  • Amtrak still has a number of their older engines. They however have their power plants removed and converted to cab car/baggage car hybrids. Very creative if you ask me.

  • Too bad Amtrak didn't keep their F40s for small jobs like the Springfield Shuttle or Carl Sandburg and other regional Midwest trains-would save them the hassle of buying 20+ unnessecary P42s.
