much bigger fan base and the tour Coheed was on with them was metal and coheed isn't a metal band. Plus the musicianship of coheed is much better than slipknot trust me.

  • Actaully, its not better or worse. Slipknot play in panitonic scales, Coheed play in more traditional keys, it all comes down to genre styles. Again not taking anything from them, last thing i want is for some little kid to bitch on and on.

  • Coheed has more talented musicians everywhere except the drums. That is not a debate.

  • Watch some of Mick Thompson's and Jim Root's videos and I bet you will take back your word. Again, as I said before, it is style of playing. The only other people that can play scales faster then Jim or Mick are Buz McGrath and Kirk Hamet. Plus, I would rather have Cory Tayler as a vocalist rather then Claudio. He is more diverse, except from his Vol.3 days, thats just terrible.

  • Mick and Jim are total utter shit compared to Muhammed Suicmez, Jari Maenpaa, Ihsahn, Samoth, and Heri Joensen just to name a few.

  • They're shit to claudio too. I mean Mick and Jim are horrible they can't play cleanly it always sounds like utter shit. Plus claudio obviously has a better voice than corey taylor. COHEED MAKES SLIPKNOT EAT THEIR OWN SHIT

  • See I'm going to gave to disagree there. Something about the high pitch in his voice that amkes it sound good and bad at the same time. I mean, it sounds great for the type of sound they have, in fact, the reason I like Coheed is cause their songs are so well thought out and put together, but Corey Taylor is way more talented in the vocal department. As for them making Slipknot eat there own shit, you should really grow up and see the number aspect here, 9 against 4 I think coheed is eating terd

  • No he corey isn't because thats just how claudio's voice sounds. Everyone has a different sound he has a wider range and is much more talented all corey does is scream his voice away all the time and sings on some stuff the reason he mellowed down is because he can't scream anymore.

  • Claudio is better at screaming than Corey when he wants too.

  • dude!!! the only people who can play scales faster than mick or jim are buz mcgrath and kirk hammett???you sir, are on crack. how about Zakk Wylde, Alexi Laiho, DAVE MUSTAINE, Dime, or perhaps, just maybe, michael angelo batio?? mick and jim are mediocore guitar players. and as for corey taylor, he is a horrible vocalist. slipknot are entertainers, coheed are musicians. however joey jordison... i salute that guy.

  • How is any solo Dime play any different then them, its called shreding, if you look at it, they aren't playing minor or major scales in it they are playing panitonic, as i mentioned before, maybe you should pick up a music book. And second, I'm not going to go through every one who is faster then them cause then i would have to say Ynguie Malmstean(sp), Steve Vie, ect ect. Fuck Zack Wylde though, he trys to be Dime but fails.

  • if you think dime's solos are ANYTHING like shitknot's, you are a pure dumbass.

i think its malmsteen. ah oh well. and zakk wylde doesnt try to be dime. their styles are worlds away from each other. zakk is a pure pentatonic speedballer player, while dime plays modes. not pentatonic. and plus, as far as i know, none of slipknots solos are rated in the top 10 solos of all time...dimebag's are.

  • Well, considering Dime is the first to bring that style soloing into the world of metal, or music for that matter, thats why I think he made that list. Don't get me wrong, I love him. But the techneque is the same for any of the "solos" you hear in Slipknot.

Another thing. What are you, like fucking 13? Shitknot? You're so original.....=\ Fact of the matter is, Slipknot>Coheed. They have proven this with their record sales and headlining tours all over the world.

  • I know what you are thinking, "oh those are stupid emo kids who listen to them.......piss, moan, piss, moan. It doesn't matter what age group or "scean" you may be, they fact of the matter is they are better. Kinda weird though, the kids who listen to Slipknot usally have online handles like the one you have. 666 bl00d h311, i so teh metal!!11!111

  • i dunno, man. shitknot was just the first thing to come to mind. record sales and tours dont matter in terms of talent. the jonas brothers have a shitload of sales or tour dates. are they good? fuck no. have you ever heard of wretched? i wouldnt think so. check em out, look up the exodus of autonomy. they are less well known than the jonas brothers. that must mean that jb are better than them, then. right?

