@xxxPLAYGTA4xxx No, a California Water Blade is another device that destroys your paint. 5th Gear did a very good video that shows that very fact. To remove big water, you need to use the pooling rinse. Using water to dry your car is the safest way to remove water.
@xxxPLAYGTA4xxx You would need to check out some of my many threads about this very subject. If you join up and contact me over at Adam's Forums, I'll direct you to some of them. I'll also show you things about your paint that you never realized was going on.
@Junkman2000 Im going to do a little research now. But I work detailing cars and I use Cali blades on a daily basis. Not trying to argue or anything, just a little friendly conversation one detailer/enthusiast to another :)
@FormulaDGoSpeedGo AutoGeek sell those. Do you realize that you are watching my old series? There is a much newer one posted on my channel. Also, you are only getting part of the information. You need to go to Adam's Forums so that you can get the latest scoop. This series is old.
Go to the Adam's Forums website. Go into the forums area. Look for a forum called "The Junkman's Corner". Then take a look at the video series that talks about how to restore your paint. It will be a sticky, along with a bunch of other videos series that you should also watch.
So the quick disconnect is just like an air compressor quick disconnect. I've never heard of washing and detailing a car inside the garage...with the door closed. Looks wierd, but makes sence.
@Horn0816 Yep. I filmed this series in the middle of the Kentucky winter so it was cold as hell. I can heat the garage up and wash the car inside the garage because I have a 3" drain in there. In the summer, it keeps dust from blowing into the garage.
I have a new detailing video series now that replaced this one. You should watch it. This series is my old series. I've improved it lot.
Hey AJ, someting you may want to do, after rinsing the mitt off in your rinse bucket, wring the mitt out before going to the wash bucket. The theory being that by going straight out of the rinse bucket right to the wash bucket, you are transferring quite a bit of the dirt and such from the rinse bucket to the wash bucket which could then be ground against the paint.
@LouisvilleEclipse Thanks for the comments. Actually, this is a very, very old video series in which I have changed a lot of what I do and how I do it. My newew series is more up to date but I am coming out with yet a third series that has even more changes to my routine. It is constantly evolving and improving!
@Junkman2000 no i havnt mate , i manage as head detailer for 3 toyota dealerships in victoria australia , im very interested in your vids , i find you guys have alot more choice in products , although iv tried alot ... iv found auto smart is the best for cost / finished product . what is your view on it as a product ??? cheers lucas ....
I am pretty much self taught. I've been doing it since the 80's so I've had a lot of time to learn. My father did paint and body work for 40 years so I guess you can say that it is in my blood.
@Junkman2000 good stuff , i started at the bottom and was taken under the wing of 'the' best detailer iv ever seen , whose still in the trade at the young age of 70 !!! ever since learning everything i could off him , iv picked up little bits as i go , its been 17 years now and im still learning new things to this day !!!!! my god you see some cowboys along the way but hahaha .....
lol! Thanks man, but I don't use Zaino anymore. I have a new wash & wax series featuring Adam's Polishes. It is in more depth than this one. Have you seen that one?
Junkman2000, great set of videos. The quick disconnects are a great idea!
BTW, a tip picked up from Mike Phelps, wring out your MF before dunking back into soap. Its pretty clear to see that you don't have nearly as much soap on the MF when you pull it from the soap. Thats because the MF is already full of water. You do get some surface exchange, but the mitt has mostly water in it.
Hey thanks for watching. This is actually my very old car wash and wax series. I have a totally new series posted over at the Adam's Forums. Give that one a look!
I think you have some of the best and most informative detailing videos on the internet. There's also something about your voice and technique that is really relaxing watch .. Like the Bob Ross of the car cleaning world. Keep up the good work. Also, nice car. :)
I have to agree with exan1mo. As weird as it sounds, your voice makes the videos relaxing to watch LOL.. You definitely have the best and most detailed car detailing videos on the net.
You should see some of the fancy garages that I have seen. I'd be scared to work in them for fear of spilling something! By the way, have you seen my new 10 part wash and wax series?
Nice tutorial. I do the 2 bucket technique and use boutique products too :). Must be nice to wash your car in the garage. I use that same exact green MF towel, love that thing to death!
Exceptional tutorials!!! I have decided that I will begin waxing my own car instead of paying someone else to do (in the past it has taken guys 40 minutes to wax my entire car). My question to you is where is the best places to buy my supplies? I have seen the PC 7424 on both Auto Geeks and on Ebay, and they come as a kit with some pads. Where is the best place to get the ZPC from? Thanks Junkman. Keep up the great postings.
Forty minutes? It takes me at least 6 hours to do mine! As for the PC, Adam's Polishes or Autogeek sell them. Look at both places and see which kit best suites your needs. As for any of the Zaino products, you can only buy them at the Zaino store online. If you do a search for Zaino, you'll find their website. That is the ONLY place you should find anything they sell.
Yea, I know what you mean. Until I got heat in that garage, I use to freeze my fingers off trying to wash my cars. Now I can heat that puppy up in five minutes and wash the cars in my swimming trunks!
It looks dark because of the direction the light is pointed (almost directly at the camera). There are 4, 1000 watt halogens in there and only 1 of them is on. When I turn them all on, it looks like a supernova!
Anything can scratch the car, especially if it is not used correctly. Also, microfiber towels are not created equal. The stuff they sell at Pep Boys and Auto Zone will scratch your stuff to hell and back. The quality MF towels that I get from Autogeek are of another level in quality and very seldom do they leave any marks on the paint. The construction of the MF towels in key to their quality.
