i read in the old days (from Hammer of the Gods book) that the goons who worked for Zeppelin (roadies) would keep an eagle eye out for anyone with a tape recorder or a video camera, and if they caught you taping the show, they would sneak up behind you and crack your skull and destroy your equipment and throw you out of the concert, a bloody pulp, mafia - style.
That was before things changed, to say the least. I have no idea if this is true, but read the book and see
At Oakland in 1977, Peter Grants 11 year old son was struck backstage by one of Bill Grahams officals before the show. Bonso saw it and gave the guy a kick in the balls. But when Grant heard it, him and a Zep henchman cornered the guy in a trailer and knocked him into space. If you fucked with Zeppelin, Peter Grant and his pals paid you a visit.

@JerrySmith2 Sorry But how can you judge his playing on this totally shite clip... Cant pick anything out .... good or bad. Your just assuming he is crap.
@JerrySmith2 How can you criticise Jimmy's playing from this poor sound quality??? I'd have a guess that you're clearly the best guitarist the world has ever seen so are obviously in a good position to be judging the skills of someone who has made millions by weilding his guitar... Douche.....
far be it from me to tell the masters how to do things but I think they should have opened the show with this song. ..Been a long time since I rock and rolled!
I wish these guys would just do a world tour already. Just one. I do believe that somewhere on this night, John Bonham was looking down and saying, "Well done chaps. Well done."
well duh it was on his phone you cant just walk in with a big camera. you walk past the security check and theres a big lump in your chest what do you say?
Reunion is a BAD idea, they are old and Rob is tired of being''ledzep golden god''he's happy singing with A.Krauss and without great Bonzo it's not Zep!
Is it a bad idea when it's to raise money for a worthy cause and most fans are all but too happy to part with there money for this? I only wish I could have been there, even if Mr. Plant's vocal cords aren't as young as they used to be...I still love em' !
Plant,PAGE,J.Paul Jones & Bonham they are GREAT MUSICIANS & THEY ARE MONSTERS OF ROCK son unos GENIOS estos cabrones nohay un HARD ROCK O HEAVY como ellos
Do you know that he has actually got one of the widest ranges of any singer. I personally love it when he explores some of the lower parts of his voice - check out Blue Train - its melting stuff!!! He won't tour with Zep because he doesn't want all the pantomime and huge stadiums. He's really been enjoying smaller gigs that are more intimate...

Hey, you people are bullshitin'. Plant is one and only, 3 days ago he was choosen for the best rock singer in the world. His voice is so good and powerfull, and no one can replace him. PLANT AND PAGE - THE BEST!!!
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
The song is about youthful energy and complusion, but Plant's voice sounds like dear old father Tom at the church fete. If they want to preserve what mystique remains for Led Zeppelin they shouldn't tour again. When I saw them back in '94 Plant looked stuffed. Jimmy Page had globs of spit hanging from his mouth. It was foul. They're too old.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
If you all remember Robert Plant's live voice way back when...trust me...it has actually gotten much better! I think came around over the years and realized he needed to step it up. The albums were able to cover this fact but live was unable to be helped. He is 100x better today. He dated a classmate of mine, Noelle, back in the mid 80's and he was really only then facing the fact that he could have used some lessons! Don't get me wrong, they are still among the best ever and always will be.
i hate to sound negitive i love zepp i can remember taking the plastic off my new presence album in late 1970's but jason isnt as good as his dad was i can hear it but he is great
yes he isnt the same.. but a technically more proficient drummer... the solo is very crisp and precise, something john bonham had difficulty with (no doubt the drugs and alcohol contributed to this!)
He was trained by his father, so I'm going to guess that he's closer to where his father would have liked to have been, and perhaps even would have been minus the chemicals, than where he actually was. But it's so hard to say. We can't replay John Bonham's life with alterations to find out. It's also a different era, with different expectations and demands. Plus, the Zepplin legend and mythos has only grown in the meantime, perhaps pressuring Jason to be a lot closer to perfect.
Any one know if Zep plans on releasing a DVD of this concert?

The song is about youthful energy and complusion, but Plant's voice sounds like dear old father Tom at the church fete. If they want to preserve what mystique remains for Led Zeppelin they shouldn't tour again. When I saw them back in '94 Plant looked stuffed. Jimmy Page had globs of spit hanging from his mouth. It was foul. They're too old.

Don't get me wrong, they are still among the best ever and always will be.

i hate to sound negitive i love zepp i can remember taking the plastic off my new presence album in late 1970's but jason isnt as good as his dad was i can hear it but he is great
zdogy1 3 years ago
yes he isnt the same.. but a technically more proficient drummer... the solo is very crisp and precise, something john bonham had difficulty with (no doubt the drugs and alcohol contributed to this!)