  • Wretched are a terrible band. Nuff said about that. As for your Jonas Brothers comment, sure they are better, in little girls eyes. Just like you, they have an opinion, just like I say Slipknot are better. And I know alot of other people will agree with me. With that said, those purity ring wearing faggots (Jonas Brothers) need to take up doom metal............=\ YA!!!

  • what kinda music do you like exactly??

  • Lamb Of God, Unearth, Bob/Damian Marley, Suicide Silence, White Chaple, Between the Buried and Me, some classical stuff (meaning Mozart and shit), classic rock, the shit that matters basically.

  • not bad man. you like whitechapel and you seriously didnt like wretched?

  • Na, sounds to much like everything else. I mean Whitechapel is good but even still I only like a handful of songs.

  • alright. point taken.

  • THIS IS THE FINAL CUT YEAHHHHHHH.

  • First of all, Slipknot isn't doom metal if that's what you're implying. Also, no one in slipknot can play anything near the complication of these solo's.

Mick thought a simple warm up was a scale, he called it a chromatic scale when it wasn't even a scale at all, shows how much he knows about guitar.

  • Nu-metal is for from doom my friend.

  • Oh and by the way, record sales and headling tours means nothing compared to ACTUAL TALENT. Look at some of the guitarists on youtube, they're not headlining any tours and selling records, yet they possess more musical talent in there finger than a lot of guitarists around the world.

  • .__.;; How is having headlining tours and MORE record sales make you better?

It's like Bloody Hell said. The jonas brothers have more sales.

Doesn't mean theyre better. THey have NO talent. They are a disgrace to gibson.

Coheed runs circles around slipknot any day.

They are true musicians, and have talent.

Josh can tear Joeys shit up.

  • Now I wouldn't say that, I love both bands, but they're completely different musically, lyrically, etc. So it's hard to say who runs circles around who. I just love the music :D

  • I'm sorry, but Coheed and Cambria is amazing.

The way they write, the way they play.

    It has meaning.

  • Yeah they have meaning, great meaning at that. My point is that there's no need to compare two extremely different genres of music lol. Comparing Slipknot to Coheed and Cambria is like comparing the Beatles to Cannibal Corpse...

  • Naw dude... Slipknot just sucks

  • @AdrianZILLA

Know exactly what you mean man :P!

But lets not get deluded here, joey is a fucknig incredible drummer, one of the best. Thats from a musicians point of view though, if not id say coheed and cambria should be used as blueprints for future civilisation.

  • @AdrianZILLA think u'll find slipknot and coheed are BOTH talented

  • Chris Pennie owns Joey.

  • this is Josh, not chris. But I agree, chris kicks fucking ass. Saw em' in atlanta on slipknots all hope is gone tour....I didnt even stay for slipknot lol, after coheed finished my friend and I left XD

  • I went to All Hope Is Gone Pensacola FL, also left after Coheed.

  • I'm falling in love with this band!! Wish I'd heard of them sooner. It's been a loooong time since I've seen such awesome, raw new talent...even tho I know they're not new...they're new to me...LOVE THEM!!

  • you can feel the Floyd influence on them, they follow the best...no wonder theyre reat

  • when it picks up at like 6:16 its amazing!

  • I wish all of their music were like this. So fucking good.

  • Claud's little lick at the 3:45 mark makes my pants all wet.

  • at the end of this song on the album it sounds like claudio is playing a banjo or a mandelin or something does anyone have a video of him playing that version?

  • you mean "Bron Y Aur" at the end on the album? they have never played that...i have not even see a cover of someone else playing it either

  • I wont compare this to Pink Floyd. It is better than Pink Floyd.

  • Umm, Coheed is amazing. But Floyd is legend!

  • how old is this vid??? anyone know?

  • at the end it says 2005 at the low lands so 3 years or so

  • 5 times live still not bored of this band

    <3

  • F*** 40/50 years old adults when they say our music and the bands of our generetion are shitty!!! This is pink Floyd with a more modern and metal sound!

  • please dont go comparing this to pink floyd

  • good jam, but the groove does get lost a couple times. and i don't sense that much communication. but it's definitely good, i just wouldn't say great.

  • name specific spots where it gets lost.

  • lol why waste my time picking through it again just to hear you say "you're an idiot, the groove isn't lost there"

  • because i won't, i honestly want to kno wat you mean. i mean if ur able to hear something i can't i want to know how to hear it.

i mean it would be a great help to me musically.

  • my apologies for assuming you're another youtube asshole. ive been encountering a fair portion of them. lol

when i said that i was being a bit nit-picky. for instance, at around 5:30, i sense that they feel a bit unsure. the thing about coheed is that theyre such a strong band they can mask their flaws. in retrospect, i noticed numerous mistakes that are too subtle to really matter. i was focusing a little too intently on specifics rather than the general sound.

  • oh ok thanks tho man.

  • no problem

  • i dont think they lose the groove, i think they are setting the mood. most of this is improv so they don't really know what the other is going to play and the parts where it slows down is, i think, to kind of lose the attention of the audience for a second and then kick it with the heavier solo, like at 6:16

it didn't quite hit near as close to home in this vid, but on the hammerstein DVD...that one gave me chills.

  • Ditto, yo.

By the way, I haven't heard any new stuff from you. Whats up?

  • i dont have a camera to record anything plus the usb ports on my computer dont really work anymore for some reason...the mouse works, but my flash drive, midi recording cable, and camera chord all dont work.

  • That sucks.

    Hardcore.

  • best jam ever?

  • Just wow...So close to classic rock magic. The solo sounds so much like pink floyd. So amazing what they tapped into here. This is the best coheed song. Its untouchable. Its the first song i tell anyone to listen to when getting into coheed. Sold!

  • pure fucking magic

  • that was incredible. Amazing. Coheed is one of the best modern bands out there.

  • mics sitting down :D if claudio could play all the instruments at once.. he would =p

  • claudio just keeps playing over mic- trying to get in :D claudio has to keep them in check =p

  • half way through it looks like he's checking his phone :D "yeah, i'm not doing anthing right now :D

  • this is the first time i saw claudio wearing long sleeve :)) but he still rock damn

  • I LOVE this jam. Probably more so than the more recent ones, and the one seen on Hammerstein DVD. This looks like right after GA vol 1 was released, and they played this and just jammed. TOTALLY improv. If you look at their performances now, they use some recycled parts, but still awesome. C&C rule all.

  • gorgeous !!!

  • Did they do another DVD here or did they just happen record it like an MTV type of thing?

  • Lowlands in the Netherlands

  • where is this?

  • Claudio-guitar/vocals

    Travis Stever-guitar

    Micheal Todd-bass

    currently

    Chris Pennie-drums

    previously

    Josh eppard-drums

  • no he didn't. He said currently, the drummer is Chris Pennie. Which it is. Then, he said that previously, the drummer was Josh Eppard, which it was. Previously, Eppard. Currently, Pennie.

  • My god, what a debate!

Can someone please tell me the lineup of CoCa on this video? I know their music, but not the musicians. Outside of Claudio, of course.

  • The lineup in this video is Claudio, Mic, Travis, and Josh......which is the original lineup. I can't see how so many people are confused by this

  • this song makes my dookie tinkle

  • this is soooooo awesome to listen to while high

  • agreed.

  • amazing bass player as well

  • that is Mic, he just had his beard at the time

  • Maybe cause thats still eppard on drums and they both left at the same time in 06

  • i know thats not the original bass player, i also know they lost the drummer for a while too and used the drummer from the dillinger escape plan, witch is now there drummer...hes good but id like them to keep it original know what i mean?..but im glad mic came back.. and on the new album the new drummer didnt even record, it was the drummer from the foo fighters

  • when they lost eppard the first time they didnt use pennie

they used the drum tech but that is eppard in the video because hes playing lefty

  • in this video jason's not here

but, he is back with em now
